Death… And Me

Chapter 4040: To Zentian

Chapter 4040: To Zentian

The girl came over, a cultivator at the Void Tempering Realm. Rean and Kentucky were given her information straight away. She was twenty-seven years old and was in the Peak Stage of the Void Tempering. From a cultivator’s point of view, she was actually very young for marriage.

By her side, two men walked over to Rean and Kentucky, both of them in the Divinity Realm Peak Stage. Those two were her brothers, and they also carried two Tombassin Sect Recruitment Cards.

’Well, her parents must be pretty active. The age gap between the girl and her brothers is in the tens of thousands of years,’ Kentucky said, also looking into the girl’s brothers’ information.

’That is a good thing.’ Rean smiled. ’However, I doubt they are all children from the same mother.’

’Do you mean, a harem?’ Kentucky asked back.

’Well, it isn’t hard to believe, right?’ Rean shrugged. ’This is an Imperial Family, so what stops the Emperor of the Riquicious Empire from having concubines and such?’

’That’s true...’ Kentucky had to admit Rean was right. ’You’d better not entertain the same idea.’

’Obviously. I don’t want to die once we get back to Lisan.’ And Rean agreed.

"Hello, seniors," Xixie said, stepping forward and bowing to them.

Her brothers, Derfiu and Hoblio, just watched from the side. Since they were also divinities at the same stage, they didn’t see a reason to treat Rean and Kentucky all that courteously. They actually believed that with their background and upbringing, they were stronger, even if they hadn’t absorbed Celestial Laws.

"Hello, kid." Rean complimented her back. "It is still not decided if we are going with you, so let’s hear what friend Emmanuel has to say."

Emmanuel nodded and began.

Turns out that having a Divinity who absorbed his Celestial Laws was the least those interested in the Zentian Prince had to show. However, just that wasn’t enough at all.

There are definitely tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of Divinity Realm Experts for each Divinity who managed to acquire their Celestial Laws. However, if you take the size of the Divine Realm into consideration, you would definitely find countless of them once put together.

Even if you were a below-average Divinity, there was still a chance you could reach the Peak Stage with enough time. Above all, a chance of finding your correct Celestial Laws to absorb. The second part was highly dependent on luck instead of just strength, after all. Having your Celestial Laws absorbed and even merged with your Major Laws meant nothing. The twins’ group could confirm it. They haven’t got even an iota stronger than they were before they merged their Major and Celestial Laws.

Why were they not stronger? Because they didn’t comprehend those laws. That meant they couldn’t even use those Celestial Laws like they could their Major Laws of Light and Darkness. The only thing they could use those Celestial Laws for was to connect to the Celestial Plane.

That said, for the Zentian Empire, which is an enormous power of the Central Region, Divinities with Absorbed Celestial Laws didn’t mean much. What really made the difference was their potential. What better way is there to prove that you possess the potential to truly reach the Celestial Realm one day than through the recognition of the Tombassin Sect?

The Tombassin Sect’s Cards are incredibly difficult to acquire, even for the powers of the Central Region. The Riquicious Empire was just lucky enough for the Future Realm to exist in their territory, so they got two cards every fifty thousand years as payment for the management of the Future Realm.

For the vast majority, they either impressed the Tombassin Sect or proved they had what it takes to acquire such cards on their own. Of course, it didn’t mean there were no Divinities with both their Absorbed Laws and Cards who were still weak and average. However, they would definitely be extremely rare.

In the end, if you are a Divinity with Absorbed Celestial Laws and with a Tombassin Sect Recruitment Card, you are very likely to be worth the Zentian Empire’s time.

That’s why the Riquicious Empire was so desperate to find a Divinity who fulfilled both requirements, having the card and the Absorbed Celestial Laws. Their own two Divinities, who had absorbed their necessary Celestial Laws, were nowhere to be found, likely bound by those contracts.

The Riquicious Empire was even willing to give away one of their cards as long as they found someone with their Absorbed Laws. But, once again, the only ones they knew about at the moment were part of other rival powers, so they obviously couldn’t give it to them.

That said, you could imagine how lucky Riquicious felt when Rean and Kentucky suddenly appeared. Not only did they already have their cards, which probably meant they had the strength to back themselves, but they also had their Celestial Laws. Riquicious wouldn’t even need to give away one of their only two cards.

"So that’s how it is..." Rean and Kentucky understood. "We are kind of a display of strength from Riquicious."

"That’s correct," Emmanuel didn’t deny that. "We will also add you as members of Riquicious temporarily in the Werdlem Network."

"Still, one thing is confusing," Rean pointed out. "How come you got the invitation from the Zentian Empire? I don’t want to sound rude, but a power like that probably would have never even heard of your Riquicious Empire, let alone invite you for this fight for the prince’s hand or whatever."

Xixie’s brothers narrowed their eyes. Rean did say he didn’t want to sound rude, but those words definitely didn’t sit well with them. "Does it matter?"

Rean glanced at the two, noticing they weren’t very happy with him and Kentucky. "Actually, it doesn’t. I will not pry into someone’s secrets. You must have some kind of connection with the Zentian Empire, that’s all I need to know. If this is something you can’t talk about, so be it."

Emmanuel glared at the two brothers. He was a Divinity Peak Stage like the two, but he still held a higher position in the Empire. "You two, shut up! We are asking them for a favor, so what kind of attitude is that? Don’t forget they have no obligation whatsoever to help us."

"Hmph!" Derfiu snorted. "They are only in this to get that free pass to BH1 without having to sign any contracts."

Emmanuel got even angrier. "Are you an idiot?! This agreement to get to BH1 without a contract will only work if Xixie is selected! They know there is no guarantee it will work! If anything, chances are Xixie won’t be the last one standing."

Rean smiled. Of course, they knew all of that. If not because of Havira’s sudden appearance, they wouldn’t have accepted this agreement in the first place. Who cares about BH1? "It’s fine, it’s fine. They are just worried about their little sister. There is also their pride in play. Truth be told, they are likely older than we are by a very large margin, so it is hard for them to accept that we got our Celestial Laws and they didn’t. The world is like that, not fair."

Were they really older? If we talk about Roan, they definitely weren’t. As for Rean and Kentucky, it was hard to say. Well, they wouldn’t mention that.

"Alright, this is it." Emmanuel sighed in relief. "There are other things you need to know, but Xixie will explain on the way. Please, come to the Great Void Shifter Formation. We are redirecting it to the Zentian Empire instead."
