She hurriedly put down the teacup in her hand, turned back and said, “Mr. Nian, since you’re discussing a case, I think I should leave for now.”
“Why do you have to leave? I won’t agree to that case anyway,” said Nian Junting carelessly while knocking the table with his slender fingers.
Luosang paused. Xiao Si widened his eyes and said, “Are you crazy? Turn down such a profitable case?”
“I’m not lacking money,” said Nian Junting with a deep and lazy voice, “I don’t appreciate people like Yi Jingxi. He took advantage of his fiancee and mercilessly kicked her away after getting what he wanted. Do you really think he will help you make a fortune easily? I’ve never met him, but I’d guess that he is definitely a snake. You know I’ve always disliked that kind of person. I only agreed to see him because of you.”
Xiao Si was a little speechless, but he knew that Nian Junting meant what he said. “You’re right, but those Xu Family people got what they deserved. That old man in their family molested his students at such an old age, so disgusting,” he said.
Nian Junting snorted and said, “That’s disgusting indeed, but it doesn’t mean that Yi Jingxi has clean hands. Forget it, I don’t intend to upload justice, I just don’t appreciate people like him.”
The afternoon sunlight poured on Nian Junting’s beautifully shaped face, and emphasized his proudness and elegance. It all seemed to be a part of his nature as the sun brightened his face, making it very pleasant to look at.
Luosang stared at him for a few seconds, and then, her calm heart rippled.
Ever since her father went to prison, all of her family and friends left her and tried everything to avoid her. Many of them were still cursing her father. Long articles were published on all kinds of news media to praise Yi Jingxi for his integrity, for placing righteousness over family loyalty, but no one saw the dirtiness in that man’s heart.
Without the Xu Family, without the failure of Luosang’s father, and without taking away everything she had, how could Yi Jingxi have ever achieved his success?
If Luosang hadn’t put in a good word for him in front of her father, Xu Zheng Xuan, then he wouldn’t even have had a platform to start his career.
The arrogant and picky Nian Junting was the only one who said something like that about him. Clearly, although he was standing on the top of the business world, he still had a clean conscience and integrity. There weren’t many people in the world like him.
Suddenly, Luosang felt that Nian Junting had become much more appealable in her eyes. At least, he was more real than those hypocrites.
“Mr. Nian, I need to go to the bathroom,” Luosang said, abruptly interrupting Nian Junting’s conversation with Xiao Si.
Nian Junting stared at her with displeasure.
“It may… take a while,” Luosang added, showing an embarrassed look.
Nian Junting’s face darkened immediately.
“Go, go,” Xiao Si waved his hand and said, “She’s been with you all day and didn’t even get the convenience to go to the bathroom. Now I’m with you, don’t worry.”
“Thank you, Mr. Xiao,” Luosang thanked Xiao Si, then lowered her head and quickly walked out of the office.
Not long after she left, Yi Jingxi, well-dressed with a pressed suit stepped out of the elevator. He saw a familiar figure disappearing at the end of the corridor.
He narrowed his eyes and thought that was an illusion.
Why did that girl look so much like Xu Luosang? But she had no reason to show up in an upper floor of the building of Sheng Ting Investment.
“Mr. Yi, what’s wrong?” asked Lu Kang. He was showing him the way, when he noticed Yi Jingxi suddenly pause.
“Nothing,” Yi Jingxi shook his head, cleared his mind then walked into the CEO’s office.
Luosang spent five minutes in the bathroom, then saw Lu Kang doing his work in the secretarial pool when she got out. After being informed that Nian Junting’s meeting with Yi Jingxi wasn’t over yet, she asked Lu Kang, “It seems to be inappropriate for me to go in now; can I stay in the reception room for a while?”
