Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5195: Depart This Place

Chapter 5195: Depart This Place

Venerable Knight Lussandra had felt no remorse since it was her duty to eliminate Divergents and all those who blocked her from doing her job, but when he asked her like this, her heart shook.

In the distance, Fairy Runalise’s heart also shook. She didn’t have enough strength to participate in this battle. Otherwise, she found it difficult to tell what choice she would’ve made.

Would she have helped the Celestial Transcendent or defended the Divine Emperor of Death?

"Oh? You’re now feeling guilt for it? How convenient at this moment."

Davis coldly worded out at her before turning her head again to the front as he still held her hostage.

He held her blue hair quite rudely as he kept a vice grip on it.

The urge to torture her and make her realize her mistakes swelled, but he forcefully suppressed it inside and cast a glance at the Celestial Transcendent.

"Don’t dally. Bring out the Stormheart Incarnation Prism and walk into it, or at the very least, I’m having her head. I might not be able to kill her, but with something like her lifeless head, I could karmically make her life a living hell without a problem."

"Fine, but just this avatar." The Celestial Transcendent harrumphed, "Then you have to release her and let her go."

"I’m not greedy. I know how to negotiate and not cross our bottom line. But she has to leave and not take part in this battle. Also, no tricks. Seal yourself instead of just putting on a show."

Davis said calmly. Unlike his earlier expression, there was no joy in his expression or a smirk in his eyes.

"Venerable Knight Lussandra, do not take part in this battle anymore. You lost."

The Celestial Transcendent said with narrowed eyes, causing Venerable Knight Lussandra to bite her lips. For the Celestial Transcendent to have called her Venerable Knight instead of Little Lussandra, she supposed she had disappointed him greatly by getting caught and taken hostage.

The Stormheart Incarnation Prism appeared.

With a wave of his hand, he abruptly shrank and shot into the Stormheart Incarnation Prism.

The golden lightning arcs within it turned golden-blue and began suppressing him, electrocuting him repeatedly, so that Davis could see his miniature figure clench his teeth and bear the pain of being roasted alive by divine lightning.

But after the sealing process appeared to be over, it didn’t increase its intensity as it held the Celestial Transcendent at bay, perpetually trapping him in a golden-blue lightning cocoon.

Davis pushed Lussandra away rudely and reached out his hand in an attempt to take the Stormheart Incarnation Prism, but it severely rejected him, causing him to harrumph.

He clenched his fist, gripping it with his soul force and imbuing it with death-energy concealment. He spun multiple times before he decisively threw it deep into the abyssal cavity.

He placed his hand above his eyes and tried to look how deep the cavity went, but it seemed endless as he still didn’t hear any ripples of sound or other factors. It must have already traversed billions of kilometers.

He sneered.

So what if he couldn’t forcefully bind it because it was tied to the Celestial Transcendent’s truesoul? He could delay another avatar from gaining it.

The Celestial Transcendent shouldn’t be able to find it quickly, at the very least, during the time he needed to finish what he planned to do.

*Whoosh!~*

Davis raised his head to look above.

He had just gotten rid of one avatar, but another one appeared, nearly making him want to scream like a lunatic.

"Lussandra, depart this place."

The Celestial Transcendent coldly spoke from above. His tone was as though he were berating a child.

Venerable Knight Lussandra still clutched her stomach with her hand. The regeneration wasn’t catching up due to her vitality at that precise location being reaped through the scythe intent she had little idea about. All she knew was that it was immensely difficult to heal, so she kept holding her stomach to prevent her guts from spilling out while doing her best to heal with the spores from her verdant wings.

However, she remained and gazed at Davis.

She didn’t move to retrieve the Stormheart Incarnation Prism either, just watching him.

To her, it didn’t make sense that he was able to reach the layer limit when he had just entered the Empyrean Stage two months ago.

"I’m also disappointed... and unwilling that I have to seal a person like yourself, a person who came out of his way to reverse the Desolate Era, but do our emotions matter in the face of what we swore to protect?"

"..."

Davis blinked indifferently, "I suppose not."

He supposed he wouldn’t have come here to do what he planned if he didn’t have a family to protect. Without a family, he could flee anywhere, so it didn’t matter if the entire three layers turned desolate or the eight rulers chased him. He could survive by himself.

But if he had to protect his family, he had no choice but to come here. Her words resonated with him, but he still couldn’t find it in himself to forgive her, even after beating her up nicely.

He had intended to slice apart her body, but she had blocked it well.

Venerable Knight Lussandra’s piercing gaze was still on him.

One could see that she still had a lot of fight left in her.

Davis himself knew he would have an extremely hard time if an archer kept targeting him from a distance while the Celestial Transcendent dealt with him. If that archer was someone like Venerable Knight Lussandra, he didn’t doubt that he would die quickly after making a mistake with the Hundred Voidroach Scatter escape technique.

It was in no way easy to deal with an Omega Exalt or an Absolute Primarch.

These were monsters, unwittingly suppressed by the layer limit. They couldn’t fully unleash their technique to their heart’s content. Hence, their place could be said to belong in the Greater Realm.

He could sense Venerable Knight Lussandra was a Level One Absolute Primarch, but her prowess alone put her above the layer limit. She had no choice but to suppress her prowess while unleashing her techniques. It was like trying to pour a single drop from an overflowing cup without spilling the ocean contained within while having all senses closed.

If too much is poured, they’re kicked out of the Three Layers. If the drop hung on the edge without falling, they’re as good as dead.

He felt like he wouldn’t be able to clear their differences without giving it their all, but all he needed was an apology from her to Illumina.

Venerable Knight Lussandra eventually turned around and left.

However, she didn’t exactly leave. She flew towards Fairy Runalise, descending beside her.

"Do you need help, senior?" Fairy Runalise asked with her blank gaze.

Venerable Knight Lussandra shook her head. She popped a High-Level Primarch Grade healing pill that counters death energy into her mouth and began meditating.

Davis finally took his gaze off her and looked up.

The rumbling of the storm grew heavier by the second. Amidst the dark clouds and the thundering flashes, the Celestial Transcendent’s expression was blank, but anyone could tell he was pissed beyond compare.
