Chapter 3316 - Space Quakes

Chapter 3316: Space Quakes

The final moment had finally arrived.

Everybody in the fleet and the important facilities had been moved to the starships. Almost all the starships had retreated to a safe distance and deployed all their spiritual shields to ensure that the explosions would not cause any damage to them.

Since they were exploring a brand-new, dangerous, unknown space zone, such protective measures were reasonable. Shanuya did not grow suspicious. She continued patrolling in the sea of stars and sweeping the stone belts in accordance with the commands of the human beings. She paved a broad sailing route for the starships of the human beings and helped them clear the mines by triggering and blocking all the possible threats with her strong body.

Through the brainwaves, it sent messages to the fleet of human beings time and time again. “Everything is normal. Secure. Forward. Everything is normal. Secure. Forward!”

A few fully-automatic self-driving starships, on the other hand, were floating toward it unhurriedly, ready to act as relay points to activate the ‘explosive hormones’ that had been buried inside its body.

Everybody in the fleet held their breath and watched the scene through the 3D light beam, watching the Void Hunter who had accompanied them for hundreds of years to the end of his life.

The human beings had complicated expressions.

Some of them were sighing, some were lamenting, some were hesitating, and some were wearing the craziness of ‘the spirit of all things’ on their faces. They believed that the obliteration of the Void Hunters was the real beginning of mankind’s rise in the sea of stars.

The dying old people might recall the days when they were jumping and playing in the wrinkles and ravines of Shannuya. The middle-aged people might recall the magnificent and soul-stirring scenes when they travelled through the four-dimensional space with the Void Hunters. The teenagers who were born in starships did not have any feelings for Shannuya. Human beings were not intelligent creatures with particularly good memories. No matter how strong their brain was, the space left for their memory cells was limited. Many things could be forgotten in decades.

Right now, they only remembered that they had a strong fleet, a sacred mission, and the glory of being the best of all creatures. They took everything that they were born with for granted. They had never experienced the days when human beings were shivering under the protection of the Void Hunters, and they despised such days as the greatest humiliation.

Now that the humiliation was about to pass, the teenagers all cheered.

Peipei was also watching the live stream of ‘Explosions’ in her cabin.

She knew that she should not be watching. She knew that she could not stand such a cruel scene at all, but she could not help but want to look at Shanuya one last time.

However, she regretted it the moment the light beam was activated. Shanuya knew nothing about the cruel fate. She was still waving her tentacles hard and sweeping the entire stone belt, before she triggered the life magnetic field and sent out invisible waves to scan the unknown space for lethal high-energy radiation.

Even for a Void Hunter, such a large-scale scanning and cleaning work was quite strenuous. Peipei noticed that glamorous red spots were gradually appearing on the surface of Shanuya’s grey body. The girl knew that it was a sign that the Void Hunters were running out of strength. Her father and the rest of them would certainly launch ‘Explosions’ when Shanuya was exhausted!

“Shanuya…”

Finally, Peipei could not hold back her tears any longer. She reached out and touched the illusionary Void Hunter on the light beam. “My prince, please, please—”

The girl did not know who or what she should pray to.

However, before she finished her sentence, the picture suddenly twisted weirdly.

In the unknown space zone in front of him, in an abyss that seemed to be made of ink, a weird, colorful flash suddenly appeared.

The movement of all the tentacles of Shanuya came to an abrupt halt. The instinct of a Void Hunter made it foresee a certain sign of extreme danger. All its tentacles were raised high and turned crimson.

The fleet of human beings that was hiding not far away seemed to have been whipped, too. Many starships even shivered slightly.

Then, before anybody figured out what was going on, thousands of streaks of brightness suddenly darted out of the unknown space zone!

Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!

Thousands of streaks of gold brightness lunged at the human beings’ fleet like a rain of arrows.

Without thinking, Shanuya opened all her tentacles and stood in front of the fleet of human beings, using its primitive and tough flesh as the first defense line.

The golden brightness was unstoppable. Countless tentacles were riddled with holes. Some of them were even cut off and floating away.

The gold brightness passed through Shanuya’s limbs and continued marching toward the human beings’ fleet. But it was much thinner than before. Colorful ripples were spreading out on the spiritual shields of the human beings’ fleet, allowing everybody to see what they looked like. They were life forms that were somewhere between energy and matter. At first glance, they looked like crystal deep-sea ribbonfish. Of course, they were much larger than real ribbonfish and often between three to five kilometers in length. They were known as ‘Gold Threadfish’.

The sea of stars was vast, and there were countless alien species. Among the bizarre-shaped species, the gold-threaded fish were the most unpredictable. Some scientists even suspected that they were not living creatures at all but radiation waves in a special form.

Generally speaking, the ‘character’ of the Gold Line Fishes was not fierce. They were not the natural enemies of the human fleets. They liked to hide among the stone belts and cosmic storms. When they sensed the fleet of human beings occasionally, they would run away without any hesitation. Today, the Gold Line Fishes had gathered together and attacked the fleet of human beings without caring about the spiritual shield or the annihilation of the fleet of human beings.

No. If one were to observe carefully, they would discover that the gold-threaded fish were not coming for the fleet of human beings. Instead of saying that their purpose was to assault the fleet of human beings, it was more accurate to say that they had lost their heads in panic and did not care what was on their way of escape. They simply kept running!

What kind of threat could have made the Gold Line Fish so desperate? It must be noted that the special life-forms in between matter and energy liked the complicated, ever-changing environment and the ferocious cosmic storms best. The harsher the environment and the more intense the radiation was, the more active they would be.

But right now, even the Gold Line Fish could not stand it any longer and were fleeing in groups. What kind of terrifying threat was that?

At this moment, the flashes from the unknown space zone were more and more frequent and intense. One could clearly see the alternating colors of red and blue sweeping everything like raging flames.

“Spacequake!”

Seeing the scene, many experienced old men were greatly shocked and screamed.
