Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5167: Trapped Lussandra

Chapter 5167: Trapped Lussandra

Confirming that the soul essence was really the Saint’s truesoul for the third time, Davis put his worries behind him.

Now, as long as he could successfully escape, he could take his time scouring through the memories, eat comprehension clouds, or just revive the Saint and let him experience a world of torture as he forces him to confess and apologize to Evelynn.

With the truesoul in his hand, Davis recognized that the number of red karmic threads on him was nearly innumerable. There were more than a hundred thousand, according to his initial estimate.

And these red threads were just the ones indicating that the women he had slept with were still alive.

’A hundred thousand married women...?’

Davis was momentarily taken aback as he stared at the empty space before him.

He really didn’t know if he should admire the Saint or curse him to death.

The majority of these women from the First Haven World, so for them to be still alive, Davis took this as a good sign that those who were kicked out of the First Haven World had mostly adapted and survived, although he didn’t know if they were living good lives.

Most cultivators didn’t live good lives, only adequate ones.

Nonetheless, his focus returned to the soul artifact, peering into the vast space it contained.

He saw Venerable Knight Lussandra try to move her hand in an attempt to remove the deathly scythe. She managed to hold the deathly blade, but it only caused her arms to freeze more. It was like she was fighting against being frozen.

The people who were absorbed inside, the bodyguards at the High-Level Primarch Stage, and others in the mansion also neared her, wanting to help, while some continued attacking the space or moving around, only to find themselves in the same area in an attempt to escape.

However, their confusion didn’t last long as they realized that they weren’t making it out.

On the other hand, before the High-Level Primarch Stage, cultivators could even ask Venerable Knight Lussandra if she needed their help; they saw her break it.

Once her meridians were replenished by the flow of energy after the strain caused by the Divine Technique ended, she practically smashed the curved blade with a clap, causing the scythe to disperse.

Davis’s lips twitched. This woman was quite scary to be able to fight against death energy without much fear in her eyes.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk..."

Davis clicked his tongue thrice as he began, his voice echoing inside Lussandra’s head in a mocking tone, "I expected you to come running to this woman’s aid like the righteous idiot you are. You thought you were doing well as you sought to eliminate scum, but all you managed to do was react after everything was over, stop a well-designed plan to seal me, give Saint Riyal Mendez to me on a silver platter, and then finally let me escape- yet again."

"Lussandra, oh Lussandra. Could it be that you are my lucky star?"

"..."

Venerable Knight Lussandra remained silent.

She looked up as though trying to see through the soul artifact and capture his figure.

However, she couldn’t see past the current space.

She was indeed sealed, unable to do anything for a brief amount of time. Hence, she decided she wouldn’t waste any energy trying to get out.

So what if the Divine Emperor of Death was going to escape?

Since he had revealed himself, every Heaven’s Warrior and every Divergent Hunter, as well as major powers, would come to this place to hunt him down. This time, they wouldn’t allow him to leave the realm.

Davis also saw that she wasn’t speaking and was trying to drag things out.

He laughed, "Lussandra, the Jillian you left behind was extremely delicious."

"...!" Venerable Knight Lussandra’s pupils finally revealed a hint of anger.

"I had the greatest feast after you left."

"You dare!?" She roared at that mocking voice.

"You tell me if I had dared or not."

Davis asked with some suspense, but it was the most rage-baiting nonsense Venerable Knight Lussandra had ever heard. She sneered.

"If you really dared, you’re just making it easier for us to kill you."

"Us?" Davis asked, his voice suddenly booming out louder, "You speak as though it isn’t easier on your conscience to hunt me when all you did was hunt me relentlessly as though you’re just waiting right beside me for me to appear and ambush. You don’t mind being counterambushed like I did now, right?"

"..." Venerable Knight Lussandra’s bosoms heaved with rage.

She didn’t respond but instead focused on healing her injury, although it wasn’t fatal since she dodged at the last second, avoiding her Divine Wheel getting ruptured, not that she believed he could rupture it with his current strength.

If that was the best he could do when all the distractions aligned for him to assassinate her, then he was far from defeating her.

"Silent again." Davis sighed, "You had so many chances to kill me, yet wasted all of them. Is there any Venerable Knight who was as useless as you in this galaxy’s history? Perhaps you’d top the charts when it comes to the entire universe. Ranked One Useless Heaven’s Warrior, Lussandra. Failed to get rid of the Desolate Divergent with one of the weakest cultivation bases among the current Divergents."

"..." Venerable Knight Lussandra looked up with a calm gaze, "Time is ticking. If you don’t flee, you wouldn’t be able to leave this city."

"Tsk, normal insults don’t seem to work. Should I bring Jillian into the conversation again?" Davis chortled evilly.

Venerable Knight Lussandra clenched her fist. The vertical line cutting across her abdomen began healing at a rapid rate as her verdant wings began emitting some kind of pores.

"You are truly hateful. What did you do to her? Where is she?"

Davis had the urge to laugh, "You still don’t understand? She practically shielded me from the Celestial Transcendent."

Venerable Knight Lussandra’s eyes narrowed, "You-! That can’t be the case. Since it’s you who possesses Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, controlling them like a puppet is not impossible for you. It is our fault that we missed clues in the City Lord’s Manor."

"Oh, I suppose since I have this power, my words will no longer hold as much weight as before..."

Davis agreed with a nod, "Indeed, I used this power a lot after coming here and getting myself familiar with this power in order to deal with the likes of you. It isn’t like you people are leaving me with numerous choices when we’re engaged in life-or-death battles. As for whom I used it on, it certainly wasn’t Jillian, but like this woman you tried to save just now- she didn’t even have a baby. I implanted false memories in her and corrupted her Will to merely choose the person she loves, and should that love be the Saint; to frame him for killing her baby. It was mostly intended for me to have a righteous reason as the City Lord to kill the Saint, gain his techniques, and escape, but you- haha- hahahaha- you just had to take the bait and kill him for me and also take care of Malzor Hexadra for me."

"You are wonderful. How can I repay this? Hahahaha!"

Davis couldn’t stop laughing, his laughter striking cords in Venerable Knight Lussandra that she nearly had veins popping in her forehead.

She was well aware that she fell into a trap when the Divine Emperor of Death ambushed her, but to hear it worded out like that made her furious.

Davis suddenly stopped laughing, his voice turning cold, "As I said before-"
