Chapter 290 - : Knowing the Truth (1)
Chapter 290: Knowing the Truth (1)
It had not been easy to grab hold of something from Mu Tingfeng which Zhao Youlin could use against him. So, she did not plan to give up on it so soon. “Of course! We could always return the goods if we are not satisfied with them, much less humans. So, President Mu, you really have to work harder. Otherwise, I might really give up on you.”
When Zhao Youlin said this, she glared at Mu Tingfeng smugly. She snorted, “I remember there is a saying for this. Oh, yes! It’s called that things have changed now. I am no longer the same previous Zhao Youlin who had to rely on others to survive and couldn’t even take charge of things on my own. As my mother mentioned, with my current family background, even if I have Joy, there are still a large group of men lining up to be with me. President Mu, if you don’t work harder, you could be squeezed out by others… mhm…”
Before Zhao Youlin finished speaking, her mouth was sealed by the man who had been waiting patiently.
Zhao Youlin was stunned. Even though she wanted to push away the man who always pressed his lips against her, making her swallow her own words, as well as taking advantage of her, she decided to let it slip this once, given that the certain one had been suffering from his injuries for a long time. She could only glare at him to vent out her satisfaction.
There was the suggested intent of punishment in the way Mu Tingfeng kissed her deeply. It was completely different from the slight tastings from the past. Even if she had been kissed multiple times, Zhao Youlin felt like she could not quite handle this.
After they finished kissing, Zhao Youlin laid on Mu Tingfeng’s body as if resigned to her destiny. She vented out her anger by stretching out her hand to pinch Mu Tingfeng’s waist.
Mu Tingfeng’s eyebrows twitched a little. He still gripped one of Zhao Youlin’s hands tightly. He remained expressionless as he said, “Even though you said you could always return the goods if you’re not satisfied with them, I’m sorry. Some goods are not returnable once sold… like me…”
Zhao Youlin froze. She looked up and saw his serious face. She suddenly burst out into laughter. She reached out and lifted Mu Tingfeng’s chin up. She said flirtatiously, “President Mu, do you mean you’re ready to offer yourself to me?”
“Not for sale, it’s a gift. The same goes…” Mu Tingfeng’s gaze moved along Zhao Youlin’s finger and looked into her eyes. He said firmly, leaving no room for any refusal, “This is the price you have to pay for causing me to become like this in the first place. You must compensate it with yourself.”
Zhao Youlin narrowed her eyes. She said coldly, “President Mu, you’re truly a businessman who wouldn’t deal with businesses that bring losses to you. You even want to dig out and settle the accounts from the past. Indeed, there are no honest businessmen in this world.”
Mu Tingfeng did not deny it. He said rightfully, “I am a businessman. A businessman’s greatest strength is to know how to use his favorable conditions for his own benefit. Regardless of whether I use a new account or an old account, I want only a good result.”
Zhao Youlin thought to herself, ‘In other words, is he saying that he is determined to blackmail me?’
Zhao Youlin rolled her eyes helplessly. She did not bother to continue with the scoundrel.
However, Zhao Youlin apparently forgot how a scoundrel got their name. It was because they were more thick-skinned than most people…
When Mu Tingfeng noticed Zhao Youlin did not continue to speak further, he concluded the matter on his own. “It seems like we have reached a consensus about this.”
Zhao Youlin fell speechless. She had truly underestimated how shameless the man actually was.
“However, before this, there is one thing which I think I need to clarify in order to prove my innocence.”
“What is it?”
Mu Tingfeng looked at Zhao Youlin intensely. He lowered his head, leaned closer to Zhao Youlin and whispered in her ear, “About my dysfunction in a certain area. Youlin, I think… it’s best if you personally experience it.”
“Huh?!” Zhao Youlin shouted. Before she had time to think about the underlying meaning of Mu Tingfeng’s words, he had already pulled her hand which was in his grip and slowly moved downward… all the way down until…
Zhao Youlin’s mind went blank for a few seconds when her fingertips felt an unusual temperature and hardness.
By the time she finally realized what she had been touching with her hand that had been pulled by Mu Tingfeng, veins were visibly seen popping on Zhao Youlin’s fair forehead.
She held back her urge of crushing that thing under her hand. She gritted her teeth and screamed, “Mu! Ting! Feng! You darn scum!”
A crisping sound along with a woman’s furious scream rang throughout the ward, and even the entire corridor on the third floor.
Mighty Secretary Xia was rushing back in a hurry because of certain issues. When he heard the commotion, he immediately paused mid-stride. He looked at the ward entrance not far away from him timidly.
While he was still hesitating if he should turn back until the fuss died down, a figure dashed out in a fit of rage from the ward.
The expression on Xia Zhetao’s face stiffened. He smiled dryly and greeted the person, “Hi, Ms. Zhao, why did you come out? Why don’t you stay inside for a while longer?”
Zhao Youlin was still very angry. She ignored Xia Zhetao’s smile, the sort of smile to curry favor with her. She glared at him fiercely and walked past him swiftly. She vanished in front of Xia Zhetao in just a moment.
Xia Zhetao was frightened by Zhao Youlin’s glare. He reached out to touch his poor little heart.
Sobs, within a short period of time after he left, why had Ms. Zhao turned out to be like this? Had she been agitated by something in the ward?
When Xia Zhetao recalled Zhao Youlin’s murderous gaze, he truly felt that he was dragged into a trap innocently no matter where he was. ‘Sobs, I feel so aggrieved… I feel so sad… I feel so bitter…!’
While Xia Zhetao was standing outside the door, feeling pity and sorry for himself, he abruptly heard a cold voice coming from the ward, “How much longer do you want to stand outside?”
Xia Zhetao was so shocked that he literally jumped. He nearly flung away the things which he carried in his hands. He sucked in a deep breath and regulated his breathing rate before he walked into the ward.
“P-P-President, what happened to your face?” Although he was already well-prepared, he could not help but exclaim in surprise when he saw the visible five finger marks on the president’s face.
Right after Xia Zhetao spoke, he nearly wanted to bite off his own tongue. Judging from the commotion heard outside the ward a while ago, needless to say, the former Mrs. President was the one who contributed to the reddened finger marks on the president’s face.
But, then again, the former Mrs. President was so daring that she not only slapped the president once, but twice! On top of that, the president was not angry at all.
So, could this be the typical example of a…henpecked husband?
While Xia Zhetao was imagining all the nonsensical things, he did not realize that the temperature inside the ward had unknowingly dropped to zero degree celsius.
“Did you come back just to tell me about such irrelevant things?”
‘President, you have been slapped. How could such a thing be regarded as irrelevant?!’
Xia Zhetao had wished to say that. But, he still treasured his own life.
After faking a cough, the clever mighty secretary Xia decided to shift the topic. “O-Of course not, President Mu. The results about the things which you’ve asked me to re-investigate previously are out.”
