Chapter 3776 Gone Wrong?
Chapter 3776 Gone Wrong?
"…"
A woman draped in a flowing purple robe gracefully stepped into the street, her presence exuding an otherworldly beauty. The fabric of her robe cascades down her figure, hinting at the soft and wonderful curves hidden beneath. Her full bosoms added to the allure of her figure, accentuated by the delicate folds of her attire.
The rich, regal hue of the purple contrasts with the dark ethereal light that seems to surround her, plunging her into a wisp of concealment.
Her face was hidden behind a silky purple veil that whispered against her skin along with each movement, and on top of her head was a conical bamboo hat. Despite the obscured visage, a captivating aura emerged from her, yet not a single passerby was able to sense her presence, much less catch her figure as she walked right past them.
As she walked in the busy street, her steps were slow and uncertain.
She occasionally glanced around, her eyes searching through with a mix of curiosity and confusion. It was clear she was unfamiliar with her surroundings, and each step was taken with some consideration.
She took in the whispers from the surroundings, the conversations flowing in without the slightest caution, and put it together to form a sort of collective, meaningful information in her head, yet she still couldn't find out where she was other than the fact she was in some city called the Rogavril City.
Other than that, she could perceive this was a somewhat prosperous trade city as she could even see Immortal King Grade or rather, Monarch Grade Items in the roadside stalls being sold. She glanced into a store and could even see Sovereign Grade Items kept on display, being sold for an enormous price that she guessed these people walking in the streets wouldn't be able to afford.
And the fact they could keep such an item for display meant that they had enough security to protect their wares.
After all, she didn't think the city guards protected this city as much as she had just slaughtered one.
"Psst… hey, did you know that a guard exploded in the second street?"
"Nah, you're lying."
"I mean it, man. Really… believe me. The city guard was an Early Stage Sovereign, but he suddenly exploded. Apparently, that city guard was this area's head. The city guards secured the streets after us, but fortunately, we were on the fifth street. Otherwise, we would be trapped there too."
"Really?"
Two men talked in a corner as the purple-robed woman walked past them, and soon, they could all sense the commotion on the opposite street as a formation seemed to be placed.
The purple-robed woman changed her direction, walking away in the opposite direction.
Soon, the ruckus died down in her field of view as she entered a new street, perhaps the sixth street, but she walked further and appeared on the seventh street.
"Did you hear that? Apparently, a head guard was killed in the second street."
"Really? Damn… this city's guards are all hedonistic and lazy. You would think they would quickly find the culprit, but I bet they're long gone like any time."
"What do you expect from a city in this realm? But at least our city has some level of security. If you want complete security, you can only hire bodyguards to protect yourself. At least, they're cheap, and if you want more control, you can always procure slaves, but they're more expensive."
More conversations erupted.
The purple-robed woman could hear the conversations, and she was curious as to where this city was situated, but she walked past them all like she couldn't hear them.
She couldn't afford to reveal herself for one reason, as she was strange enough.
After all, she was an Immortal Emperor.
There were mostly transcendents around. Only a small percentage of immortals were around, and she could see one of them right now, a weak Immortal King whose aura was minuscule to the point perhaps he was suppressing his own cultivation, bullied at an entrance to an alleyway by a bunch of transcendent Monarchs.
She walked right past them, not intending to stop them.
While walking in the seventh street, she slowly came to a stop, her head lowering ever so lightly.
'Where are you…? I wish… you would come to find me…'
A hint of sadness reveled in her gaze as she clenched her fists and bit her lips. However, she clenched her fists a beat later and looked ahead with a determined gaze.
'Since I've fallen here, Isabella and Shirley must be close by, but… why can't I sense them…?'
She took a deep breath, reclaiming her calmness before she released her fists and continued to talk.
It seems her first imperative was to collect more information.
Having decided, she took a step again, but it came to a stop when she suddenly sensed something behind her.
A hand was placed on her shoulder, causing her to control herself from using the four spider legs from her spine to rip apart the person behind her with the scythes. She heaved a breath and sighed lightly.
"You're stupid to provoke me like this. What if I had screamed out and attracted attention or ripped you apart?"
"Well, I didn't presume you could be easily scared, and I expected to be ripped apart a second ago."
The source of the voice moved forward.
It was a purple-crimson-robed woman. Her hips swayed with each step she took before she swung around in a seduction motion and shot an amused smile.
"I guess I'll have to be grateful for not being sliced into pieces, Evelynn."
"…"
Evelynn scoffed under her breath and looked away.
"I told you not to follow me, Zenova."
"Aah? Why not?"
Zenova's lips curled.
Evelynn considered for a moment before she walked away to the other side.
However, Zenova blocked her path again. But this time, she even canceled her own concealment, causing gasps of shock to echo in the street. The pedestrians' jaws dropped to find a beautiful fairy appearing amidst them.
Evelynn was also shocked— not because Zenova Artoria canceled her concealment but because of another reason. Nonetheless, she took a step forward and walked past Zenova Artoria again, not knowing why she was teleported to this area only to find this woman and not her sisters.
"Do you really not find it interesting? Why I'm emitting a transcendent aura instead of an immortal aura?"
"…"
A voice fell in her mind, causing Evelynn to come to a stop again.
Evelynn glanced back to look at Zenova Artoria.
Indeed, Zenova Artoria was currently radiating an aura that only a transcendent would emit. It was not an immortal aura, although the signature was practically the same, allowing her to know it was none other than Zenova Artoria when she touched her.
She thought it had been her imagination, but for Zenova Artoria to emit a large portion of Sovereign undulations, she knew it was not a mere illusion.
Soon enough, they were seated in an inn, choosing to be seated in the corner where there was more privacy due to its unique layout.
The waitress served them a cup of refreshment and took a glance at Zenova Artoria's beautiful crimson eyes before respectfully leaving the private area. Outside, she heaved a major voice of excitement as though she had met her idol.
Zenova Artoria's lips curled as she looked at Evelynn.
"Why don't you remove your hat? You're just making yourself look suspicious at this point."
"Many were wearing this hat. It's not suspicious at all."
"Anyone within a fine perception can sense the small amount of foreign energy radiating from that hat. The bamboo used to make your hat has stored a bit of heaven and earth energy. That's the aura of the First Haven World. If you're going to hide, you should use a hat you bought from here."
Zenova Artoria raised her hand and kept her palm above her head when a conical hat suddenly appeared, covering the upper features of her face.
"…"
Evelynn glared at Zenova Artoria. A second later, she removed her hat, and it disappeared into her spatial ring.
"Fine. I'm not an expert when it comes to hiding. What do you want? Do you not understand that it's dangerous for us two Divergents to be together?"
"Oh, my~" Zenova Artoria looked taken aback, "You are looking to return to a family of Divergents while I'm just one. Don't you think you're being too biased?"
".,."
Evelynn didn't reply, staying quiet.
But on the other side, Zenova Artoria giggled and continued.
"I'll share what I have learned in the last ten minutes we have appeared here."
"I don't have any information worth telling."
"I know. I'm here for your powers since it's way more silent than mine. You managed to easily escape after killing a head guard like it was nothing, thanks to the power of your hexes. If we work together, then we could probably escape any place."
Evelynn didn't look amused by the prospect.
"Aren't you just trying to use me? Abandon me at the slightest hint of true danger?"
"Of course." Zenova Artoria giggled, "You should do the same to me, as what I'm proposing is a relationship of benefits. I help you go back to your family, and you help me with your powers, which means assassinating whoever I point to."
"No thank you. I can do well without your help."
Evelynn looked like she was going to stand up.
"Don't be so hasty. This is a city where an Empyrean rules. It's only a matter of time before he appears and kills us if we're not careful. Besides, this is the Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm. Do you really think we can escape this lawless place and find your family without engaging in battle?
