Chapter 3662: Technique Progress
Chapter 3662: Technique Progress
"Would Grandpa have been able to help me in this instance?" Pearl asked as he handed over a talisman that detailed his White Tiger’s Dominating Body technique.
"No," Alex answered. "Your grandfather doesn’t have a Wood root. That technique would’ve been useless for him, even though he has the Dao of Techniques."
"I suppose that is true," Pearl said, letting out a soft sigh. "Well, hopefully you can do something with it, brother."
Alex nodded.
The technique Pearl used was a bloodline technique that only the White Tigers could use. As such, it would be impossible for him to make use of it in any way. Hopefully, he didn’t need to cultivate to actually understand how this technique worked.
So long as he managed to simply obtain the knowledge he needed from it, he could alter it to be mixed with the other technique and be used together.
Once Pearl left, Alex began his cultivation session once again, this time using the technique Pearl gave him.
And somehow, when the Metal Qi made its way into his dantian, and his body began glowing a dull golden color, Alex couldn’t help but be surprised by it. He quickly stopped cultivating for a moment to check on himself before continuing.
His body drew in Qi once again, and his body glowed a dull golden color as well. This was the exact thing that happened when Pearl cultivated.
"Could it be..."
Alex felt stupid in that moment for not having realized it before. The main requirements for being able to use a technique from any of the Heavenly Beasts were twofold.
First, one needed a decent bloodline concentration, which Alex had at the moment. And the second was a Supreme root.
He currently had both of them.
"I can’t believe I didn’t realize it," he said, more surprised than anyone else would’ve been in that moment. "I can use Pearl’s cultivation technique."
With it, he would likely gain the same benefits as Pearl did when he cultivated, which was that his body cultivation would improve at a similar rate to his Qi cultivation.
Considering just how much further ahead his body cultivation was, this was a useless thing for him at the moment.
Of course, that didn’t mean it would be useless forever. Once his cultivation base caught up with his body cultivation, he could start using it afterward to improve it alongside.
Alex then began wondering what else he could possibly do now that he had the Heavenly Beast’s bloodline. Could he start cultivating using the others’ cultivation techniques?
"No, I need a Supreme root, don’t I?" Alex thought.
In most cases, so long as someone had a concentrated bloodline, they also had the Supreme root. However, since Alex had gained the bloodline instead of being born with it, his spiritual roots hadn’t improved that way. They had indeed reached a Superior grade, but making that push to becoming a Supreme grade was impossible from the looks of it.
He thought of asking Scarlet for her technique just to test it, but that was something for later. He had to focus on cultivating for now and understanding as much as he could from the technique.
Over the course of the next year, Alex spent all of his free time training with these two techniques while gaining as much knowledge as he could regarding the two of them.
Alex had gotten quite familiar with the two techniques and was close to being able to combine them. But before he even got to that, he could already see the issues that would come from what he was going to make.
From the White Tiger’s technique, he was likely going to lose the effect that made one’s body cultivation improve. At the same time, from the Tempest’s Wrath technique, he was going to lose its tempestuous strength, as though it were making a storm right there in the room.
If Alex wanted to keep either of those, he was going to have to start all over and learn more about them, so he could understand the inner intricacies and successfully combine the two techniques.
That way, he would likely be able to keep the uniqueness of both techniques.
So, Alex was ready for it to take even longer now, which he was fine with, since he was still cultivating even when using just those two techniques. And in between those techniques, he was adding onto his Origins, slowly filling them all.
He needed to do that before he seriously cultivated anyway, so this was perfectly fine for him.
As Alex continued using the techniques and trying to merge them, the work he was given by the Sky God also came to a slow end. There were still many he had to get to, but those were all from outside of the realm, so he didn’t need to get to them right away.
Messages had been sent to all, so they would send their information over the course of the next century, and Alex could simply get to them in his free time.
Once Alex didn’t need to spare any of his time for it, he thought of entering another closed cultivation. However, before he could, the Sky God arrived to meet him again.
"Thank you for everything you’ve done. My people have never been happier. Everyone is reporting positive results after they employed your instructions," the Sky God said.
Alex smiled. "I’m happy to hear that. Is my master still cultivating?" he asked.
The Sky God nodded. "It’s unlikely she will leave her closed cultivation before the gods start arriving in a few decades’ time."
Alex was happy for Bladedance. She needed this.
"Anyway," the Sky God continued. "I came here today to keep my promise regarding the second half of your rewards that you have yet to receive."
Alex’s eyes widened immediately as he realized what was happening.
"Do I get to meet Senior Yang Renye now?" he asked the woman before him.
The Sky God nodded. "Tomorrow morning, I shall accompany you to his courtyard."
