Chapter 3873 Encounter With Her Daughter
Chapter 3873 Encounter With Her Daughter
"…"
In an ancient obsidian tower, there were as many as a dozen or fewer people gathered. High above, the ceiling arched into a perfect dome, intricately carved with constellations and cosmic patterns that shifted subtly as though alive, responding to the presence of the people below.
The walls of the chamber were lined with towering pillars. Between the pillars, massive windows of enchanted glass opened to the skies, offering a panoramic view of the swirling storm clouds and the distant execution stage below.
However, the people present didn't look through the window. Instead, they sat on a round table that seemed to be made from a single piece of rock. It went along well with the lines of turtle and ocean aesthetics. The round table was large, and its circumference accommodated all those who were seated comfortably.
The seats around it were also grand, although not as much as a throne.
There were three men and five women seated here, each clad in unique clothing and having different expressions.
From their seats, they all watched the projection at the center of the table that accommodated their perception. The feed was granted to all buildings in the city and was made public enough to be broadcast to the entire realm.
Their gazes were on the three prisoners who were going to be executed in a few hours. It never moved, and they would occasionally speak about a few things.
"Where did master go to? It's been a while already~"
A velvet-robed woman spoke softly, her expression full of worry.
Her velvet robe, a rich shade of red, flowed soft and luxuriously, complementing her vibrant pink hair that fell in loose curls around her shoulders. Her eyes were a bright blue, sparkling with joy and mischief, but as she uttered those words, her gaze turned worried.
"Master would be back soon. Besides, she went with ninth junior sister, so it should be fine."
Another woman spoke with authority, yet her voice was refined and melodious like that of a mature woman.
She was clad in a crimson robe, rich and luxurious. It flowed elegantly around her, the color complementing her pale skin. Her eyes, although missing pupils, were a striking shade of milky white, which added to her ethereal beauty. Her long, silver hair was meticulously styled, cascading down her back in waves.
She appeared to be blind. Despite her blindness, she carried herself with an air of stern authority, her movements precise and controlled. Even the way she sat was proper and elegant, while the others were mostly casual like they were bored and lazing around.
"But ninth senior sister is still not strong as she didn't have enough time." The velvet-robed woman said.
"Don't worry. Nothing would happen when we are here."
A man who had his hands clasped above the table spoke with softness and confidence, his handsome face having a light smile. While he talked, there was a strange burst of aura that made the others even more relaxed.
"Senior brother. This is why I love you~"
The velvet-robed woman giggled, her withered face bursting like sunshine, making more than half of them smile. She looked at him with worship and adoration.
The man was tall and imposing, yet he exuded a calm demeanor that attracted a lot of attention. He wore a flowing green robe, appearing one with nature. His eyes were a deep shade of crimson, appearing enraged yet full of contemplation. His long, dark hair was tied back, making him look rather ordinary and graceful, yet there was an air of authority and strength.
"Haha." He laughed lightly, "Junior sister, such words shouldn't be said without giving it some thought."
"But I really do love you~"
The velvet-robed woman smiled more, putting the green-robed man in a spot as he looked away while the others glared at him.
"Senior brother, we will not forgive you if you bullied our tenth junior sister." A black-robed man laughed.
"…"
The green-robed man wondered what he did to suffer the ice-cold gazes.
The hall went silent for some time before footsteps could be heard. It was right behind the door. A few seconds later, the door opened, and three figures walked in.
"Mas-"
The velvet-robed woman quickly stood up, looking joyous as she saw Saintess Lunaria, but stopped as soon as she saw a bald man with an unsightly face. Her expression quickly sank, wondering who this was, but upon looking closer, her eyes slowly turned wide.
She could see the faint silhouette of a blonde-haired, purple-robed man walking beside her. His gaze was down, his expression complicated as he appeared to walk absentmindedly and finally be seated on the nearest seat, which just so happened to be Saintess Lunaria's seat.
It made the others frown.
"…"
Saintess Lunaria looked at him with some worry. Although he didn't even look at her once, he had walked with her without saying anything.
Did he dislike her so much? If he did, then why didn't he just flick off her advice and go to save his friends?
Beside her, Wix Voidfield appeared and offered her seat to Saintess Lunaria. However, Saintess Lunaria waved her hand, telling her it was not needed. She waved her fingers for her to go sit while she kept standing.
Her gaze then moved to the others as she gestured at Davis.
"My beloved disciples, this man is the Divine Emperor of Death, the man whom I wronged and want to help. He did come here as we expected."
"…"
Everyone present displayed various reactions: some curious, some frowning, and others indifferent.
"Stop it, master. You were justified in your actions. Although a sincere apology is in order, there's no need to go that far."
At this moment, a clear and melodious voice echoed, causing Davis to finally wake out of his reverie. He was quite familiar with this voice as he respected this person, which caused him to raise his head and look at an icy-blue-robed woman.
"Frostcloud Sword Empress…"
Davis uttered with some shock.
He looked at her figure, scanning her to see if she was really the Frostcloud Sword Empress. He didn't know her face as she had been wearing a veil back then and even now.
She exuded a serene and carefree aura as she seemed to be smiling at him, yet her presence was undeniably sharp and dangerous.
She wears an exquisite icy-blue robe that flows like water around her, shimmering with a frosty sheen. Her hair was long and white, cascading down her back like a waterfall of snow. Her eyes were a piercing blue, cold and calculating, yet with a hint of mischief.
Despite her relaxed demeanor, there is an unmistakable edge to her. Just from her aura, Davis was convinced she was the Frostcloud Sword Empress.
"Well, I am honored to meet the husband of my favored disciple whom I have yet to meet. It seems like you didn't bring you with her, which is a good thing as it is far too dangerous here, or is she in your life ring?"
The Frostcloud Sword Empress asked, her voice relaxed and amicable like an elder sister in the neighborhood. However, there was also some excitement in her voice as though she couldn't wait to meet her disciple.
