Others thought about it and agreed. They couldn’t quite destroy this world and all of its affinities. At best, they would only cause serious trouble for many eras, nothing truly lasting in the grand scheme of things.
“Unfortunately, immortals are around, hence the need for more in Survivor Realm.” Godfiend struggled to speak.
“That’s a fair statement, but as far as I can see, no outsiders have come close to destroying your Survivor Realm. You were the closest.” Li Qiye said.
It was hard for him to argue against the truth. If it weren’t for Li Qiye, Survivor Realm would have been no more.
“Let’s say that the ascension was successful and you repelled all outsiders, would that make you this world’s savior?” Li Qiye asked.
“Yes.” Godfiend agreed, as this had always been his goal.
“Then you think too highly of yourself. If you truly care for this world, you would leave it afterward.” Li Qiye
“Why?” He didn’t understand.
“As the savior of this world, you must live on but no immortals live forever, whether they be the fake or true ones. There’s a great price for everlasting life.” Li Qiye said.
“Hmm...” The group contemplated.
“One day, you will believe that your mission is of utmost importance. Alas, your lifespan is running out, so there is a choice to make.” Li Qiye said.
“What choice?” He asked.
“Survivor Realm probably has a few billion living beings. If you can eat thirty million and prolong your life, is that a worthy trade for a perpetual savior?” Li Qiye smiled.
“Well...” Godfiend didn’t wish to lie and delved deeper into his heart.
“What about other means?” Gold Talisman couldn’t help but ask.
“It’s possible to grow a special ginseng here, but that would take more energy than this world can handle, several great veins. These veins are enough to gestate trillions of lives, so is it easier to devour thirty million people or the ginseng?” Li Qiye smiled.
“...” Gold Talisman couldn’t respond.

The others fell into silence.
“I deserve to die, kill me.” Godfiend said.
“Is death enough as atonement?” Li Qiye smiled.
“What else then?” He didn’t expect this answer.
“Dwell on this for a while.” Li Qiye said before sealing him in the deepest location of the monastery.
