Chapter 4241: Alarm
Chapter 4241: Alarm
Rean and Roan looked at Kentucky and Celis. They were a group of four, but it wasn’t like they needed to stay together anyway. In the end, Kentucky and Celis joined another Demon Beast while Rean and Roan got grouped with a Spirit called Gootui.
"Couldn’t you have joined the other remaining group?" Rean asked, annoyed.
"Trust me, I definitely wanted that," Roan said, pointing out. "But those three over there seem to be together already, so there was only this one remaining."
Gootui didn’t understand those two. "Have you perhaps been enemies back in your Great Voids or something?"
Rean pondered a bit. "Well, not too far from that, I think..."
Clayton, the youngest kid, was the one responsible for Rean, Roan, and Gootui. "Seniors, please follow me. We have another airplane to take."
That caught their attention. "Another Airplane? Aren’t we going to check the sect and its facilities?"
Clayton smiled in response, shaking his head. "You won’t find many different things here that you couldn’t find back in your Home Great Voids. We have Celestial Energy Gathering Formations, Missions and Tasks Hall, Sub Occupation Halls, these kinds of things. Would you like to see those anyway?"
Rean, Roan, and Gootui looked at each other, the answer in their minds obvious. They had seen way too many of those things already. Sure, they would be useful, but there wasn’t anything new about them, indeed.
"See?" Clayton kept walking to another landing pad. "That being said, I might as well show you the things that really matter. I’m not sure how your Great Voids operated and how your lives were there. Thus, I will just show you what you should focus on in here."
They entered another Airplane, this one seemingly slightly different from the others that kept coming and going. "This is the Godly Subjulgation Guild’s Airplane. There are thousands of landing pads on many buildings in the sect, and you will always find two or three of these free for use. Come inside."
The twins’ group followed inside, and after a few minutes, the Airplane departed again, carrying them and a few more disciples of the sect. The disciples were going to the Godly Subjulgation Guild for other things, though.
The Guild wasn’t too far, and they only had to fly for half an hour or so. The disciples who had nothing to do with the twins’ group left straight away. Clayton, obviously, brought the twins’ group elsewhere.
*Roar!*
Suddenly, Rean, Roan, and Gootui felt a huge pressure in the air, and they almost lost control over their own Celestial Energy. In the twins’ case, it was Sky Celestial Energy, but it was still deeply affected.
Clayton looked to be okay, though. "Try to calm down and get used to it. This kind of pressure is always present the moment you step out of the Besgol Region’s Sacred Relic Influence. I’ll tell you about this relic later."
They nodded, and slowly, their bodies got used to the pressure, the twins especially. In just a few seconds, Rean and Roan were already back on their feet, although their expressions were serious. Clayton was quite surprised to see that. "Wow... new ascenders usually take at least five minutes or more to get used to this."
The Spirit called Gootui couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. As a top expert back in his Great Void, how long has it been since he felt inferior to anyone in any regard? Still, there was no point in thinking about that, and he just kept trying to get used to it.
It took seven minutes in Gootui’s case to finally be able to move under that pressure. "Just... what is this? It is not... energy pressure... It’s not laws either... It is something different." He asked, still finding it hard to resist.
Rean and Roan, now more or less fine, had to agree with him. At the moment, they were similar to Clayton, but that pressure still imposed significant restrictions on them. "He is right. This pressure is outside of any conventional pressure we felt before. Simply circulating our Celestial Energy became much harder, and even though we can resist it to the point we can move again, it is not something we can prevent from affecting our strength."
Clayton agreed with them. "And you are correct to assume that. Indeed, as long as you are under this pressure, everything gets harder. Moving, circulating energy, controlling laws, controlling elements, so on and so forth. It is something that can’t be blocked, only resisted."
Clayton began to walk again, and the twins followed, with Gootui struggling but also moving behind.
Finally, they arrived in front of an enormous window, and they could see many other beings looking through the same window or other windows further away. All the windows allowed you to see the same place, though.
Inside, there was some kind of slightly golden beast. It wasn’t anything big, probably double the size of a normal lion. In the cultivation world, that truly was pretty much nothing.
Of course, it wasn’t a lion. Its mouth was long, more like a crocodile’s. Its body was scaled, but there weren’t many. Any good cultivator could easily avoid them if they wanted. All in all, that beast didn’t seem to be that strong, just ugly to look at.
Yet, Rean, Roan, and Gootui did not take that guy lightly. That’s because the pressure has increased even more now that they are close to the creature. It couldn’t move, it was being severely restricted by various arrays, and yet, its weird pressure alone weakened the trio and also Clayton. The twins could see a few beads of sweat on Clayton’s head. "Let me guess..."
Clayton cut in. "Yes, that is what we call a Godly Creature, a simple Level Two. This is the Godly Subjulgation Guild, after all. The guild always keeps a few of them in their facilities so those who have never been outside the Sacred Relic’s protective influence can feel what it is like to be outside."
Clayton turned to his group. "Be aware that any mission, task, or whatever you get that requires you to go out must be reported to the Godly Subjulgation Guild. No organization or expert is allowed to go out without making the report, which includes our Sect Master, to show you how important it is."
Roan narrowed his eyes. "Always report? Wouldn’t that put the experts themselves in danger? What if you have enemies waiting for you or something like that? It seems a very bad idea."
Clayton sighed and shook his head. "I won’t say it isn’t possible, but what you are saying is extremely unlikely to happen."
*Buzzzzzzmmmmm...*
Suddenly, an alarm sounded, resonating throughout the city. No, the twins didn’t know yet, but that alarm could actually be heard in the entire country and the neighboring countries, too!
Clayton heard that, his expression turning serious. "Good thing I’m on guiding duty today. I’ll be able to keep a safe distance thanks to you."
The twins and Gootui were puzzled. "What are you talking about?"
Clayton began to walk away. "Come. I’ll show you why internal struggle is something very unlikely to happen in our Besgol Region."
