Chapter 4147: Weird Experts
Chapter 4147: Weird Experts
Sure enough, the reward was paid through the werdlem network so neither side could track each other. Not long after, Zuco looked into his CD and saw the gigantic amount of cultivation resources he could take out. "They really paid..."
Zuco didn’t believe straight away, though. He used a teleport formation to go to a capital, and there he tried to exchange what was displayed on his CD for real resources. Obviously, not all at once. If he did that, there was a good chance someone would notice. Nonetheless, it was definitely a good amount that would leave him in a good position for a while.
Seeing the Spatial Ring being passed to him and everything inside, Zuco couldn’t help but get excited. He left the city, teleported back to the Cloco Divine Ocean, and moved straight to his cave. After confirming the turtle was still there, he weighed his options and spoke to the Jade Turtle. "They really, really paid half of the reward, do you believe it?"
Of course, he knew the Jade Turtle wouldn’t answer anything, but he just felt like it.
Now there was his part to be done. He had to bring the turtle somewhere and leave it behind, telling Rean’s group through the CD where he left the turtle. If he did that, he would receive the other half of the reward, and he would be settled for life. No more dangerous trips into the Urchins’ Territory or anything like that. Well, if he truly wanted to improve, he couldn’t run away from danger forever, but at least he could select what and when to go for it.
Yet... Zuco began to feel unwilling. "They are this desperate to get this turtle back... With these resources, I already have enough to spend maybe over a thousand years without having to worry about anything else."
But then, he had an idea. "They obviously can’t track me down, so I might as well tell them to send the rest of the reward before I deliver the Jade Turtle. They won’t have another choice anyway. Then I can keep everything for myself and keep the turtle at the same time. Once my cultivation gets higher, I might even discover what is so good about this guy."
"No, even better!" Zuco couldn’t help but feel the greed building up. "I can keep this scheme, always asking for more resources! Hahaha! If they truly want this turtle that badly, they might pay several times more! It’s genius!!!"
But then, a voice echoed from behind him. "Yeah, it is not a bad idea. In fact, I think I would end up paying several times for it."
Zuco’s heart stopped for a moment as he quickly turned back. His Water Element gathered, and he attacked without thinking twice!
*Puf!*
Yet, his attack was completely nullified by a single finger, and the guy who just talked hadn’t moved at all. "Wow! So strong! You obviously didn’t slack on your own training. The power you showed is quite a bit higher than what I expected from someone of your level."
Who was that person? That was Rean, of course!
Zuco was nervous. How was he found? He made sure to leave no traces, took obscure routes, and showed no abnormalities when he went out. Everyone he talked to, he acted as he always did.
Suddenly, the water element around Zuco covered his Jelly Sea Horse Body, and Zuco himself seemed to turn into water. Then, he tried to flee through tiny cracks on the underwater cave walls, which Rean obviously wouldn’t fit through.
*Bzzz!*
Too bad, though. He met a barrier that he was certain wasn’t there before. He tried to force his way through, but not only did that barrier not move, but it also began to push him back into the cave where the jade Turtle was located.
*Duf!*
Against his will, he returned to the cave. Finally, he understood. He had no chance of escaping. So, he changed back to his normal form, his eyes focusing on Rean. "Just end it already."
Rean looked at him, puzzled. "End what?"
The question confused Zuco, though. "Aren’t you here to kill me?"
"Oh!" Rean smiled in response. "Yeah, you kind of deserve it if you think about it. But forget about that. I won’t bully kids, especially dumb ones."
Rean then floated to the Jade Turtle’s side, taking out several pieces of High-Quality Divine Jades. The turtle finally showed a reaction, something Zuco hasn’t seen happening even once after he acquired it.
Hyeoumu’s body ate the Jades, and slowly, his body returned to normal. That obviously surprised Zuco. "You... You removed the curse?"
"Curse?" Rean looked at him. "Hahaha! Sorry, that was just a bunch of bullshit we spread to force you to show yourself. There is no such thing as a curse."
Then, Rean touched Hyeoumu’s body.
*Zush!*
Just like that, it disappeared inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Zuco might not be able to take it into his, but Rean obviously had no such problem. "Well, that’s it. Here, take it."
Then, Rean threw a Spatial Ring to Zuco, who caught it with his Divine Energy, afraid it was going to explode on his face and wipe him out. But then, he noticed there wasn’t anything wrong. Even more ridiculous, the barrier that was holding him back disappeared as well.
"Farewell, little one. Thank you for finding my friend," Rean said, moving to the cave’s exit.
Zuco was as confused as ever. "Wait! Why are you letting me go? Didn’t you hear what I intended to do? First of all, how did you even find me?!"
Rean stopped for a moment. "I told you, I’m not interested in bullying kids. As for how I found you, it was actually quite simple. You were bound to use those Werdlem Network pages that guarantee anonymity. However, how many places are available around the Cloco Divine Ocean where you can exchange the reward listed in your CD for real-life resources? I might as well tell you, five!"
"Ah!" Zuco finally understood. Indeed, there were very few. "You had people watch those places, right?"
Rean nodded. "Pretty much. You don’t know this, but I have the Big Five in my hands, so having enough personnel to keep an eye on everyone wasn’t that hard. Truth be told, my friends are in other places, following other targets. It just so happens I was the lucky one when I ended up following you. After all, you weren’t the only one doing exchanges in those places. Good for me. Alright, that’s enough explanation from my side. I’m off!"
*Zush!*
Finally, Rean disappeared.
Zuco, still skeptical, decided to take a look at the contents of the Spatial Ring. "This..."
And inside, there was the other half of the reward offered. Not only was Zuco not killed, but he was also paid in full, even after what he said he was going to do. "He said he has the Big Five on his hand, and now this... There sure are some weird experts out there."
