Chapter 2067: Another Note?
Chapter 2067: Another Note?
The giant lotus stretched to about two hundred kilometers long and wide in diameter, carrying the Jade Lotus Valley and its floating palaces on top of its sixteen petals. It appeared light green in color, deeply accentuating the dark green dots walking or flying above them, which were the disciples or the elders of the Jade Lotus Valley.
The very sight of its gigantic presence brought awe to Davis and Evelynn’s hearts as they’d never seen a lifeform this big. They felt that even Magical Beast Immortals would be small in comparison.
“Welcome to the Jade Lotus Valley, Emperor of Death. I’m glad that our Guardian Lotus is able to earn a reaction from your esteemed self.”
The middle-aged Ancestor spoke with a bright smile behind her veil. Originally, this would be the Valley Master’s job, but she could see that the Valley Master was probably tired as she had already received a soul transmission that she had been poisoned and healed. The exhaustion from it should still remain, so she decided to take care of welcoming the guests.
On the other hand, she saw that the white-haired woman called Fairy Myria didn’t even raise her brows. For a figure who voiced out her curiosity, she didn’t seem to be impressed.
Nonetheless, minding her own business, she brought the Emperor of Death and the others above the Guardian Lotus and showed them around, causing them to be impressed.
Evelynn liked this place so much. The fragrance of the lotus here was filling and soothing to the soul that she couldn’t get enough of it. Not only her but even Yotan and Threelotus seemed to view this place as a paradise. Everywhere they saw, there were women, giggling and laughing as though they were sisters. There was no threat of an idiotic young master going around, trying to subdue them.
It was no wonder the Jade Lotus Valley chose this life to live peacefully amongst the protection of the lotus and cultivate without disturbance, only then later trying to find a man after they had obtained enough strength to protect themselves.
They felt that this life was also good, that Evelynn also thought if she didn’t have Davis, to the time long back before she met him, she would’ve chosen this life if it was presented to her. But now, she grasped his hand, wanting to live with him together in a place like this, but she didn’t express anything as she knew that the Guardian Lotus didn’t belong to them.
Even Davis was impressed as a single sweep of Heart Intent told him that this place was, in essence, happier, although it could just be a result of them seeing their Valley Master and Top Disciple appear alive. Furthermore, he wouldn’t deny that there were some feelings of jealousy mixed in as well, which was rather normal, considering that this was a cultivation sect and there were hierarchies and favorites, and human beings were jealous beings, wanting to obtain what others have most of the time.
Just because women were ruling didn’t make it any more peaceful than it could be that Davis intrinsically understood only fists spoke in all places.
Myria narrowed her eyes, turning to look at Davis at this moment, but she didn’t say anything.
*Rumble!~*
Just as they were enjoying sightseeing, the giant lotus underneath them began to tremble. It was like an earthquake, but not one of them was harmed as they stayed relatively still. Abruptly, they all saw Ivy Aries glowing in a jade green light, unable to believe their eyes.
“This… the Guardian Lotus is reacting to Little Ivy’s presence…”
The middle-aged Ancestor uttered, unsure of her own words.
“Ah!~”
Ivy Aries flew away. It didn’t seem like she was moving by herself but was taken away.
Davis frowned, ‘What now?’
He had just brought her to her home but was being kidnapped now by some unseen entity?
His dark energy surged, spreading in the atmosphere as it caused countless hearts to palpitate as it appeared terrifying as his death energy. It surged towards Ivy Aries, intending to save her, when a burst of water splashed on the death energy, causing it to fade away.
Davis’s sapphire pupils gleamed. His soul force that was three levels higher than Peak-Level Ninth Stage was actually thwarted!?
“There’s no need to worry. I won’t harm her.”
An ancient female voice abruptly resounded, causing Davis to blink as he saw the maidens of the Jade Lotus Valley tremble and become emotional.
“Guardian Lotus, is that you…?”
The old Ancestor of the Jade Lotus Valley shed tears and trembled. She was moved beyond tears to hear the voice of the Guardian Lotus as though she had never heard it before.
A few moments later, Ivy Aries was taken away while the maidens of the Jade Lotus Valley were all bowing their heads ninety degrees in the direction of the center. They raised their heads, looking shook and amazed beyond comprehension that their hearts rejoiced in joy.
“I see. So that’s what happened.” Myria’s voice sounded amused, “Ivy Aries is safe, alright.”
“Yes… this must be the blessing of the Guardian Lotus written in the records.” Valley Master Jade Aurora nodded, “Only a select few individuals in the history of the Jade Lotus Valley received this honor from the Guardian Lotus, and they all had their comprehension of Water Laws improved to a tremendous degree upon return. As expected, Ivy Aries is our Jade Lotus Valley’s hope-“
“You’re wrong.”
Myria shook her head slightly, causing the maidens to flinch while Valley Master Jade Aurora couldn’t help but ask.
“Fairy Myria, what do you mean?”
“I have no need to tell you.”
Myria shrugged but was met with an intense gaze from someone.
Davis turned his eyes towards Myria, staring intensely at her as though he absentmindedly wished that she would explain. Myria narrowed her brows, wondering why he was so shameless, but her lips couldn’t help but slightly curve.
“Remember, I’ll put every help I give you on a tab. I’ll be using that tab to make you repay all your debts. However, whether I help you or not is decided of my own volition. If you force me to do anything, I’ll collect the debt sooner than you can afford to.”
“Fine by me!” Davis’s eyes lit up.
Myria suddenly brought up a white piece of paper and on that paper’s back was a scribble of inscriptions, almost looking like a rune of some sort. She shook it at his face, her gaze looking wicked.
“Then bind your soul to this promissory note so you can’t renege on your debt.”
“Wha-?”
Davis gawked. However, Myria slightly grinned in response.
“My support is free of cost if you become my disciple.”
“Why you…! Fine, I’ll bind that promissory note.”
Davis’s shoulders drooped as he couldn’t maintain the shamelessness that he had given up. He felt that his shameless intent was too weak.
He then sent his soul force and formed a connection with the promissory note, whereupon it imprinted his name, but it was empty.
‘Another product of Karma Laws… I guess she has a bit of comprehension in it…’
Davis pondered. However, the ‘bit’ he was talking about may be huge for the mortal cultivation realm. After all, she seemed to have comprehended a plethora of Laws to Level Six Intent or Level Six Abstruse Intent at the very least.
As for suspecting that she was doing something against him, if she did, then he had confidence in Ellia to inform him of it. As his soul was binding with the promissory note, he didn’t feel anything strange either other than the same feeling a Blood Soul Contract would have but more powerful and concentrated.
Looking at this scene, the maidens of the Jade Lotus Valley became shocked. Why did Fairy Myria want the Emperor of Death as her disciple? Moreover, why were they talking on equal terms? Hadn’t they crossed fists during the competition? Shouldn’t one of them be defeated? What about the source of the Calamity Light? Has there been any new information on it?
They couldn’t understand anything while watching their interaction.
Looking at the promissory note, Myria satisfactorily nodded before she kept it inside her spatial ring, her lips moving the next moment.
“This so-called Guardian Lotus is known as the-“
