He froze for a second and said: “Rest assured, I will reveal what I know.”
“Drink first.” Li Qiye said.
He heaved a sigh of relief and sat down, pouring another cup for Li Qiye. Although he was powerful in Survivor Realm, he couldn’t do anything against an immortal.
“What did your progenitor find?” Li Qiye asked.
“I actually don’t know the answer, but it must have something to do with Heavenfall.” He said: “The progenitor excavated it from Heavenfall Path and believed it was the key to reach the celestial realm. Therefore, he tried to break through but this turned out to be his last stand. I myself believed he found a celestial immortal’s remains.”
“Heavenfall’s.” Li Qiye said: “Your progenitor tried to use it to become a celestial immortal. It must have been a considerable ordeal.”
“The fortress might be here because of that commotion.” He speculated.
“And you are here to try to get it.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Sir, I won’t lie to you. The bone is at the monastery right now.” He told the truth.
“Want to steal it?” Li Qiye asked.
“Of course not, we have a great relationship with the monastery. It’s not easy to survive here, so we have to be united like brothers.” He said.
“Is that so?” Li Qiye smirked.
“It’s not what you think, Sir.” He felt a tingling on his scalp.
“I’m not thinking anything, I’m sure you will speak the truth.” Li Qiye said.
“Back then, after the explosion, the bone disappeared. We only knew about it recently and have no clue how the monastery obtained it.” He said.
“And now you want it back.” Li Qiye smiled.
“From the perspective of our sect, we do want it back. It’s just that both mortals and cultivators in Survivor Realm should stand together. Moreover, they did save our world, so we owe them. That’s why we never demanded it back.” He said.
“Then why are you here today? Just taking a stroll?” Li Qiye asked.
“Sir, I’m here today to persuade Godfiend Monarch to give up.” He said.
“Give up?” Li Qiye asked.
“I’ve received news that he wants to use the bone to become an immortal.” He sighed.
“Using external help is courting death, most of the time.” Li Qiye said.
“I worried the same disaster will happen again and destroy our world. The progenitor sacrificed himself and prevented total destruction. Now, no one will be able to stop it.” He said.
“It’s possible.” Li Qiye said.
“I’m not too confident in getting him to stop.” He said: “In that case, I will steal it. I know this will risk antagonizing our relationship and might result in war. Nevertheless, it’s still better than the alternative. I’ll become a sinner, but what other choice do I have?”
“This world shouldn’t have an immortal, the same for that fortress.” Li Qiye said.
“We don’t want to have outsiders looming over us either but we are too weak. If it weren’t for Desolate Immortal, we would have been destroyed already. Now, they still occasionally bring a large population of mortals away. From my estimation, they have at least two immortals right now in that fortress.”
