Chapter 1772: Straight For The Treasure
Chapter 1772: Straight For The Treasure
The Infernal Lightning Emperor’s expression constantly changed from despair to rage was already an eyesore for Davis that he couldn’t help but mention to Sect Master Lea Weiss.
“You forgot to say that his descendants and ancestors would also meet a tragic fate as promised.”
Davis raised both his hands. His soul force surged as it entered the Purple Soul Flame Lantern and energized it, making it radiate into a bright purple glow before purple flames began to spread out as it plunged towards the city below like it was raining flames.
The Infernal Lightning Emperor’s eyes shot wide as he saw a huge number of meter tall strands of purple flames rush into his Infernal Mountain City and burn thousands of people, all powerhouses and experts who attacked the Emperor of Death earlier using their infamous infernal lightning and all kinds of lightning that Davis hadn’t seen before.
Some even used extinction lightning to defend themselves.
However, once the strand of purple flames fell on them in a ghastly manner, it instantly ignited them up and burnt their bodies to ashes. Some tried to escape almost instantly as they felt alarmed by Davis’s words, but even they were caught, and a very few opened up spatial tunnels to escape. However, the special kind of purple flames made sure to attach to them before their spatial tunnels could completely open up, which made them die when they appeared out of the tunnel on the other side.
As for the Peak-Level Law Rune Stage Powerhouses and below, although their bodies managed to survive the onslaught of the purple flames, their souls shattered.
It was as if though it was purifying the entirety of the Infernal Lightning Palace.
Davis could also see that there were some unfortunate accidents like his purple flames harming the people with different robes or the wicked path powerhouse taking the lives of unrelated people with them to death. Perhaps, they were disagreeable to them. However, he made no moves to save them or even give them some kind of help.
The people here were all wicked path followers.
To Davis, they were nothing but strangers whom he would help if he pitied their plight or kill if they offended him, following the same rule as he followed for the righteous path people. However, with a glance using Fallen Heaven’s karmic powers, he could see that they were all more or less carrying karmic sin except the children and a few adults, but even then, he could see a bunch of children possessing karmic sin, which made him feel nauseous and biased towards their actions.
The wicked path truly corrupted people while citing the law of nature, making them overly inclined towards the vile nature of humans instead of the one that is appreciated and welcomed, not to mention that being good here would mean being vulnerable and easy to kill.
Still, just because this world is truly survival of the fittest doesn’t make their actions and deeds any right. Instead, they took advantage of it and committed more vile acts, fueling themselves into thinking that it was the way of the heavens because that was how it worked for them until they died.
Davis understood that there was no changing that unless they were people like Schleya who knew what they were doing and accepted that they’re what they say instead of justifying their actions with the law of nature to convince their own hearts to be able to do more evil.
After all, people weren’t born good or bad. They just do what they do to survive and grow, even if it means stepping on others. It was just that in the cultivation world, doing it with a valid reason made a difference between the two schools of thought: the righteous path and the wicked path.
“You heartless bastard! I treated you with respect and even gave you compensation while stepping over my pride. I swear I will take revenge for this! Just wait for your family to die!!!”
The Infernal Lightning Emperor screamed in pain, reveling in his heart as he looked at his family members, wives, children die one by one. He shed tears before he rushed towards the distance, his words making him look like he was going to the Alstreim Family to kill the Emperor of Deaths’ relatives.
However, Davis didn’t move but sighed as he still looked at the destruction that he caused below. He knew that he had killed at least a hundred thousand people who wore the robes of Infernal Lightning Palace.
Looking at his unmoving silhouette, Lea Weiss felt disheartened as she rushed back towards the Blood Reaper Underworld Territory to chase down the Infernal Lightning Emperor before he could do some serious damage to Davis’s home, but then suddenly came to a stop as she saw the Infernal Lightning Emperor plunging towards the ground as he crashed into the wilderness, forming a crater.
Her eyes went wide in shock when Davis suddenly passed by her and reached the crater where the Infernal Lightning Emperor fell in a few seconds, noticing his body looking lifeless.
Sect Master Lea Weiss’s figure flashed as she appeared beside him and absentmindedly looked at him collect the spatial ring of Infernal Lightning Emperor and also his body, which confirmed her thoughts that the Infernal Lightning Emperor truly died.
“Was it you…?”
She couldn’t help but ask as she felt shaken by this scene.
There was no usage of energy as far as she could sense with her prowess that was two levels higher, but people at the apex of their world could drop dead just like that?
“I don’t play or even take chances when someone wants to hurt my loved ones. I go straight for the kill using whatever means necessary….”
Davis simply spoke with a solemn expression on his face before he reached out his hand towards her, a bonewood sword appearing above his palm as he presented it to her.
“Here…”
“Why are you giving it to me just like that? Even if there was an alliance….”
“I gave my word to Ancestor Cornelia to retrieve the three Legacy Artifacts.”
Davis didn’t allow any misunderstandings to ensue as he instantly cut her off, causing Sect Master Lea Weiss to bite her lips.
“The thing you said back then… wanting to take advantage of me… is it true?”
“…”
Davis wondered why she was asking this when he low-key made it clear that he would not like to speak about this anymore. Nevertheless, he shot a wry smile at her.
“Of course. You’re so beautiful like a fine and mature empress…”
Sect Master Lea Weiss’s heart instantly skipped a beat as she heard him continue.
“… not to mention that you’re a Sect Master whose status is far superior to any woman in this Fifty-Two Territories. I would be lying if I said that I….”
Davis stopped speaking as he saw that tears began welling up in her eyes.
“Can you… can you give me a hug…?”
Davis’s eyes narrowed.
What was this?
Was she imagining the ‘Davis’ from her Heart Demon Tribulation? Honestly, he already had enough with Tina Roxley’s ideal version of him in her head. Fortunately, he felt that he had somehow managed to supersede that image in Tina Roxley’s head, but now, even an acquaintance like Sect Master Lea Weiss now had an ideal version of him in her mind.
He couldn’t help but want to overwrite that as it was tempting in its own way, but he shook himself out of it.
“I refuse.”
Sect Master Lea Weiss turned her head away as she sniffled.
“Why…?”
Her voice meekly echoed, causing Davis to be not able to look at her anymore.
“Look, I am not the Davis you saw in your Heart Demon Tribulation. I don’t know what kind of perfect entity he was to you, and I’m probably not what you’re looking for. Besides, you’re a Sect Master, so act like one. I feel a bit of sorrow and distress to see you like this when I remember you being so prideful enough to shut me up all the time.”
Sect Master Lea Weiss lowered her head as her shoulders began to shake. However, Davis still continued even after noticing it.
“To tell the truth, I’ve already considered this matter. You’ve already been in the Burning Phoenix Ridge for five thousand years, and I can’t hope to understand what kind of attachment you would have with your sect. But I also understand that you’re a Sect Master who puts her sect above anything else. Let’s just say that I take you, the Sect Master of the Burning Phoenix Ridge as my woman. There’s no assurance that you would like my other wives and perhaps might even look down on them with your prideful attitude. No matter how tempted I feel, I won’t take a woman who’s not going to obviously be a part of my family that I’ve created for myself, not to mention-“
“Shut up!!!”
Hearing his lengthy explanation, Sect Master Lea Weiss abruptly exploded with anger as she screamed at him, tears flowing down her eyes as she clenched her teeth.
“Sect Master! Sect Master!! Sect Master!!!”
“I’m a damn woman before I’m a Sect Master, you heartless idiot!”
*Whoosh!~*
Sect Master Lea Weiss rushed ahead again, leaving a dumbfounded Davis, whose expression then twisted into one of anger.
“You crass woman! Who are you calling heartless? Get back here!”
*Whoosh!~*
He shot forwards and flew with immense speed, using the Waning Twilight Phantasm Steps that also increased his speed a bit because it was mainly used for spontaneous movements that increased his evasive movements. Nevertheless, that slight increase was enough for him to quickly catch up with the crying Lea Weiss, who also seemed to be using her movement technique.
His ghastly movements allowed him to near her without being pushed away by her overbearing aura before he caught her wrist. Sect Master Lea Weiss’s expression changed as she suddenly lost her footing in the air as she made a mistake in circulating her movement technique, causing her to tumble down all the way as they crashed into a river below from the momentum.
*Splash!~*
A fifty-meter long shark-like magical beast with black-yellow patterned skin opened its maws and was about to swallow them whole as it was normal reaction to eat whatever that came crashing down, but then, it suddenly realized their undulations and froze when a wave of heat emerged, evaporating its flesh and its entire body and soul along with the water of the river in a two-kilometer radius.
However, the heatwave died as Sect Master Lea Weiss saw that Davis still held her strong, not letting her go even as his hands were starting to burn up. Her lips quivered as tears ran down, confused as to what he wanted when it became painfully clear that he rejected her.
At this moment, the river water filled in the gap where the water evaporated and swept them in its wave. However, they didn’t even move much but floated in swaying motions of the river, looking into each other’s eyes as though they were entranced.
Indeed, Davis became quite charmed because Sect Master Lea Weiss’s veil had come off, swept away by the river, not to mention that her crimson hair became undone, freely floating while becoming wet. On the other hand, Sect Master Lea Weiss herself could not remain calm under his hold, her heart seething with full of unresolved and unrequited emotions for him.
Davis suddenly came out of his reverie and noticed that he had his hand on her soft waists, his fingers sinking in while she held her shoulders. He wanted to separate but then felt her hands tightly hold him, shaking ever so lightly even though she did not need him for balance.
“I just know that you have feelings for me, but you never once said that you wanted me.”
Davis unwittingly spoke in a soft tone.
“How am I supposed to take you just like that, huh?”
Sect Master Lea Weiss’s eyes shook as her crimson lips slightly parted. She didn’t answer but looked at him with glistening eyes as if telling him to make a move.
“Fine, if you don’t want me, then push or blast me away.”
Davis pulled in her waists and held her closer. Her big bosoms, whose outline was very clear from becoming wet, struck Davis’s chest and visibly flattened against him before Davis took her lips.
Sect Master Lea Weiss shook ever so lightly as she felt a man’s lips for the first time. Her eyes narrowed as she began to feel his lips sucking on her, doing naughty things that made her feel good and confused at the same time.
But after a few seconds, Davis let her go as he looked at her with a possessive light in his eyes.
Clearly perceiving his emotions towards her, Sect Master Lea Weiss’s heart raced as she grasped the collar of his wet purple robe, her crimson eyes looking at him with passionate emotions brewing in her eyes.
“I want you~”
