Chapter 1040 - 546: [Star River Ship]
Like the Shaking Light Star Tower, the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall is also situated atop the Civilization Great Wall. Or more accurately, the entire Beidou Seven Towers together with the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall are all located on this Colorful Mythical Strange Object known as the Civilization Great Wall, though they reside in different Star Domains.
Song Chi and the others did not get the opportunity to leave the Chasing Stars and Moon battleship, but due to his window-side seat, Song Chi managed to catch a fleeting glimpse of the Big Dipper Main Hall that he had long heard tales about.
Unlike the Shaking Light Star Tower, the Big Dipper Main Hall resembled more of an ancient temple. Surrounded by dazzling starlight, the entire hall seemed to be transformed into a celestial Star Palace.
Moreover, around this ancient temple stood seven towering spires. The seven auxiliary towers surrounded the starry palace like planets orbiting a star, lending more mystique to the ancient structure.
But that was all he could see, as the Chasing Stars and Moon battleship accelerated swiftly. Upon emerging from the spatial corridor, it instantly charged into the central hall, allowing Song Chi only the briefest glimpse.
After entering the grand hall, Song Chi couldn’t help but feel that the Chasing Stars and Moon had shrunk considerably. Otherwise, with its over ten-thousand-kilometer-long hull, it would have seemed utterly out of place within the hall’s interior.
Before he could deliberate further, the Chasing Stars and Moon had already flown onto a star-lit high platform to the right of the grand hall.
Witnessing this, Song Chi began to speculate.
“Could this be the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall’s inherent transmission configuration?”
Just as this thought occurred to him, a wave of intense dizziness struck.
What followed was an indescribable whirl of disorientation.
When Song Chi finally regained his senses, the Chasing Stars and Moon had reappeared in the pitch-black starry skies. Scanning the area, his gaze quickly locked onto three grotesquely enormous super battleships nearby.
One million kilometers long—Eighth Rank Torch Warships, Star River Ships.
Regarding Torch Warships beyond the Seventh Rank Star-Annihilating Starships, Song Chi only knew that the Eighth Rank was designated as Star River Ships. According to records, Eighth-Rank Star River Ship Captains possessed life spans of up to an astounding three hundred thousand years, rivaling the longevity of the Torch Human Civilization itself. As for the Ninth Rank, there appeared to be no references in his family’s archives.
Of course, the ancestors likely had knowledge of this. However, Song Chi had never proactively inquired, as even Star-Annihilating Starships seemed unattainably distant to him, let alone the Eighth or Ninth Rank.
Retracting his gaze from the distant trio of Star River Ships, Song Chi turned his attention back to the Big Dipper Main Hall he had glimpsed earlier.
He murmured to himself, “So it truly was pinpoint teleportation. If that’s the case, the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall likely qualifies as a Colorful Mythical Quality Starry Sea Oddity!”
Having been part of the Shaking Light Star Tower for so many years, Song Chi fancied himself relatively knowledgeable about the tower. In his view, based solely on the Shaking Light Star Tower’s Quality, it was highly probable to be of Black Supreme Level, far surpassing mere Gold Quality.
Based on this reasoning, he had naturally speculated about the Quality of the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall with its seven subsidiary towers, though he had never been certain that it could indeed be a Colorful Mythical Quality Strange Object.
Today’s pinpoint teleportation, coupled with the teleportation backlash potent enough to overwhelm even his Peak Fifth Rank Guidance Technique, finally solidified his suspicion: the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall must undeniably be a Colorful Mythical Quality Strange Object!
However, the exact classification—whether Lower Rank, Upper Rank, or Extreme Position—remained indeterminable.
Lost in thought, Song Chi noticed that the Chasing Stars and Moon had already flown close to the three Star River Ships.
“Is the one in the center the Big Dipper Main Hall’s Star River Ship?”
Observing the Chasing Stars and Moon heading toward the central vessel, Song Chi softly muttered these words. Unexpectedly, the remark was overheard by Bai Mei standing beside him.
Moments later, Song Chi’s ears were graced with Bai Mei’s calm explanation.
“The center vessel belongs to the Big Dipper Hall’s Greedy Wolf Palace Master. The one on the right is the Xian Qin Dynasty’s Shangdang Shang Family’s Ancient Qin King Pillar. The leftmost one is the Star River Ship of the Holy Hall Federation.”
Heeding the explanation, Song Chi gave a slight nod, becoming increasingly certain that Bai Mei hailed from a background far exceeding his expectations.
Ten minutes later, Song Chi and a dozen others were disembarked from the Chasing Stars and Moon battleship.
Due to having their Spectral Energy sealed within their bodies, they were required to remain here for a day before formally entering the secret realm located behind the trio of Star River Ships.
They were not alone in this; it was evident that captains were waiting ahead of the other two Star River Ships as well. Clearly, it wasn’t only the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall mobilizing personnel—similar efforts were occurring on the other sides too.
Following recent inquiries and Bai Mei’s explanation, Song Chi had learned that these two forces were no small matter either.
The Holy Hall Federation’s Star River Ship aside, the Shangdang Shang Clan, originating from the Xian Qin Dynasty, was undeniably a formidable entity. According to some information Song Chi had come across earlier:
The Shangdang Shang Clan had been instrumental in founding the Xian Qin Divine Dynasty alongside the royal family of the Ying Clan, earning its place as a legitimate “Dragon-Attendant” family. With a lineage spanning over two hundred thousand years, the Shang Family was rumored to possess at least three publicly known Star River Ships, making it one of the pinnacle Immortal Giant Forces.
Judging by the Shangdang Shang Clan’s caliber and that of the Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall, it was clear that the Holy Hall Federation’s Eighth-Rank Star River Ship was also far from simple.
Originally, Song Chi had anticipated spending a peaceful day under the watchful presence of the three esteemed Star River Ship captains. Yet unexpectedly, an incident soon unfolded—one that was inextricably linked to him.
The matter began with a male Shang Clan member who took the initiative to approach them.
The individual’s Spectral Energy had similarly been sealed, leaving little discernible about him. However, his target was unmistakably Bai Mei beside Song Chi.
“Little Mei, so you’ve taken on a mission too?”
Seeing the man’s face light up with an exuberant smile, Song Chi initially assumed the two shared a good relationship—until he caught sight of Bai Mei’s already frosty expression growing even colder.
Faced with the male Shang Clan member’s friendly greeting, Bai Mei turned her head indifferently, offering neither a reply nor the slightest hint of acknowledgment.
Up to this point, nothing could yet be considered an “incident.” But as Bai Mei’s evident disdain became increasingly observable, it seemed the Shang Clan man either failed to notice or deliberately ignored it, persistently thick-skinned as he approached her even closer, as though he aimed to carry out some kind of an imposition.
Unable to stand idly by any longer, Song Chi decisively moved forward, his right leg stepping out to block the man’s path.
He did not utter a word, but his unwavering stance conveyed enough.
From a smiling countenance in front of Bai Mei to an irritable scowl directed at Song Chi, the Shang Clan man’s shift in expression was remarkably swift. Displaying visible annoyance, he sneered coldly:
“Who do you think you are to stand in my way?”
This time, Song Chi did not remain silent. He held his ground and retorted sharply:
“Self-awareness is a virtue. Her disinterest is crystal clear, yet you insist on disgracing yourself by lingering uninvited.”
With those words, Song Chi fixed an equally icy gaze upon the man.
Opposite him, Shang Jie’s expression turned as dark as storm clouds. Never in his life had he been spoken to in such a manner.
Who was Shang Jie? A son born late to a Seventh-Rank Star-Annihilating Starship Elder, with his ancestor being an Eighth-Rank Star River Ship patriarch of the Shang Clan. From birth until now, everyone had treated him with utmost reverence.
“Kid, playing the hero to impress the girl isn’t done this way. Some people aren’t someone you can afford—”
Before he could finish, a terrifying pressure descended upon Shang Jie. The next instant, a tremendous force hurled him through the air like a cannonball, rocketing into the cosmos. Eventually, it was the Shang Clan’s Star River Captain who intervened to retrieve him.
“Greedy Wolf, that was excessive…”
The Shang River Captain’s voice rang out, seemingly displeased with Greedy Wolf Palace Master’s actions.
Yet the Big Dipper Hall’s Greedy Wolf Palace Master remained unwavering.
“Not every word can be uttered lightly. When our Big Dipper Seven Stars Hall fought for the human Torch civilization, your Shang Clan was tucked away at the rear, barking from safety!”
“Greedy Wolf!”
…
Within mere exchanges, the atmosphere grew tense, with the two Star River captains seemingly ready for a direct confrontation. As one of the involved parties, Song Chi couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread, fearing these two titans might actually disregard all rules to engage in battle.
This was, after all, the Alien Star Domain where the anti-internal conflict regulations of the Torch Human Civilization’s Four Great Empires did not apply. Moreover, with his Spectral Energy sealed, Song Chi was unable to summon his warship or access the Zhu Tian Ruins Market. Should he be caught in the crossfire, even a hundred lives wouldn’t suffice to escape unscathed.
Fortunately, thanks to the mediation of the Holy Hall Federation’s Star River Captain, the two titans ultimately ceased their escalating hostility.
Of course, this was mostly superficial. If a Star River Captain sincerely wanted to act, they could easily extinguish a reckless noble child like Shang Jie with a mere careless slip of intent.
At its core, this was likely just Greedy Wolf Palace Master casually disciplining a tactless spoiled brat.
As for Song Chi, at one point, he sensed Bai Mei glance toward him. Given her reticent personality, she couldn’t bring herself to verbally express gratitude, although Song Chi could still discern a faint trace of gratitude within her gaze.
With this minor interlude concluded, the remainder of the day passed without further incident.
Soon, the second day arrived.
As the three captains successively lifted the seal on everyone’s Spectral Energy, the surrounding starry space began to see an influx of additional Torch Warships.
When the final individual summoned their warship, the three Star River Captains voiced their instructions.
“Proceed inside. Remember, the secret realm carries immense danger. Prioritize your safety while exploring.”
These were among the brightest heirs of their respective forces, individuals whose deaths in large numbers would be deeply undesirable.
In unison, the participants acknowledged before dozens of warships surged toward the secret realm’s entrance.
When Song Chi’s turn arrived, Shang Jie seemed to be intentionally waiting for him. As Song Chi’s Heavenly Ruins Cang Qiong warship advanced, Shang Jie maneuvered his vessel to ram into it.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The piercing sounds of metal collision echoed. Shang Jie quickly entered the secret realm thereafter, as if this maneuver was merely his way of making a statement or taunting.
Within the main control room, a smirk of ridicule twisted Song Chi’s lips.
With his Double Pupils, every seemingly covert move from his adversary had been fully captured and deciphered.
