"Congratulations on the new store opening, Boss Lin! I’ve been so busy lately that I couldn’t find the time to come by. My apologies."
"It’s fine."
Lin Shen asked softly.
"So what brings you here today?"
"I mainly wanted to see Ping."
Shen Mingchuan smiled sheepishly.
"I haven’t seen her in a while, and I’ve really missed her. But she kept saying she was busy and couldn’t get away, so I thought I’d drop by the store... How come I don’t see her around?"
"I’ve assigned her to be the manager of another store."
’Another store?’
Shen Mingchuan froze for a moment, then asked with curiosity.
"Which one?"
"Meow Star in Wujiaochang."
’Meow Star?!’
Shen Mingchuan’s heart skipped a beat when he heard the name.
As a former Cat Cafe owner himself, he had certainly heard of this place—it was the most famous comprehensive pet society in all of Modu.
He had even made a special trip to visit it and learn from their experience before opening his own shop.
And now, the man behind Meow Star was actually Lin Shen?
Shen Mingchuan asked, his face a mask of astonishment.
"You acquired it?"
"Yes. It’s now the flagship store for the Shennan Pet Society."
Lin Shen chuckled lightly.
"Lin Ping’s performance has been outstanding and she’s a very capable worker, so I sent her to watch over that store for me. It gives me peace of mind."
"Is that so..."
Hearing that Lin Ping wasn’t here, Shen Mingchuan’s heart sank with disappointment and a hint of worry.
Lin Shen’s arrangement was a huge step up for her career!
Before, Shen Mingchuan had felt that Lin Ping had no income and a low social standing.
He thought he could use the pressure from those two factors to force her to remarry him, giving Anan a stable home environment.
But now that she was the manager of the former Meow Star, not only would her status rise, but her salary would probably skyrocket too!
This meant that any thought Lin Ping might have had about remarrying him was probably gone by now!

With that, Shen Mingchuan put on a fawning smile and spoke with a hint of pleading in his voice.
"Boss Lin, could you possibly give Ping the day off tomorrow? I’d like to take her out shopping."
’Shopping?’
Lin Shen paused. He suddenly remembered Lin Ping telling him that September 17th was her wedding anniversary with Shen Mingchuan.
Shen Mingchuan would surely ask her out then and use the opportunity to propose they get back together.

"Business at that store has been good lately, so we’re short-staffed during the day. As for after she gets off work, well, I have no right to interfere with her personal life."

"To be honest with you, Boss Lin, I’m planning to remarry Lin Ping."

"Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. When I confess my feelings to her, she’ll definitely say yes!"
"Is that so."
The smile on Lin Shen’s face was full of hidden meaning.
"Well, I wish you success."
"Thanks!"
With that major concern off his mind, Shen Mingchuan cheerfully started asking Lin Shen for advice on running a Cat Cafe.
"Boss Lin, if you don’t mind my asking... with business this good, how much does your store make in a day?"
"Not much. Revenue is around forty thousand, I think. I don’t remember the exact figure."
’Forty thousand?!’
The number truly stunned Shen Mingchuan. His eyes went wide with disbelief.
Forty thousand was the total monthly revenue his own Cat Cafe used to make!
And Lin Shen was now making that much in a single day?

Shen Mingchuan was overcome with envy. He even felt that selling the store for four million had been a massive loss!
Assuming a fifty-percent profit margin, that was six hundred thousand a month. He could make back his investment in just one year!

The only thing Shen Mingchuan could do now was get on Lin Shen’s good side and see if he could ride his coattails to riches.
"Boss Lin, you have an incredible talent for business! To think a Cat Cafe could pull in forty thousand a day."
Shen Mingchuan gave Lin Shen a thumbs-up. After a round of flattery and bootlicking, he rubbed his hands together and chuckled.
"I was wondering, do you have any plans to open more branches? I have experience as a Cat Cafe manager! I also have some capital on hand. We could open a store as a joint venture! A fifty-fifty split on the profits, what do you say?"
