Chapter 4161: Test
Chapter 4161: Test
Kentucky stayed outside, waiting for the twins’ bodies to grow back to normal. He could obviously return to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. However, if he did that now, he would leave behind his own entrance to the Celestial Realm. With the amount of Divine Senses around, the experts would definitely notice it. Thus, he stayed out and kept Rean’s Light and Divine Sense Bending Skill active.
What took a year and a half before now takes almost four years. The Body Reformation had to rebuild both their Peak Celestial Bodies and Souls accordingly. It goes without saying that it becomes much more time-consuming as one’s cultivation advances.
Just like that, the twins’ bodies began to recover. Outside, the only thing that changed was the Divine Senses. One or another Divine Sense would appear and disappear, a sign that the experts watching the area from inside were often swapped.
Fortunately for Kentucky, the insides of the Reincarnation Path were enormous. If he felt that someone was getting too close to him, he immediately flew somewhere else, making sure not to disrupt the dead souls around, which could reveal his existence.
As expected, no one ever thought such a method could be used. Unless you had a deep knowledge of the Celestial Soul System, thinking about this kind of approach the twins used was just ridiculous.
One year, two years, three years...
On the tenth month of the third year, the system’s voice echoed in the twins’ minds.
[Body Reformation Complete. Cooldown Initialized.]
Roan looked at his hand, opening and closing it without feeling anything wrong. "Alright, thirty-four years without it now."
Rean pondered a bit, stretching his body and checking if everything was fine. "Do you think we’d better wait those thirty-four years before making a move?"
"No," Roan discarded that idea. "We already waited way too much. Let’s go find Aurethra."
Rean didn’t mind, and the two came out of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Kentucky was obviously there, waiting. "Took you two long enough."
Roan ignored the bird, focusing on the surroundings. Due to the number of experts in that place, he obviously couldn’t use Divine Sense, as it would be detected by the experts at the same realm as himself. That said, he contacted Hick and the Primordial Demon beasts inside the Dimensional Realm. ’Do you guys have any idea where we can find Aurethra here?’
Soltrex quickly spoke. ’She is definitely not in this layer of the Reincarnation Path.’
’How do you know?’ The twins and Kentucky asked back.
’The system,’ Soltrex answered. ’If her presence had been detected, you would have received an update of your quest, wouldn’t you? All the Primordial Beasts so far have always given you an update on the quest as early as when you simply heard their names. Yet, did you hear anything related to Aurethra?’
Roan had to admit Soltrex was right. ’No, we got no updates.’
’Don’t worry,’ Soltrex continued. ’She is absolutely here somewhere. Sister Orb allowed us to feel the area around Kentucky from within the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Aurethra’s power is definitely present in this place.’
"Layers of the Reincarnation Path..." Rean thought about it, looking at the enormous dark portal into the distance. "That is very different from the multicolored portal that leads into the River of Forgetfulness, no?"
"That’s because it does not lead into the river," Kentucky commented, and pointed in another direction. "I saw the entrance to the river in that direction instead, while I kept avoiding the experts in this place. It’s just that none of the dead souls in this place are moving inside. Well, considering this gigantic number of dead souls, I don’t think that tiny entrance would be able to support them all. There are just way too many dead souls arriving every second."
Roan pondered a bit. "The Reincarnation Path usually has three layers. The arrival area, where we are at the moment. Then we have the River, where all memories are wiped out, and new souls are born. Last but not least, the transferring layer, where the new and old souls are sent all over the universe to be reborn again."
Rean and Roan couldn’t help but narrow their eyes, their expressions turning ugly. "I truly don’t like to remember it."
They had seen all three layers before... when they first met, and both fell into the Reincarnation Path together.
Rean quickly shook his head. "Forget that. Talking about the layers, the third layer is usually accessible after entering the second layer, isn’t it? That said, we would need to enter the portal to the River of Forgetfulness, and only there we would find the Transferring Layer Portal."
Roan’s attention returned to the enormous Dark Portal. "But if that’s the case, then what exactly is that portal over there?"
Kentucky, Rean, and the others in the Dimensional Realm all looked over. "Indeed... Could it be Aurethra is inside that one?"
"Oh! That’s an easy thing to verify," Rean suddenly said. Then, he began to fly in the direction of the portal that led into the River of Forgetfulness. "You guys wait here. I’ll check the River and the Transferring Layer. If Aurethra is inside any of those, the system will immediately update the quest. If not, then we know she isn’t inside of any of the normal layers, and most likely is inside that Dark Portal or whatever that is."
Roan and Kentucky nodded. That was indeed a very easy and fast way of verifying it. If Rean was wrong, he could instantly return to Roan and Kentucky’s side by simply passing through the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. If he was right, Roan and Kentucky could do the same, going after Rean instead.
Rean volunteered himself because he was the best at his own Light and Divine Bending Skill. There would be a lower chance of him being found. He would also react faster if he saw that his bending was about to be broken.
He kept flying in the direction Kentucky pointed out. Sure enough, he saw the multicolored portal that led to the River Layer. If it wasn’t different from the other Universes, that had to be the right place. And so, he threw himself inside.
