Chapter 4069: Denied
Chapter 4069: Denied
Of course, Zanbril did say before that he wished Xixie were the chosen one. Let’s not forget he mentioned he intended to use their married lives to make her pay back for the slap. However, that was just him trying to put some fear into Xixie, and he wasn’t really bothered by that. If anything, he was entertained by the sudden outcome of that test. In the end, after the answers, he still felt that any of the other princess would be a better choice for him.
*Clap!*
Everyone heard that and looked in Zuey’s direction, who began to speak. "It went better than I expected. At least it was one of the princesses who reached this idiot’s last test, so he has no reason to complain now."
"Brother," Zanbril came forward. "Is that really okay? I don’t think our emotions are compatible at all."
Xixie took a deep breath. Even though she won, she also had the same thoughts. "Indeed. I took part just for the sake of doing it. Considering our positions and feelings, I was pretty certain I was going to be rejected."
Zuey looked at them, laughing out loud. "Hahaha! Sure enough, your feelings are very compatible. The emotions that keep saying you just can’t work together. In the collars’ eyes, they matched perfectly."
"Eh?" Was that reason really okay?
"Sigh..." Zanbril gave up. The collars changed into tattoos, so there was no way back. "I guess you got what you wanted. We will get married."
Xixie nodded slightly. "I at least promised I would do my best, didn’t I? You can count on that."
Zanbril shrugged. "You lack the talents, don’t you? I’m not expecting much from you anymore."
"Don’t worry," Xixie didn’t mind. "I’m not expecting much from you either. As long as I’m not forced to follow the Riquicious Imperial Family’s Traditions, I will have more than enough time to grow on my own. Of course, I will follow all of the Zentian Empire’s rules and do everything that is expected of me in this position. Why am I repeating myself? I already said all of it in that test."
"We will see," Zanbril didn’t hold much hope.
The others began to see it as well. If that was not mutual emotional compatibility, then they didn’t know what it was.
"Wait!" However, one of Zanbril’s protectors intervened. "Zanbril, I have a better idea."
"Glauco?" Zanbril looked at him. "What idea? The collars can’t be removed anymore. She is the only one I can marry. Brother Zuey said so."
Zuey narrowed his eyes. "Glauco, are you saying I was lying?"
Glauco quickly shook his head. "Absolutely not. Please don’t misunderstand. I’m just saying that I have a better idea related to Xixie’s role in the empire."
Rean narrowed his eyes, and Kentucky didn’t seem very happy. They could see it, the red color of killing intent directed at Xixie. In fact, they had noticed it the moment they saw the collar merging with Xixie. It’s just that they couldn’t talk about it. Was the guy planning to attack Xixie right there to kill Zanbril? No, that didn’t make sense. So, the only reason would be that he didn’t want Xixie to be with Zanbril. That seemed a lot more likely. Still, he can’t kill her anymore, so what is he planning?
Glauco continued. "She was just lucky that the kind of emotions the two of them had were similar, but those were obviously not good. Besides, she said it herself, she has no talent, at least no talent worthy of the Zentian Empire’s name."
"Just get to the point," Zuey commanded.
"The rules of the empire only say Zanbril has to get married, but that’s about it. Truth be told, it will be better if she doesn’t appear anymore after this. She has no talent, which also means she is weak and will always be weak. Spending her time out there would be a risk for Zanbril instead. After all, there is no way we can hide the fact that their lives are connected after what everyone saw today. Even if no one tries to take advantage of the fact she is weak to kill her, she will live a lot less than Zanbril if she can’t reach the Space-Time Realm."
Glauco didn’t stop. "That said, she must be sealed in a time-slowing formation in a safe place of our empire and stay there forever. That’s the best way of guaranteeing Zanbril will never lose his life because of her."
"You!" Hoblio couldn’t hold back anymore.
"Hmph!" However, Glauco snorted, and his Celestial Energy descended on Hoblio. Hoblio was immediately forced to the ground, not being able to move a muscle. He was a Peak Divinity, but he couldn’t possibly do anything against a Celestial, even if Glauco was only in the Initial Stage.
"Brother!" Xixie ran to him, but Glauco also stopped her with his Celestial Energy.
"Zanbril," Glauco spoke. "As a prince of Zentian, you should know this is the best option. She can cultivate in that time slowing formation, giving you millions of years to ascend one day, even if she doesn’t reach the Space-Time Realm. Then you can find a way to remove the collar’s effect in the Celestial Plane."
Zanbril didn’t feel it was right, but he noticed his brother, Zuey, went quiet. If the empire’s face was at play, that obviously seemed the best option.
*Bang!*
Suddenly, the Celestial Energy that held Xixie in place was pushed back, and Kentucky covered the girl. "Best option, your ass! Do you know what it is to be stuck in the same place for countless years? Fuck you! She is doing no such thing!"
At the same time, he was thinking. ’Those cultivation sessions with Celis were pure hell!’
Rean didn’t hear Kentucky’s thoughts, but he absolutely knew what he was thinking too. ’Well, it is not like I enjoyed cultivating nonstop either...’
"You!" Glauco didn’t expect a Divinity to be able to force his Celestial Energy back. Of course, he wasn’t going all out. He also didn’t use any laws, but it was still quite humiliating.
"Enough!" Zanbril intervened before things escalated. He knew Rean and Kentucky’s potential, and he definitely didn’t want to antagonize them. "Kentucky, I understand your concerns, but I can promise I will cultivate as fast as possible to set her free. Besides, since she will be in a time-slowing formation, she will experience way less time than I will outside. In exchange, she will have all the cultivation resources she could possibly wish for in that formation. How about that?"
Kentucky narrowed his eyes, turning to Xixie instead. If she wanted just to cultivate, maybe that wasn’t too bad of an idea. ’It is up to you.’
Xixie, however, was tearing up. Didn’t she do all of this precisely because she wanted to be free? Was that freedom? ’I...’
Kentucky didn’t need to hear an answer, looking back at Zanbril. "Denied!"
Rean scratched the back of his head. ’Roan, we might need to use the beacon.’
Roan, who watched the scene in the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, didn’t look very happy. ’So much for the identities we built...’
