Chapter 3676: Escape
Chapter 3676: Escape

Two hours later.
Under the cover of night, the ship carrying Darcy sped forward.
They had finally escaped.
As Darcy watched the ship speed away from Sea God Island and enter the open sea, his wildly pounding heart gradually settled.
That monster Fang Heng!
Fortunately, amidst the misfortune, the divine authority had still been preserved.
If he could hand the divine authority over to the people from the main island, it would still count as a great merit.
He saw them!
They were the ships sent by Sea God Island to receive them!
When Darcy saw the silhouettes of ships appear in the distance, he was immediately overjoyed.
"They are the main island’s ships! Send them a signal! Accelerate and rendezvous with them!"
"Yes!"
Sea God Island was scattered across the world.
According to differences in faith, Sea God Island was divided into three main islands, corresponding to the three Sea Gods they worshipped.
This time, after learning that Sawyer had found divine authority, the main island had sent a high-tier god servant, Tina, to personally receive it.
High Priest Sawyer had originally intended to temporarily hand the three divine statues over to the main island for safekeeping, but after thinking it over, the main island might not agree, and going back and forth would only waste more time.
So after joining up with the team sent by the Sea God Island main island, they immediately returned toward Sea God Island.
They had not expected to encounter Darcy’s fleeing ship halfway there.
The moment Sawyer saw Darcy’s ship, he immediately had a bad premonition.
Had he not ordered Darcy to keep Fang Heng stable on Sea God Island?
If he had appeared here, then it likely meant Sea God Island had already run into major trouble.
Darcy signaled for his ship to draw closer, then immediately boarded the other vessel. When he saw the woman in god servant robes standing beside Sawyer, his heart skipped a beat, and he immediately bowed. "Greetings, Lord Oracle, High Priest Sawyer!"
"Rise and speak."
"Yes!"
"Darcy, why are you here?"
"My apologies, High Priest. Fang Heng had gone mad. He was dissatisfied with the terms we offered and clashed with us. He also began massively destroying the divine statues in the ritual grounds."
"What! He actually dared..."
Sawyer immediately felt a tightness in his chest.
Although the divine statues left on Sea God Island were all second-rate goods, he had still accumulated them little by little over a very long time.
Yet Fang Heng had wiped them all out in one sweep!
Darcy!
Sawyer thought of something and stared at Darcy with reproach in his eyes.
Had he not told him to keep Fang Heng steady?
How had things ended up like this?
Hearing this, god servant Tina also frowned, displeasure rising in her heart.
Who was Fang Heng?
She had never heard of him.
As for the Oz Empire, it was merely a small empire in these seas.
And yet he dared destroy the ritual grounds of Sea God Island?
Knowing he had made a mistake, Darcy did not dare meet High Priest Sawyer’s eyes and lowered his head as he said, "Lord Oracle, in the moment of crisis, to ensure the safety of the divine authority, this subordinate had no choice but to withdraw first with the divine authority. Fortunately, I did not fail my mission. The divine authority was preserved."
"Oh? You brought the divine authority out?"
"Yes."
Darcy respectfully presented the divine authority with both hands.
Tina accepted it and examined it for a moment. When she discovered it was a high-tier divine authority, delight immediately appeared on her face, and she repeatedly praised him. "Good! Very good! You have all done very well!"
A mere Sea God Island.
Even if it were destroyed, so what?
How could it compare to the value of high-tier divine authority?
Darcy said, "Lord Oracle, when I left, Fang Heng was still attacking Sea God Island. I fear Sea God Island will not be able to hold out for long. Lord Oracle, please uphold justice for us."
Tina still did not take Fang Heng seriously. While studying the divine authority in her hand, she said casually, "Do not worry. Since you found the divine authority, this is a great merit. You will certainly be explained."
"Many thanks, Lord Oracle!"
Sawyer took a deep breath and said, "Now that the divine authority is already in hand, we may as well return to the main island first, hand the divine authority over to the High Priest, and request that the High Priest gather the main fleet to retake Sea God Island."
"Return?"
Tina raised her head and looked at Sawyer, "Why return? It is only a merchant ship from a minor nation. Does that really require alarming the High Priest and dispatching Sea God Island’s main force?"
Sawyer frowned.
Tina was one of the seven god servants of the main island. Her status was exalted, and her strength was unfathomable. This time, she had also brought over twenty high-grade ships from Sea God Island.
The strength of this fleet was more than enough not only to deal with a single merchant ship but even to crush the entire Oz Empire.
And yet, for some reason, Sawyer still felt uneasy.
Just as he was thinking of how to persuade Tina, a sailor suddenly reported, "Sir, we have discovered ships rapidly approaching us!"
"Oh? Who are they?"
Ordinary pirates would never dare approach Sea God Island’s ships.
Much less in the middle of the night.
Anyone approaching now would be considered hostile.
Everyone turned to look into the distance.
The sailor replied, "The ships are flying the banner of the Oz Empire."
The Oz Empire?
Tina was briefly startled and turned to Sawyer. "The small empire that attacked Sea God Island?"
Sawyer’s expression changed several times before he nodded. "Yes."
Hearing that, everyone was stunned.
The Oz Empire’s merchant ships!
What nerve!
They actually dared come looking for them?
The sense of unease in Sawyer’s heart grew stronger and stronger.
When he had left the harbor earlier, he had already sensed that a tracking spell had been placed on his ship. He had spent considerable effort dispersing all of it and only left after confirming there were no problems.
So, how had the Oz Empire’s people found them again?
Could it be Darcy?
Sawyer immediately turned and looked at Darcy, coldly demanding, "Darcy! Did you lead them here?"
"Impossible! They could not have been following me!" Darcy shook his head repeatedly and denied it. "I checked several times. There were no tracking spells on us."
"Enough. Stop arguing." Tina said coldly, "No matter who they followed here, since they have run into us, then they have chosen death. Eliminate them. Prepare for battle."
"Yes!"
On the ships, the Sea God priests gathered on deck and began chanting spells in unison.
The divine statues at the prows were activated, and layers of crimson barriers emerged, tightly enveloping the ships. Rows upon rows of magical crystal cannons mounted along both sides of the ships were activated and aimed at the distant Oz Empire vessels, waiting only for them to enter range.
Darcy’s eyelid twitched. Recalling the scene of Fang Heng fighting the warships of the Lyman Empire not long ago, he cautiously reminded them, "Sir, the enemy may have faith in some false god. They possess the ability to summon undead and can even raise tidal waves. We must not be careless."
"Oh? An undead tide?"
Tina’s expression was full of disdain, "A mere false god. Before a true god, they would not even have a chance to flee."
In the distance.
Fang Heng stood on the deck of the ship and gazed at the more than twenty Sea God Island vessels ahead.
Seeing the banners flying on the enemy ships, Cao Ge’s expression turned more serious as he said, "Boss Fang, the banners show that this is the force Sea God Island sent."
