The Primordial energy in Alex's body vanished the moment he made the request. Not only that, but an equal amount of Qi was taken away from him as well. Heaven had certainly heard his demand and exacted a price for said demand.
Whether that had done anything or not remained to be seen.
Alex returned from the white space and looked around at the place, trying to understand his situation more clearly. Had anything happened at all?
"I don't feel any different."
Unlike the Sun God's energy, which didn't get used up if it couldn't do something, the Primordial energy was different. It would be entirely wasted in an attempt to do the thing one wanted, and even if it failed, the energy would be used up.
Alex was left unsure if there was any result at all. There was just one way to find out, so he went ahead and started cultivating.
As soon as Alex did so, he immediately felt the change. The Yin root now worked so much better than it ever had. Qi that arrived at the Yin root was no longer in a state of push and pull against his own body, and the root could easily handle it.
Sensing his body's lack of effect on the Yin root was certainly a liberating feeling. It was akin to a barrier forming around the root that stopped it from being affected by anything else.
It was the first time since he upgraded it that his Yin root ever got to act like a proper Supreme root.
Once his cultivation session came to an end, Alex finally saw the result of this new change, which was both what he expected and yet a massive surprise at the same time.
At the lowest, the score from the formation this time around was a staggering 922.
At the highest, the score reached as high as 2405.
And on average, where his baseline was at 1758, the Supreme Yin root helped Alex reach a score of 1452.
The shock Alex felt at those numbers was visible on his face.
"The highest is higher than my baseline. Even if I ignore it, the average is also only 300 less than my baseline average," Alex thought. "Considering I have 7 other types of roots missing, how is such a high number possible?"
There was also the issue of how long this change of his with the Yin root was going to last. There was no guarantee that it was a permanent change. In fact, he would bet that it was a temporary thing instead, given how much of his energy was taken away.
But so long as the change lasted long enough for him to gain all the information he needed from this test, he would be more than happy.
Alex redid the test with the Supreme Yin root once more, this time with a cultivation pill. As expected, however, the changes that came from using a pill were something Alex understood well enough now that he could practically guess the answer.
There really was no need for consuming the pill anymore since it only made bigger what was already big. The regular cultivation numbers were enough of an answer for him.
Alex had planned on doing all the rest of the tests for the Supreme roots, just as he had for the regular roots, but he surprisingly came across issues he hadn't even expected before.
Firstly, there was no way to improve his Yin root since it was already at the Supreme grade, so that test was unneeded. Then, Alex tried to weaken the Yin root, but that too turned out to be impossible. The pill he ate to weaken his Supreme Yin root just wasn't strong enough. He hadn't realized that would be the case at all.
He then tested his Yin root alongside his regular root and found that made no difference either. His Yin root overshadowed his regular root so much that the improvement he got from it was in single digits.
Then, at last, he ate a pill to turn his regular root into a Yin root and cultivated with two of them. But that result came out mediocre as well. His Yin root was already the strongest it could be. Adding another one did not help in the slightest at all.
In fact, it was almost as if his Supreme Yin root handled everything, so the regular Yin root had nothing to do at all, making it practically useless.
After the few tests were done, Alex took his time to think through the results again. His surprise with the Supreme root was big, but perhaps it needn't have been. The only ones he knew to have Supreme roots were the Heavenly Beasts, and those beasts were certainly among the most talented cultivators out there.
Another talented set of people with Supreme roots was anyone with the Sky God's physique. Both the current Sky God and Ronron had incredible talent, which frankly could not only be associated with their regular potential. Some of it had to be attributed to their Supreme Wood Root.
"And yet… despite all of that, it is my mother who has the better talent," Alex thought. Her Unity was likely higher than everyone else's, allowing her to train faster and have greater talent. She had even beaten Pearl, who had 2 different Supreme roots.
Pearl was having some problems with his cultivation speed lately, which Alex wondered might have had an effect on his score back then. He would certainly find out soon once he kept the tests going.
Alex was in a dilemma on whether or not to remove his Yin root at this point. If he did, would the next root he regenerated be safe from his body? What if only this root was affected because of what he asked it to do?
"Argh! I guess I have no other option then."
Because of the lack of information he had, Alex could only cut out the Yin root and keep it safe to later transplant it back into his body.
That was the safest option out of all.
