Lin Feng caressed the Eternal Dao Lotus one more time before taking it out of the earth and placing it on both his hands with its ethereal roots touching his palms.

Suddenly Lin Feng felt a piercing pain as if his soul was getting torn apart before it faded away.
Lin Feng took a small breath to calm himself, it definitely was the instinctive response of the Eternal Dao Lotus after finding itself inside a place which was no different than a restrictive barrier for it.
The fact that it stopped meant the Eternal Dao Lotus definitely knew what it was doing. This made Lin Feng feel relieved as this also meant that the hard part was over.
The only thing left was for it to take root in his soul sea. That would probably be somehow similar to how he fused with the Origin Dantian but this time, it was more like coexisting together.
There was a reason why he waited for the Eternal Dao Lotus to reach his realm first. It was to achieve a balance in their strength.
Taking root in his chaotic sea wouldn’t harm the Eternal Dao Lotus and he could also feed it chaos qi directly whenever he wanted, or maybe it could directly absorb chaos qi from his chaotic spiritual qi. It would be painful so he would rather not want it to do that.
The best part of all this would be that his cultivation speed wouldn’t be hindered at all, in fact it might increase far more if his assumptions were correct.
Advancing in Dao was a matter of comprehension and the Eternal Dao Lotus was the top treasure to comprehend all the Daos.
If he was able to see through those insights together then he might be able to comprehend chaos itself.
As he was thinking this, he saw the Eternal Dao Lotus finally dropping down till it reached his soul sea and finally its ethereal roots touched the mirror like surface of his sea.
The sensation he felt from this simple touch was quite unique. It was hard to describe it, it was neither painful nor comforting.
Next he saw the stem of the Eternal Dao Lotus going further down till its leaves touched the surface and finally it stopped and began floating like a lotus floating in a pond.
Lin Feng felt the mutual connection between them growing with every single breath and unexpectedly he felt something which surprised him beyond his imagination.
He shifted his perception inside his soul sea and saw that the roots of the Eternal Dao Lotus were growing and going deeper and deeper.
He didn’t have to think much about what it was trying to do as their intentions had already begun mingling with each other so he understood very clearly what it was trying to do.
Should he stop it or not? Lin Feng was in deep thought, if he let it continue then he didn’t know what the eventual result would be. He could only assume what would happen but the more he thought about it the more feasible it seemed.
In fact his interest was now piqued and he really wanted to see it through.
"Master, I might lose consciousness, don’t worry... everything would be fine..."
Lin Feng knew that he was going to feel unimaginable pain and there was a chance of him losing consciousness as his soul wouldn’t be spared either.
Xuan Xue frowned when she heard that but didn’t say anything, she had faith in his abilities and decided to suppress her worries.

"Unghh..." Even for Lin Feng it was immense sudden pain which was unbearable since this pain wasn’t something which came from a physical injury but directly from the soul.
Just as he had expected, his eyes blurred and he fainted. It might be a good thing for him because what was about to happen wouldn’t be pleasant anyway.
Xuan Xue immediately caught him from falling and after a little hesitation, she used her spiritual sense to see through his condition.
When she saw what was happening inside his body, she got stunned thoroughly.
The roots of the Eternal Dao Lotus were ethereal but they acted like material threads which wove through Lin Feng’s body like meridians.
They cut through his flesh and moved alongside his meridians. Slowly but gradually they advanced towards his dantian. It was as if Lin Feng’s body was getting an extra pair of meridians.
