Chapter 4910 Finally Back Home
Chapter 4910 Finally Back Home
"Hmm, I'm back."
Davis responded with a hearty smile.
A grateful feeling swelled in his heart for being able to return to his place. Watching their relieved expressions also greatly comforted him. Thankfully, the time he spent away from them was short. He couldn't help but take a glance at Fairy Qiyra, who looked disinterested.
Without her, it would've really taken a long time to return, at which point the Celestial Transcendent might've well descended with his true body.
Evelynn stepped back and let the others interact with him while Mingzhi still held him as though recharging herself.
Isabella and the others hurriedly strode in to investigate him, seeing if he had any injuries on him. They kicked up a noise, both overjoyed for his return and worried for his health as Davis gave a brief account of what had taken place.
Stella jumped to her mother, glad to see that she had also made it back safely.
On the other hand, Evelynn's gaze fell on Zenova as she had seen them hand-in-hand through Davis's vision.
Zenova also noticed.
A victorious smile emerged on her lips as she placed her hand on her stomach and stroked it gently.
"…"
Evelynn's eyes slowly widened.
She understood instantly. Zenova was pregnant!
However, was she telling the truth- she couldn't tell, but she didn't think Zenova was the type to tell a lie. She would know if she asked Davis, but she didn't want to talk about this since he had just returned. Hounding him with uncomfortable topics was something she never initiated of her own volition, most of the time.
Her fists clenched lightly before she released them, not bothering to look at her anymore.
Instead, she looked at Illumina and the others, surprised that they really came out of the Nether Dimension. She didn't think she would see them soon. Then, she spotted Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries, making her eyes blink before she stepped forward.
Just as she neared them, another person greeted them.
"It's been a long time. By any chance, are you my new little sisters?" Tia skipped to them after skipping [past Davis.
Jade Aurora blinked before she smiled profoundly, "Yes, I'm your new little sister, his thirty-third wife, Jade Aurora."
"Oooh~"
Tia smiled teasingly at them, but inwardly, she was jumping with joy. She could barely hide her grin. She turned to look at Ivy Aries, "Does that mean you're the thirty-fourth?"
Ivy Aries pursed her lips, remaining silent.
Their gazes fell towards Davis, but seeing that he didn't cast a look over to them to confirm anything, Tia nodded.
"I see. Well, 'time' will tell as always, right?"
"Indeed." Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries nodded.
The two of them knew Tia was their firm supporter because Davis had exposed it, so they spoke with her jovially.
"…" Suddenly, the atmosphere turned solemn as the first wife stepped in.
Jade Aurora felt her heart sink.
One word from this woman might even change Davis's decision or his thoughts and might even influence his affection towards her. She had heard her words carried immense weight that no one in the harem could ignore.
She had previously seen and spoken with Evelynn, but the image of her now was vastly different than before. She could tell Evelynn carried herself with an elegant yet dangerous aura. Even the scent wafting from her was aromatic yet deadly, as though she were a rose covered in poisonous thorns.
Evelynn stopped in front of them and clasped Jade Aurora's hands, "I can't believe my eyes. He really did go to search for you two when the secret realm was collapsing. It would've been a great disaster if all of you had been trapped in that place, but thankfully, he was able to rescue you and bring you back to become one of us. Welcome, little sister."
"…"
Jade Aurora initially thought she was going to be blamed, but seeing Evelynn display her hospitality, she unwittingly loosened up and smiled deeply.
"Yes, thanks to husband, we were able to leave. I owe my everything to him."
Jade Aurora's eyes glimmered with affection. The secret realm was indeed collapsing faster than they expected. The reason was mostly Davis, but their savior was also Davis. Smitten with him, she naturally prioritized the latter.
Ivy Aries looked as if she was about to say something, but Tia jumped on her and closed her mouth.
Evelynn and Jade Aurora exchanged pleasantries like they hadn't seen each other for so long, catching up to the present. They talked about the time when they met in the rift where Jade Aurora was poisoned, and she helped cure her.
Zenova looked at them with narrowed eyes before she gazed away. It wasn't like she cared whether she was invited or not, but it did feel slightly uncomfortable not being acknowledged.
Not a single one came up to her?
She realized she really hadn't been doing any favors to be invited. The feeling of exclusion was prevalent. However, it didn't really get to her. Instead, the feeling of loving her only child grew within her, feeling like she had to protect her baby from those who thought ill and were unwelcoming.
"Tia, come here." Suddenly, Davis's voice echoed.
Tia pricked up her ears as she turned to look at him, "What's up, big brother?
Davis made his way out from being smothered to death by affection and worry before he gave Tia a brief account of Zhao Yan.
Tia was smug the entire time since Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries had returned, but her face slowly changed before it turned pale.
"You-" She raised her eyes wide at him.
He kidnapped the son-in-law of the Celestial Transcendent!? And he wanted her to shroud him from being divined?
What kind of calamity did he bring to their settlement!?
While she was frightened out of her wits, Davis chuckled as he saw the same reaction many others showed. He then reassured her that Zhao Yan couldn't be divined or located for many reasons he had previously considered, finally calming Tia down.
The others were quite inquisitive, wondering what he said to make Tia, the Karmic Guardian Empress of the Davis Family, quite panicked.
"So it's like that…" Tia sighed in relief.
If Zhao Yan's blood-soul essence was used up in the pact between his lover and the other essences were used to previously search for him in the Elemental Dimension or other places, then the chances they could locate him now were very low.
"Indeed. Get Yufella and any others you need to perform this task. Feel free to take him out of this celestial body to somewhere else close where we can arrive within minutes, but enemies can't."
"Alright, I'll get to work."
Tia got the life ring from Davis and left hurriedly.
"Myria, can you go with her?" Davis asked her, a bit worried.
"I will." Myria followed Tia as she gave a brief response.
Watching them leave, he nodded before calling out another person.
"Mingzhi, lead us to the guest mansion. I want to host our guests who saved me. Do not let them leave on an empty stomach. Has Jaisi set up shop? Get her to bring the best dishes available in her entire inventory to the banquet."
"Alright~" Mingzhi echoed. She turned around and cupped her hands to Saintess Lunaria's disciple, personally thanking them.
Evelynn also thanked them, and the others followed suit.
"Haha…" Karyot awkwardly laughed, "It's nothing, it's nothing…"
The other disciples also looked awkward, having never been treated with courtesy and respect by an entire family. Even some of their children started to appear and thanked them deeply, leaving them somewhat red-faced.
After getting out of the pocket realm, Davis realized it had been near the sanctuary.
The mountain forest was vastly different than what he had heard before. There were no longer any wild magical beasts within a thousand kilometers. Instead, it had been thoroughly transformed into a lush forest, teeming with flora and spirit fauna.
Mingzhi led the way through a winding marble pathway that cut across a tranquil mountain. The scent of spirit blossoms lingered in the air, soft and refreshing, as crystalline lanterns floated above, casting a gentle silver radiance over the pathway.
Before them rose one of the Davis Family's mansions setup outside to entertain guests.
It stood tall yet refined, crafted from pale jade stone veined with streaks of gold that shimmered faintly with formation light.
Inside, the main banquet hall opened wide.
High ceilings arched overhead, painted with murals of constellations and the twelve mythical beasts. Golden chandeliers suspended from above held dozens of floating flame pearls, each emitting a steady, warm glow. The banquet had long tables with cushioned chairs embroidered in high-grade silk, meticulously arranged on either side.
The atmosphere was welcoming yet dignified.
As everyone took their seats, Jaisi Alstreim arrived, her hips swaying. The moment she gazed at Davis, her bosoms rose as though she took a deep breath. Her gaze lingered for a few moments before she turned professional.
She did not appear to disappoint.
Behind her, attendants followed after her, carrying huge tray after tray of dishes, each covered with crystal lids that preserved their fragrance. When the lids were lifted, the entire hall was instantly filled with intoxicating aromas.
Even Fairy Qiyra's gaze flickered.
Davis caught it, wondering if she was secretly a gourmet.
Nonetheless, the banquet started as nearly everyone arrived before he started to tell his story, receiving praises and exclamations from the crowd.
Now nearly every harem member and children knew that Davis and Myria were saved due to the combined efforts of Illumina's group, Saintess Lunaria's disciples, and even the Heavenly Blight Hall.
