Chapter 1486: He Did Do It on Purpose
Everyone could tell that he was getting jealous and finding an excuse to chase Feng Ji Chuan away, but nobody knew what else to say. They couldn’t come up with an appropriate answer to the situation. Finally, Cheng Jing said, “Nian Xi needs some rest. I think we should head back now that we’ve already seen her.”
“Yeah,” Zhan Hong said. “Come on.”
“Alright.” Feng Ji Chuan wasn’t planning on staying anyway. He didn’t leave the previous night because he was worried about her. Now that her life was no longer in any danger, and she was well-taken care of, there was no need for him to stay and impose on them.
When he reached the door, he turned and said to Jiang Yuning, “You should peel some kiwi fruit for her to replenish some vitamin C.”
Jiang Yuning nodded.
The room was finally quiet again and Nian Xi was ready to reprimand Jiang Yuning. “Who said you could tell people that I enjoyed Jin Mei? Did you do it on purpose?”
“I didn’t,” Jiang Yuning shook his head. “You said you wanted to hear it in the afternoon.”
Nian Xi was at a loss for words. If she wasn’t injured, she would have gotten up and hit him. “Well… you can’t say that in front of so many people.”
Jiang Yuning pursed his lips and didn’t say a word.
He did do it on purpose.
He wanted Feng Ji Chuan to know how liberal and wild he and Nian Xi were together.
Luosang couldn’t bear to watch them anymore, “Alright, if you’re not embarrassed about saying it yourself, you shouldn’t be embarrassed about other people finding out.”
Nian Xi said in a frustrated tone, “Sangsang, why are you helping him and not me? Don’t forget, you are my real sister-in-law, not an impostor.”
“I’m on the side of reason,” Luosang smiled.
“You guys are ganging up against a patient,” Nian Xi grunted. “Sangsang, it’s getting late. Will you help me get some water to wash up with? You can go back after this—my brother should be arriving soon.”
Jiang Yuning scooted closer, “Xixi, I’m good at these sorts of things. Have you forgotten? You made me serve you tea and wash your feet. I even cut your toenails for you before.”
Luosang laughed, “He’s doing such a good job, I better leave it up to him.”
“Don’t,” Nian Xi said quickly. It wasn’t the same thing—she wanted Luosang to help her with her private area. She wasn’t usually embarrassed when they were getting it on after taking a shower, but she was dirty and unclean at that moment. She didn’t want him to be repulsed by her as they weren’t even married yet.
Luosang could read her mind and she walked over to her, whispering, “This is the time to put him to the test. I know what you’re thinking. You’re embarrassed and you’re afraid of ruining your image. But for two people to get together and stay together, you have to be prepared to show each other your worst sides. You can use this opportunity to observe him. You should consider swapping him out with someone else if he’s too concerned over things like that. That’s how your brother and I managed to get so far—I took care of him when his legs were injured, and I’ve seen him at his worst and lowest. I still love him through everything. That is the kind of love that will last a lifetime.”
Nian Xi was shocked. “I’m not like my brother, alright? He would still think the world of himself even if he fell into a pit full of crap. I still have self-awareness.”
Luosang chuckled. “I’m serious. This is the perfect time to see if this is the man you’d want to spend the rest of your life with. You’re not getting any younger—you can even get married this year. Don’t waste his time if you don’t think the two of you are incompatible.”
Nian Xi laughed, “You act so different now that you’re married. You speak such wise words even though you’re younger than me.”
