Chapter 3092: Law
Chapter 3092: Law

Although he could still hold out for at least a week, things couldn’t go on like this...
Fang Heng tried raising his hand forward.
The God-given scepter appeared in his palm.
"Holy Purification!"
"Buzz..."
A dark-golden holy light bloomed and rapidly spread outward through the basement.
Chi, chi chi...
The thick Black Fog made a sizzling noise under the influence of the holy ripple, but no signs of dispersion appeared.
No matter how many times he tried, it was always the same.
The purifying abilities of the holy element had no effect on the Black Fog.
Not just holy abilities—he had also tried natural science, spatial science, and elemental science multiple times. None of them could effectively dispel the Black Fog.
What should he do?
He had gotten so used to cheat-like methods—now that he couldn’t rely on them, it was giving him a headache.
While Fang Heng was feeling troubled, his phone rang.
"Mr. Fang Heng,"
An Qian’s voice came from the other end, "I’ve arranged a one-on-one teaching session with Instructor Nasir this afternoon. I’m on my way to pick you up now. Will half an hour from now be alright?"
"Mm, that’s fine."
Fang Heng agreed, casting one last glance at the seventh basement level shrouded in the aura of the Black Fog.
He could confirm that the Black Fog aura was related to the game.
Among the various races in the Seven Realms Martial Capital, aside from the spawns, the other six major factions didn’t seem to be particularly fearful of the Black Fog.
Maybe he could probe indirectly and try to get some clues from other warriors of the Noel Clan.
...
Noel Clan headquarters building.
The recent incident within the spawns hadn’t caused much of a ripple among the Noel Clan. Training and dueling arrangements continued as usual.
When Nasir learned that Fang Heng had scheduled a session for alchemy instruction, he didn’t think too much of it at first. He assumed Fang Heng had encountered some difficulty in his alchemy cultivation.
Seeing Fang Heng arrive, he beckoned him over to sit.
"Fang Heng, you’re here. Please, sit."
Fang Heng sat down, looked at Nasir sitting across from him, and nodded. "Nasir, thank you for your guidance last time. I studied seriously afterward and finally made a breakthrough. Right now, I’ve hit a bottleneck at the transcendent level."
"Pfft!!"
Nasir had just picked up his teacup and nearly spat out a mouthful of water.
"What did you just say? You’ve hit another bottleneck?"
Nasir looked at Fang Heng as if he’d seen a ghost.
How long had it even been?
Breaking through to grandmaster level in such a short time was already impressive—he could still explain it as a case of delayed progress suddenly clicking and coming together.
But now he had already reached the transcendent-level bottleneck?
Seeing the astonishment in Nasir’s eyes, Fang Heng anticipated what the other was thinking. He raised his hand and lightly drew an arc in mid-air.
A condensed alchemy magic array formed in the air.
Well, it was true—without the help of the zombie clone, there was no way he could have maxed out his grandmaster-level alchemy so quickly.
Seeing Fang Heng perform this, Nasir’s eyes nearly popped out.
D*mn!
It was real!
How did he do it?
In just a few days, he executed a technique that looked polished to perfection, like it had been honed over the years.
There were no shortcuts in alchemy. No matter how talented someone was, it still required hard work and practice. Normal people wouldn’t reach this level in less than three to five years.
"Alright then."
Nasir took some time to recover from the shock, a bitter smile forming at the corner of his mouth.
It had taken him over a decade of daily cultivation to finally break through to the transcendent level.
"Hmm..."
Nasir let out a thoughtful sound, collected himself, and cleared his mind. He looked up and asked, "Fang Heng, most warriors study alchemy as an auxiliary discipline. I don’t know what level you’ve reached in other disciplines, or whether you’ve had any understanding of ’laws.’"
Fang Heng, apart from necromancy, had his highest level in demigod-level sealing arts.
Neither seemed to touch on the concept of ’laws.’
"I haven’t heard of it."
"Hmm, a large number of academic disciplines begin to touch on laws when entering the transcendent domain."
"’Laws,’ broadly speaking, can be understood as the fundamental principles governing the world’s operation. On a smaller scale, they can also be seen as changes in the surrounding environment. Let’s take alchemy as an example—advancing to the transcendent level means being able to influence certain localized laws through alchemy techniques."
Fang Heng frowned deeply and asked, "Sorry, it’s hard to understand just by hearing. Can you give an example?"
"Sure. Watch closely."
As Nasir spoke, he raised his finger and quickly condensed a magic array in mid-air.
"Whoosh!"
A flame suddenly burst out from the alchemy magic array.
"This is a basic fire-element magic array."
While speaking, Nasir walked toward the other side of the room.
There, a large alchemy magic array continuously operated on the floor.
Nasir stood in the center of the array and raised his right hand again, condensing another alchemy magic array in the air.
"Whoosh!"
Another burst of flame ignited from the center of the magic array.
"Try to perceive it carefully. See if you can spot the difference between the two."
Fang Heng stared at the two simultaneously active magic arrays, extending his perception.
They were clearly identical magic arrays.
If there was any difference...
Fang Heng looked up and asked, "Is it the flame’s intensity?"
"Yes, there’s a slight difference in flame intensity."
Nasir explained calmly, "Even with identical fire-element arrays, their actual effects vary depending on the environment. The alchemy array’s performance is influenced by some external force. We refer to that as ’law.’"
Fang Heng furrowed his brows and tried to grasp the concept.
Some kind of force...
The environment...
Law...
Why did it sound a little like...
Domain?
Fang Heng looked up and asked, "Nasir, have you heard of ’domains’?"
"Oh?" Nasir’s eyes lit up immediately. "So you’ve heard of domains. That makes explaining much easier. A domain can be described as a region influenced by a set of enhanced laws."
"For transcendent-level alchemy, what we need to achieve is the ability to influence a portion of the laws within a region through alchemy magic arrays."
Fang Heng shifted his gaze to the magic array under Nasir’s feet. "By relying on alchemy magic arrays?"
"Yes."
Nasir spoke seriously, "Fang Heng, this array may look simple, but it took me considerable effort to construct. First, I had to identify the environmental laws around it, then simulate them effectively, make predictive changes, and consider law compatibility. If you mess up even a little, you could trigger a full-blown law conflict..."
Fang Heng lowered his head in thought, then asked, "If domains represent further law modification, does that mean if the surrounding laws here were to change, the alchemy magic array under your feet would completely fail?"
