Alex could see the struggle on Ronron’s face on the fourth day as the strength of the suppressive aura slowly reached and started crossing what she could bear. It had been six hours into day four, so Ronron wanted to hold out for as long as she could, but her defeat here today was inevitable.
In the seventh hour, she could no longer continue and finally collapsed.
The moment her palms touched the floor, it was almost as if all pressure vanished from her, allowing her to normally get back up.
Ronron took a few deep breaths as she pulled back from the fatigue she had felt after all this time. She turned toward Helen and Liz, both of whom were beginning to show beads of sweat on their foreheads, but could last much longer than her.
"I’ll see you guys later," Ronron said and left.
For her troubles, she had managed to earn 79 stars, which was quite good.
The reason Ronron had lost while Helen and Liz weren’t close to losing had mostly to do with their body cultivation, which the other two women had a longer time to train.
While Ronron was busy assisting the Sky God, the other two women were free to eat the fruit of the Tree of Life and improve their body cultivation with the elixir. Ronron hadn’t really had that opportunity just yet.
It would be a while before she got to make use of that.
After she left, Alex looked at his aunt and mother, both of whom were sure to lose either today or the next day.
Elixir gave diminishing returns based on how much one consumed, so while Ronron hadn’t gotten the opportunity to consume a lot, her body cultivation hadn’t been that much lower than the other two. Maybe by three or four realms at most.
And the aura was going to reach that level by the end of the day, no doubt.
Alex watched the two struggle throughout the rest of the day, but considering people were dropping out every other minute this day, it wasn’t a surprise when Liz was knocked out first, followed by his mother.
Both of them lasted enough to earn over 90 stars, but while they wanted much more, they could not get it.
Liz left first as she was knocked out before Helen. And then, some time later, Helen stood to leave as well.
"Are you done?" Alex asked. "I will leave as well."
"Huh?" Helen sounded surprised. "Why?"
Alex looked toward her. "I mean, there isn’t really a point to me staying here at all. And you guys might want to head over to some other trial soon."
Helen shook her head. "I doubt I want to go anywhere else after this. I want to rest more than anything. So just take your time here. We will leave once you’re done."
Alex thought for a bit and accepted his mother’s words.
Helen left with her stars, and Alex remained on the platform alone, surrounded by fewer than a thousand people now.
By the end of the fourth day, over 2000 people had been knocked out, leaving behind only 700 or so people, with the strength of the aura being at the Immortal Transcendent 6th realm now and continuing to increase still.
Alex felt the suppressive pressure, but due to his body cultivation being in the Divine realm, he felt pretty much nothing at all. He looked around at the others sitting inside the platform, checking how they were doing, as he wondered how long this was going to continue for.
Outside, Ronron and the rest seemed to be resting still, so he didn’t need to get out right away.
The entire day passed, and the strength of the suppressive aura had gotten so much stronger that most of the people on the platform were forced to leave. The ones that still remained numbered fewer than 20 at the moment.
The strength of the suppression had now reached as high as the Immortal Spirit 3rd realm, so not many could survive. Of those that did, Alex was one of the only two people who were able to do so while still being in the Immortal Transcendent realm.
The other one was an older cultivator, who Alex could sense was using some sort of technique similar to his Spirit Reversal technique to stay up. It wouldn’t be long before he was knocked out as well.
When the strength of the suppressive aura increased to the Immortal Spirit 4th realm on the sixth day, two people were knocked out, leaving behind 18. Neither of those two were the older man.
Then the strength reached the fifth realm a few hours later, and four people were knocked out, this time including the man.
Aside from Alex, there were now 13 people in there in total, each one of whom had a cultivation base in the Immortal Spirit 4th realm or higher.
When the aura’s strength increased the next time, it dropped out three more people, leaving 11 in total. At that point, Alex could feel the burden of the suppressive aura on himself too. It wasn’t a bother or anything, but he could tell how strong it was.
Fang Xianhai and Han Yifei were still facing the suppressive aura with relative ease, but the others were starting to feel the pressure. At any moment, they would get knocked out for sure.
When the strength of the aura reached the Immortal Spirit 6th realm, Alex expected a few of the remaining cultivators to get knocked out, but to his surprise, none of them did.
In fact, some of them even appeared to be much more relaxed now, no longer as suppressed as they had been just moments earlier. Which was in complete contrast to the fact that the stronger cultivators like Fang Xianhai and Han Yifei were struggling still.
Alex wondered for a moment if these people were cheating somehow, only to remember something just then.
Each one of these people had Divine Qi inside their body right now.
And as of this moment, they were using just that.
