Chapter 476 - Gun Battle
Chapter 476: Gun Battle
“How come Mom is coming now?” Yura asked, confused.
Chen Zhao was about to get up and open the door when Bill grabbed him. “Don’t open the door. It’s not Boss.”
“It’s not?” Chen Zhao glanced at him. “Are you sure?”
“Wait.” Bill grabbed his phone and called Chen Zhao’s mother, but it wouldn’t connect. “Signal disturbance!”
Bill put the phone down, expression turning grave.
“Are you sure it’s not Yura’s mom out there?”
“Yes. Boss wouldn’t come at this time. It wasn’t Boss who’d spoken earlier either. It was an edited voice.”
“Who’s out there? Using such high-tech things?”
“Mr. Chen, take Miss Yura and hide inside the room.”
“Are you saying it’ll be dangerous?”
Bill turned back and glanced at Chen Zhao. “It won’t be simply dangerous.”
“Can you take care of it by yourself?”
“I don’t even know the situation.” Bill put on a tank top and took two guns out of a nearby case.
“Give me one.”
“You’ve used it before?”
“No.”
“Then you and Miss Yura better hide well.”
It was silent both inside and outside the room. They were both in darkness.
Bill held the two guns. He already pushed the table and chairs before him to act as sandbags.
…
Right now, a few fully-equipped mercenaries were outside. They were trying to open the lock.
“Austin, can you open it?”
“Head, I can’t open it,” Austin said. “It’s a complicated tenth power variable lock. The password changes every minute. It can’t be opened unless we get the card or it’s opened from the inside.”
“Fine, back down,” the leader said indifferently. “Kebott, you come.”
Kebott wasn’t very tall, but he had many tools on his back.
He grinned. “You should’ve told me to come earlier.”
Kebott walked to the door and stuck circular discs in the four corners of the door. There were a dozen distributed evenly.
After preparing, Kebott turned to look at everyone. “Step back.”
Everyone retreated to the corner and Kebott pressed the remote control.
Boom, boom, boom—
The circular discs all released strong firelight instead of exploding intensely.
These discs weren’t regular bombs. They contained a type of penetrative flammable liquid and were used specifically for close-range explosions. They had strong penetrative abilities.
Kebott was the mechanic of the mercenary group. He was the best at placing bombs and explosives.
Even faced with a door that was like the gate of a bank treasury, he could still open it easily.
The alloy door fell down. Just then, a gunshot sounded.
Kebott cried out. He was shot.
“Head, a person is hiding in the darkness,” Kebott told his partners while sprawled on the ground.
The leader motioned at the mercenaries. Everyone put on night vision goggles.
Next, the leader tossed in a grenade.
Boom!
With a loud boom, dust filled the air instantly.
Within the smoke, gunshots sounded again. Both sides entered a shoot-off.
Bill had a very rich battle experience. He had a disadvantage in numbers now and the other side had much stronger ammunition than him.
His only advantage was that he had cover. He had to lure them to attack and use up their ammunition.
Yura, who was hiding in the room, started coughing violently. The outside air and the smell of gunpowder made her really uncomfortable.
“Brother, will I die here?” Cough, cough… Yura trembled in Chen Zhao’s arms.
“No,” Chen Zhao said nonchalantly. In reality, he was a bit scared too.
But with his little sister beside him, he couldn’t act scared no matter what.
“Drink this.” Chen Zhao took out a bottle of potion.
“Cough, cough…Mom doesn’t let me eat food that’s not disinfected.”
“I’m your brother.”
“Fine.” After Yura drank the medicine, she really did feel better.
Just then, the bedroom door opened.
Both Chen Zhao and Yura were frightened, but they relaxed after seeing that it was Bill.
But Bill looked really pathetic now. He was shot in the shoulder and he wavered. He couldn’t stand steadily.
“How is it?”
“I’m powerless,” Bill said helplessly. “They’re too strong.”
“Do you still have bullets?”
“Three,” Bill answered.
“Give me the gun.”
“Why?”
“Just give me.”
Bill could only give Chen Zhao the gun. Chen Zhao looked outside, lifted the gun, and fired at the door three times.
Ah—ah—ah—
“Go out, go out!” the leader yelled. “Ambush!”
The mercenaries who’d just entered the apartment quickly retreated from the living room.
“Did you see who killed three of us?”
“Judging from the sound, it’s from that bedroom.”
“How did they know our position?”
“I don’t know.”
The leader’s expression was uncomfortable. Three men had been shot in the head.
It wasn’t Bill. They’d fought earlier. Even though Bill was strong, he wasn’t at this unmanageable level.
“It’s that Asian!” the leader said, face dark.
“What should we do now?”
“How many more bullets do you have?”
“I have three magazines.”
“I have two.”
“Call everyone to this floor. That Asian there isn’t easy to deal with.”
…
Chen Zhao and Bill walked out of the room. Bill saw the three bodies on the ground.
How did Chen Zhao kill three guys through the door?
After all, Chen Zhao had fired right in front of him. He didn’t pull any tricks.
Bill had thought that Chen Zhao was wasting bullets. He didn’t expect that Chen Zhao would be so terrifying.
He obviously didn’t know that Chen Zhao was acting under Blackie’s advice. Blackie guided him from across the door, so he could kill the three guys.
Chen Zhao picked up the automatic rifles on the ground and tossed on at Bill.
“How did you do that?”
If he’d known that Chen Zhao was so good, he would’ve given Chen Zhao a gun instead of wasting his bullets without killing anyone.
“Probably good luck,” Chen Zhao said indifferently.
Bill didn’t believe his answer at all. “What do we do now?”
“Just guard the door. We both have guns now, anyway.”
Automatic rifles were much stronger than pistols. Chen Zhao believed that even if the others had controlled the entire building, they couldn’t keep their ground forever.
However, he didn’t know that the other than the mercenaries, they were the only three survivors of the entire building.
The other residents had all been killed.
