Chapter 3327: Netherworld Map

The next day, Adam and Watson brought the recommendation letter issued by the school to the church temple.
Only three second-year students passed the academy’s final assessment yesterday and received an S-level evaluation.
Adam, Watson, and Olivia.
Watson was a full head taller than Adam. Besides cultivating as a spirit-type oracle, he also practiced his family’s martial arts, and his build was much stronger.
"Adam, Watson."
As the appointed time approached, Olivia appeared at the temple gate. "It’s your first time visiting the church temple. I’ll take you to meet the instructor."
"Alright, thank you."
Adam took a deep breath to calm himself.
Both he and Watson had just received their first S-level evaluations, while Olivia had already achieved an S evaluation last year and had recently become a formal oracle, giving her an entire year’s advantage studying within the church.
"As for Instructor Nois..." Olivia reminded them, "He doesn’t like people going against his will, so it’s best not to argue with him."
"Thank you."
Olivia led the two into the instructor’s office.
"Very good. All three of you are outstanding students recommended by the academy," Instructor Nois said expressionlessly. He didn’t even bother to tell who was Adam and who was Watson and impatiently waved his hand. "Olivia, take them to familiarize themselves with their future work. You already know the church’s routine. Just keep things as usual. Don’t disturb me if there’s nothing important."
"Yes, Instructor."
After meeting the instructor, Olivia led the two out of the room, continuing up the stairs to the upper level of the church. She explained, "Instructor Nois is deeply devoted to his research and dislikes being disturbed. It’s best to stay out of his way."
Adam frowned slightly.
What a bad stroke of luck to end up with such an instructor.
It didn’t matter—he had the Shadow God.
That was far more reliable than this so-called instructor.
"Also, the instructor usually leaves church affairs to us. Therefore, Church No. 177, corresponding to the Netherworld domain, will be under our charge as trainees."
Watson pointed to himself in confusion.
"Huh? Us?"
Did they even have that qualification?
A city was divided into one grand cathedral and hundreds of small affiliated churches, most of which were built outside the city.
"The instructor’s other students are all out training, so we’re responsible for the temple’s daily operations," Olivia said casually. "Don’t worry. Most tasks can be subcontracted. There are many oracles who collaborate with our church, and they’re usually happy to take on commission missions."
Adam nodded in agreement.
That was how he used to do things.
People from the church were always lazy. They often called him to help with tasks like repairing magic arrays.
Spend a little money, get a big job done.
"Alright."
"The instructor doesn’t discipline us much, but there’s an upside. We’re granted access to the church’s material distribution. The instructor doesn’t check carefully. Every month we can take a fixed amount, and we’re in charge of distributing the remainder."
Watson’s eyes lit up immediately.
"Yes, the instructor has given us authorization to directly exchange for the church’s high-tier potions."
Church potions!
Those were the good stuff that could enhance basic attributes.
The church also had various weapons and equipment that could be exchanged for points. With enough points, they could greatly improve their strength in a short time.
"We’re here."
As she spoke, Olivia stopped before a large door on the top floor of the church. She scanned her wrist over the entrance inscription.
The door opened.
"Instructor Nois’s Church No. 177 is under the jurisdiction of the Holy Eagle City branch church. We’re in charge of the corresponding Netherworld domain, mainly responsible for maintaining the area’s safety and handling any premonition warnings."
Olivia stepped into the hall.
The entire hall gradually lit up, and a star-dotted map appeared on the ceiling.
"This is the Netherworld map of Church No. 177. Our assigned domain includes a total of eighty-two temples. Among them, one A-level temple requires special attention. Generally, if a temple’s seal malfunctions, an orange talisman warning mark will appear at its location."
"Once the information is confirmed, we must repair ordinary warnings within seventy-two hours, either by doing it ourselves or by spending points to issue a commission. However, we can’t delay too long—once it exceeds seventy-two hours, the church’s performance rating will start to drop."
"Additionally, various unexpected events may occur in the Netherworld. All warning signals will appear on the map with specific colors. You can check the manual for details."
Olivia pointed to a thick maintenance manual on a nearby desk.
"Also, every month, the main church allocates maintenance funds to us in the form of points. After deducting monthly expenses, there’s usually a surplus."
"Ninety-five percent of the profit goes to the instructor. The remaining five percent is distributed among us."
Watson’s eyes brightened immediately, and he asked, "How much is that?"
"Besides us, the senior brothers and sisters who are away training also receive a portion. Last month, I got around ten thousand points."
Adam understood.
It was a trap.
When he was a trainee oracle under the Shadow God, he could earn thirty thousand points from completing a single mission. Now he would be slaving away for Nois and getting only ten thousand points a month?
Bloodsucker!
Watson also frowned and questioned, "What if the points aren’t enough?"
"It’s best not to let that happen. I’ve seen a senior expelled from the instructor’s team because of it."
Watson shrank his neck and stopped talking.
D*mn it.
What a lousy instructor.
Fang Heng, possessing Adam’s body, studied the Netherworld map on the ceiling and asked, "What does the outer green ring area on the map represent?"
Adam immediately asked the question.
"It’s the public management area. Handling those earns additional church fund rewards. You can also apply to the church to manage more areas and include them under Church No. 177’s jurisdiction. That way, you’ll get extra monthly rewards. As the number of managed areas increases, the church’s level will rise as well."
Olivia shook her head slightly, "But that has nothing to do with us. The instructor has no intention of upgrading the church for now. Our job is simply to maintain the current state."
Fang Heng examined the map with interest.
So, the Netherworld domain map was actually a massive sensory magic array.
So that was how the God Clan monitored the Netherworld.
"Maintaining safety in the Netherworld is tedious and not very profitable. Completing the basic two million points per month is enough to meet the instructor’s requirements. What do you think? If there’s no problem, I’ll assign the daily watch duty. If anything comes up, you can ask me."
