Chapter 1463 - This Is My Boyfriend, Mo Liuxi
Chapter 1463: This Is My Boyfriend, Mo Liuxi
Mo Liuxi looked at her with a whirlwind of emotions. His eyes shone brighter than they ever had.
It was the same for him.
In the past, he only had Mo Jin to celebrate the Lunar New Year Festival with. Although it had been nice ever since his family had reunited, everyone had their partners, and he had been without her. How could he ever have had a good New Year?
“Oh, come on,” Auntie Wu teased them, “the two of you are getting all intimate in front of me. I should get myself outta here!”
Yan Su’s face blushed red. “Umm… Please carry on cooking. I’ll stop bothering you guys.”
However, when she reached the door, she still couldn’t stop worrying. “Liuxi, there are quite a lot of guests here—we need to have food enough for at least two large tables. Can you handle it?”
“Is there anything that I can’t handle?” Mo Liuxi answered confidently.
Yan Su didn’t say anything after that.
The kitchen duo continued preparing food for everyone.
At noon, Yan Su was busy setting the table for lunch. Everyone was singing praises as elegantly prepared dishes were brought out one by one.
Auntie smiled. “Peiying, it looks like your future son-in-law’s culinary skills are much better than yours. This Sanbeiji smells so amazing… and look at how vibrantly colored this Dongpo pork is! Looking at these dishes just makes my mouth water!”
“And the hand-pulled beef! I want to eat it! I want to eat!” said the little cousin at the edge of the table, salivating.
Hearing the waves of compliments, Jiang Peiying and Yan Lv felt their pride returning. Before that, Yan Su’s elopement had embarrassed them in front of everyone. For people their age, their children were their pride; their daughter’s private life was a far cry from what a parent could pride themselves on.
Now, they finally felt as if they could lift their heads high.
Jiang Peiying couldn’t stop smiling as she said, “He does cook very well. He even prepared a full breakfast spread for us this morning.”
“Wow, you must be really enjoying life right now,” Auntie joked. “Susu, you must properly introduce your boyfriend to us later.”
“I will,” Yan Su smiled and nodded.
After almost all the dishes had been brought out and everyone had started eating, Mo Liuxi came out holding a plate of steaming-hot stir-fried vegetables.
He took off the apron to reveal a black down jacket paired with a grey turtleneck sweater on the inside, jeans, and Dr. Marten boots. Even though the red scarf on his neck was a bit too much, it went well with the outfit and even highlighted his pronounced features—thick eyebrows, high nose bridge, thin lips that exuded sexiness, and his model-like build. The noisy dining room instantly quietened down.
Yan Mi forced herself to swallow the meat in her mouth and was the first to speak, “Susu, isn’t your boyfriend that very popular director… Mo Liuxi?”
Yan Su nodded and looked at her parents before introducing him to everyone, “This is my boyfriend, Mo Liuxi.”
Mo Liuxi looked at her with a gentle gaze. That was the best thing he had ever heard in his life. In the past, he didn’t like having a high profile or attracting attention. At that moment, he loved hearing her tell others that he was her boyfriend.
“Liuxi, this is my uncle…” Yan Su introduced him to her family members one by one. With Mo Liuxi’s exceptional memory, he memorized them instantly and greeted them one by one.
After the relatives had gotten over the shock, Auntie exclaimed, “I saw some gossip about you two in the past and I thought that it was impossible, what with his age and all… Who knew that the two of you really got together. This young man is really good-looking—even more so than in the photos.”
Mo Liuxi smiled as he said, “Susu is only older than me by a little more than two years. Isn’t there a saying that it’s auspicious to marry a lady three years older? I don’t think there’s that big a gap between us.”
