Death… And Me

Chapter 4432: Time Flies

Chapter 4432: Time Flies

The two weeks went by in a flash, and Roan finally finished concocting the pills so they could continue cultivating.

Celis, now pretty much known throughout the Besgol Region after the events at the Crystal Farm, returned to their residence in Jufafner’s Godly Subjugation Guild with quite a few extra Godly Spawn and Beast Crystals.

He had actually arrived a day earlier, as Roan asked him to help concoct the pills specifically designed for Celis’s Demon Tree Race. Kentucky also returned not long after, looking completely refreshed. "These were two great weeks, I’ll tell you!"

Rean, who had spent most of that time working on his ’baby,’ looked over curiously. "What were you doing until now?"

"I slept," Kentucky started. "Then I went out to look for some rare metals to eat, and then I slept. Then I went around showing my charm and trying to create a new Kentucky Fan Club, and then I slept."

"And then I slept..."

"And then I slept..."

"And then I slept..."

Kentucky continued listing several more things he had done during those two weeks, somehow managing to conclude every single story with more sleep. Whether he talked about exploring a mountain, eating some rare ore, or chatting with another Demon Beast, the ending was always exactly the same. Well, that was indeed a period meant for resting and disconnecting from cultivation, so Kentucky had certainly made the most of it.

"Alright, alright," Rean stopped Kentucky with a laugh. "You slept, I get it." Right after, he turned to Celis. "What about you? I kept my eye on the Besgol Network, and you seem pretty famous at the Crystal Farm now."

"Hmph!" Celis couldn’t care less. "Those idiots just kept coming and asking the same thing over and over again. It got annoying pretty fast. Fortunately, Tobao did as he said and had the Godly Subjugation Guild post a report about our capability to fly. That it was connected to the Great Void we came from and all that shit."

Roan nodded from the side. "That is good enough."

According to the report released by the Godly Subjugation Guild, they would keep a close eye on the Ascension Hub in case another cultivator from the Vinx Great Void ever appeared. If someone else displayed the same peculiar traits, it would reinforce their conclusions. Of course, none of them expected that to happen anytime soon. As far as the twins’ group knew, they would remain the only ascenders from that Great Void for a very long time.

Roan then threw several bottles toward Rean, Celis, and Kentucky. "Here are the pills. They will help our cultivation progress much more smoothly from now on."

"Let’s finish using the Godly Spawn and Beast Crystals first," Celis said before taking out the rewards he had earned at the Crystal Farm. "Just one question. Are we going for the Predator Crystals after that?"

Everyone turned to look at Celis.

"That’s up to you, right?" Rean answered. "You’re the one who best understands whether they are worth using at our current cultivation."

Celis pondered for a moment before taking one of their Predator Crystals out. "Give me a minute. Don’t start absorbing anything yet."

First, Celis swallowed one of Roan’s pills, including the newly improved Energy Gathering Pill, before activating the Godly Energy Absorption Array prepared for the crystals.

Only then did he begin absorbing the Predator Crystal by himself while the others quietly observed. From time to time, they released their Godly Senses for brief moments, carefully monitoring how the Godly Energy flowed through Celis’s body and how much of it was actually being utilized instead of escaping into the surroundings.

Several minutes later, Celis placed the crystal down and nodded in satisfaction. "It is fine. With Roan’s pills, I can absorb the Predator Crystals with very little waste. If all four of us absorb the same crystal together, that remaining loss should practically disappear."

"Then it is decided," Roan concluded without hesitation. "Since we have no bottlenecks or other obstacles in our cultivation, there is no reason to keep saving the Predator Crystals. For now, advancing our cultivations as quickly as possible takes priority."

Everyone agreed, and they resumed cultivating almost immediately. Naturally, they first consumed the remaining Godly Spawn and Beast Crystals they still had in storage, including the new ones Celis had brought back from the Crystal Farm. Only after exhausting those resources would they begin using the far more valuable Predator Crystals.

Fortunately for the twins’ group, their good relationship with Tobao and Arcis allowed them to be excluded from any additional Elite Exploration assignments while they focused on cultivation. Thanks to that, another two years and several months quietly slipped by.

---

Even while they remained in seclusion, plenty of news continued spreading across the Besgol Region. Celis remained a hot topic for a while after displaying his ability to fly, but since he disappeared from the public eye shortly afterward, the discussions gradually died down. Before long, the attention of the entire region shifted elsewhere.

More specifically...

A new Law God had appeared.

Out of the ten Godly Apex Crystals distributed during the competition, only Kavile had managed to achieve a breakthrough so far. Now, another successful cultivator had finally joined the ranks of the Law Gods.

His name was Aurundi, a member of the Voltari Race, a race of Lightning Element Affinity Spirits. The twins’ group hadn’t heard much about him before, mostly because he lived on the opposite side of the Besgol Region. While they spent nearly all their time around the northwestern territories, Aurundi’s influence lay deep in the southeast.

He had been the winner of one of the two competitions held in that part of the region. After Kavile successfully entered the Law God Realm, the pressure on the other high-ranking experts had eased considerably, including Aurundi’s responsibilities. The Godly Subjugation Guild immediately approved his request for seclusion, allowing him to focus entirely on breaking through without worrying about regional duties.

As expected, Tobao, Arcis, and now Kavile personally visited Aurundi’s estate to congratulate him while discussing his new responsibilities as one of Besgol’s Law Gods.

Ironically, the happiest person there was probably Kavile himself. Only after becoming a Law God did he realize just how overwhelming the workload truly was. If anything, he found it amazing that Tobao and Arcis had managed to shoulder all those responsibilities by themselves for so many years. Even so, becoming a Law God came with countless privileges and resources, so it wasn’t as though the position brought only burdens.

Several months later, another major piece of news spread across the region. Arcis and, surprisingly, Tobao had both achieved breakthroughs.

Everyone expected Arcis to reach the Middle Stage of the Law God Realm after receiving a Godly Apex Crystal, so his success surprised no one. Tobao, however, was a different story. Since everyone believed his own Godly Apex Crystal had been stolen by Xigazou, the public naturally assumed he had managed to advance into the Late Stage of the Law God Realm entirely through his own talent and accumulation.

Considering Tobao was already recognized as Besgol’s strongest cultivator and one of its greatest geniuses, people simply accepted that explanation without question. If anything, they celebrated the news. The stronger Tobao became, the safer the entire Besgol Region would be.

Naturally, the truth was completely different. Tobao had quietly used the very same Godly Apex Crystal everyone believed Xigazou had stolen. It was the final step of the deception he and Arcis had prepared from the very beginning, and a truth that would likely never become public. Aside from Tobao himself, only Arcis and the twins’ group knew what had really happened.
