Chapter 4042: Big Brother
Chapter 4042: Big Brother
"Xixie," Kentucky turned in her direction. "Do you need anything from us? If not, Rean and I will take a look around."
Xixie didn’t. The main obstacle was acceptance, and now it was done. "No. Thank you for your help, seniors. I’m going to check our residence with my brothers. I also need to prepare for whatever might come."
"Good!" Rean and Kentucky got ready to leave. "Then we will see you later."
However, Derfiu caught up to them. "Wait!"
Rean and Kentucky stopped, looking back at him. "Did we forget anything?"
"That’s not it," Derfiu shook his head. "Why didn’t you tell us Roan and Celis were with you? We thought there were only the two of you. Do they also have their Celestial Laws ready for a breakthrough attempt?"
"Oh! That!" Rean smiled at them. "Yes, they have also absorbed their Celestial Laws already. Why? Do you wish to add them to the Riquicious Empire’s entourage? We don’t have the Tombassin Sect’s Recruitment Card for them, though. We only got two."
Derfiu was shocked. "Just... just how did you find your Celestial Laws that easily? Back during the Future Realm, we had our guys investigate everyone who made it to the end. We know you needed the Celestial Laws of Light, Darkness, Absorption, and Wood. How come you found all those four?"
It wasn’t any secret indeed. When the twins’ group returned to Runia, they displayed what they could do. Well, not their real strength, but they didn’t hide their laws, for example. Once again, they were creating a new past, present, and future in the Werdlem Empire. It would be better if the information regarding them already listed the laws they used. It was the same for everyone in a place with something like the Werdlem Network, which covered so many Universes.
Could they have opted for hiding the fact that they could use two laws each? Of course, they could. But it wouldn’t be of much use. Sooner or later, they would use both, and everyone would know, thanks to the Werdlem Network. They were not trying to live in the shadows anymore. That was Roan’s decision when they got to A1.
"How did we do that? Hum... let’s just say we paid a very high price to get them. Does this answer satisfy you?" Rean answered without actually answering anything.
"Hahaha!" Kentucky just laughed, though. "When we asked why the Zentian Empire would invite such a faraway power like your Riquicious, you also didn’t want to talk about it. We won’t hear any complaints about us keeping our secrets either."
Derfiu was indeed going to complain, but he shut his mouth. Yes, they also had their own secrets, and Rean and Kentucky did not insist when they refused to talk. If Derfiu insisted on an answer, he would just be humiliating himself and probably wouldn’t get an answer anyway. "I see... Later, let’s talk about it. Hoblio and I are also looking for our Celestial Laws. You don’t need to tell us how you did it, but if you have some way of helping us find ours, we will definitely pay you handsomely."
Rean and Kentucky began to walk away. "Unfortunately, what we did is not something you can try. Don’t get us wrong. We are not saying you are weak, lack talent, or any of that. It’s just that our method is no longer within reach. That’s all we can tell you."
Derfiu watched as those two walked away, sighing. Maybe he was wrong to treat them coldly earlier. In any case, his main objective hasn’t changed. "Alright, Xixie, let’s go check our residence."
"Yes, brother."
---
Rean flew with Kentucky as he checked the information he received on his CD.
"Did you find her?" Kentucky asked on the side, curious.
"She is using a different name, and she is only working as someone’s protector. I’m actually looking for Lufua. That’s the girl she is helping," Rean explained. "Let’s see... Lufua is an Astral Wisp, which is a Divine Race of Spirits. Oh, they actually cultivate with Starlight Energy, too."
"Astral Wisp?" Kentucky thought about it. "I didn’t expect Spirits to have things like princesses. Do they also have an Empire?"
Rean shrugged. "Who knows? Anyway, Lufua came from the Star Soaked Land, a place where Starlight Energy reaches the ground in higher concentrations. Makes sense, as most Spirit Races’ origins are highly dependent on the environment. About the Empire thing, there are indeed a few continents under this Astral Wisp Race’s umbrella. Maybe that’s it? Well, whatever. It says here that their land gets about 20% more Starlight Energy than the average. Not too shabby if you ask me."
Of course, compared to what their formation could do, that was basically nothing.
"Okay," Kentucky heard it all. "And where are they?"
Rean landed in front of another residence in the Palace. It wasn’t anything that big, likely the same size as his Riquicious Empire’s Residence. "Should be here. Let’s try to call them."
Rean approached the gate, and there was a Spirit in front of it, likely an Astral Wisp too. "Hello, friend. Could you check if Lufua is around? If not, it can be her protector. I believe she goes by the name of Clova."
The guard didn’t simply do as they asked. "And why should I do that? Who the hell are you? No Zentian Palace clothes, so I guess you are not related to Zentian, now are you?"
Rean shook his head. "No, we are outsiders, just like you. We are also here with our own princess for the selection five days from now. But we are friends with Clova, so just tell her Rean and Kentucky are here. She will understand."
"Hmph!" The wisp was even less inclined to hear them. "Do I look like an idiot? What are you really here for? Prying into the competition? Get out, will you? Our princess has better things to do than entertain the enemy."
"Can you at least give us the CD number of her protector, Clova?" Rean insisted.
"That is even more ridiculous," which the wisp refused. "Stop bothering me, or I will denounce you guys. I believe you don’t want to cause trouble in the Zentian Imperial Palace, now do you?"
Rean scratched the back of his head. His Divine Sense couldn’t get inside the residence, so he couldn’t try to contact Havira directly. He definitely wouldn’t force his way in. In fact, Clova/Havira didn’t even have a number, as she is hiding from the Werdlem Network. He could ask Sister Orb to hack the formations of the residence, but there wasn’t a need to go that far.
"Well, they will have to come out sooner or later."
"Are we just going to wait here?" Kentucky already felt bored.
"It’s just five days at most. No big deal." Rean was okay with waiting.
However, it was at that moment that someone got in between Rean and Kentucky, pushing the two aside slightly. At the same time, he put his arms around Rean and Kentucky’s shoulders, stopping there. "Why wait? All you need is your Big Brother Hex to say a few words, and this Wisp will let us in."
Rean and Kentucky’s hearts almost stopped! They didn’t notice the guy approaching them at all. No, wait! Did he just say Hex? The two looked at the guy’s face, and sure enough, it was Hex, the same guy who brought Rean and Roan to the Werdlem Empire!
"You motherfucker!!!"
