Chapter 410: Chibaku Tensei
Chapter 410: Chibaku Tensei
“In conclusion, my pain is greater than yours.”
Nagato felt like someone hit him on the head with a sledgehammer when Yuna returned his own words back to him.
‘Is that story really true?’
His most significant source of pain, the death of his best friend, Yahiko, was undoubtedly a tragic event, but if he were to compare that to the story Yuna just told him…
‘It has to be a lie. She came up with that story on the spot and told it to me to confuse me.’
Nagato imagined what it would be like if Yahiko were not only killed in front of him but if he were the one to do it after being betrayed by him.
‘I would probably go insane if that happened to me.’
Another shudder went through Nagato’s body as he made another realization.
‘She IS insane, so did that story really happen?’
While Nagato was deep in thought, Yuna patiently stood in front of him and waited for him to finish his pondering.
Frankly, she was rather curious how Nagato would react to her story. She found Pain’s idea to bring peace through overwhelming pain to be ridiculously impossible, but she couldn’t help but wonder what he would think when he met someone who went through more pain than himself.
A short moment later, Nagato finished his contemplations as his eyes regained focus and concentrated on Yuna.
“It does not matter. Someone like you who never sought after peace is not worth understanding. No matter what you went through, no matter how much pain you experienced, someone who does not wish for peace has no right standing in front of me.”
As soon as Nagato finished speaking, he lifted up his arms and pointed them at Yuna.
“[Shinra Tensei]”
After Nagato used such a powerful Shinra Tense in Konoha, he could not use it for quite a while, but not only took it some time for him to reach the ground after getting blasted away, he talked with Yuna for a while as well, allowing him to regain his power.
Yuna shook her head in disappointment when she heard Nagato’s words. Simultaneously, she could feel gravity pushing against her body, trying to send her flying away.
“I see, so you concluded that this is just an exception, huh? Pathetic.”
Before Yuna could get pushed away, ice started spreading from her feet, anchoring her to the ground and preventing her from getting sent flying.
“Someone as ambitious as you should never make compromises. You want to influence the whole world, yet you dismiss your ambition of peace through pain the moment an obstacle pops up. Is that all your willpower amounts to, ‘god’?”
Nagato grimaced when Yuna managed to endure his attack, and the moment Yuna mockingly called him a god, he could no longer endure Yuna’s mocking words.
From the very first time Yuna and Nagato met, Yuna was constantly pilling up mockery after mockery on him, and although he did somewhat get angry a few times, at this very moment, he finally had enough and truly snapped.
“I HAVE ENOUGH OF YOUR MOCKERY!!! I WILL PUT THE FEAR OF GOD INTO YOU!!!”
Deva Path Pain clapped his hands together as he gathered ridiculous amounts of chakra, allowing Yuna to feel where all that chakra was coming from clearly.
Simultaneously, blood started flowing out of the real Nagato’s eyes, nose, and mouth in a hidden location while a crazed look appeared in his eyes.
“N-Nagato, you shouldn’t go that far. You are…”
“Silence! This is the path I have chosen, and I will walk it to the end. I will show that monster what it means to be a god!”
Back to Yuna, Deva Path Pain separated his hands, showing a small black ball in between them. He separated his hands some more, causing the ball to grow slightly bigger, before letting go of it, allowing it to fly towards Yuna.
“[Chibaku Tensei]”
Yuna could feel a powerful gravitational pull affect not only herself but even her surroundings as a disdainful smile appeared on her face.
“The fear of god? What is there to fear about god?”
Yuna mimicked Nagato’s movement and clapped her hand together while a ferocious smile appeared on her face.
“I will put the fear of me into you!”
Dense, syrup-like, almost entirely blue chakra flowed out of Yuna’s body and covered her in a fox-like cloak with nine tails.
“[Ice Style:…”
Yuna separated her hand and put them on the ground, immediately causing everything in the vicinity to freeze over, while a luxurious-looking ice armor formed underneath her dense chakra cloak.
“…Domain Creation:…”
Yuna’s ice spread even further as a battle-thirsty grin appeared on her face while a bit of blood started flowing out of her nose.
[You are overdoing it!]
‘Yes!’
“… Heavenly Ice Goddess’s Realm]”
Everything froze.
While previously, everything was simply covered by a layer of ice, now, everything was frozen solid.
The trees that previously merely had a layer of ice covering them turned into solid ice statues. The ground was frozen multiple meters deep. Deva Path Pain himself turned into an ice statue.
And most importantly, despite the powerful gravitational pull of the still floating orb, nothing moved, like space itself was frozen.
A few seconds later, the black orb fizzled out of existence, marking the end of Nagato’s jutsu.
Yuna fell on one knee while coughing out some blood with a broad smile on her face and an overall refreshed-looking facial expression.
‘It’s been a while since I have done this. That was fun~’
[That was utterly unnecessary.]
‘Yeah, it kinda was, but he started pissing me off with his endless rambling about being a god, so I made him shut up.’
[I agree that it was becoming rather annoying, but you still overdid it by a considerable margin. There were easier ways than turning this whole area into a frozen tundra to end this fight quickly.]
‘Yeah, yeah, stop nagging. Besides, this was part of a crucial experiment I wanted to try.’
[I have my doubts about that, but let’s hear it.]
‘Hehe, I wanted to test whether Pain will change his name from Pain to Fear after what he just went through, hahaha!’
[Truly a cause worthy of risking your body getting blown to bits for.]
‘I know, right?’
[Right, Sarcasm Immunity, I forgot about that passive skill of yours.]
‘Hahaha, as expected of me to have such a great skill! Aren’t I great?’
[Sure..]
