Chapter 3714: Found!
Chapter 3714: Found!
Rean then proceeded to explain the origins of that story. He told how Kentucky was left in the Mortal World, then they found him, and that it was Ratria and Ploto who did it. Of course, he left many details out as well.
Reliance was obviously shocked to hear the whole tale, finding it even harder to believe that Kentucky ended up coming to this Werdlem Empire. He had heard from the twins how they were brought here by Hex, who seemed to be a fellow brother to Soul Gem as well. "Are there such coincidences?"
"Seems like there is," Rean shrugged. Well, deep inside, Rean was cursing and blaming the system’s destiny attraction nonstop.
"Anyway, so we just need to find the Dreadoxes," Roan took from there. "Reliance, give us your Werdlem ID so we can call you later. Our group will find someone to knock out and then teleport to the border."
Reliance didn’t mind it, but he also wanted the twins’ group’s help. "Before that, give me a hand with my own mission."
"Which is?"
"I’ll come outside," Reliance didn’t speak straight away. "Where are you at?"
"In the restaurant closest to the hotel," Rean said.
Reliance immediately took his things and came down. After a few minutes, he was already in the restaurant, but he didn’t get close to Rean and Kentucky. He kept his distance, intending to use only Divine Sense to speak. ’Okay. The reason for me to be here is that an informant should have arrived a few days ago. I’ve been visiting the various shops around the city, hoping to spot him.’
’Couldn’t you have used the Werdlem Network?’ Kentucky found it strange. They didn’t need to discuss anything sensitive in the network, only find a place to meet. Why would Reliance waste time looking for the guy?
Reliance obviously had his reasons. Turns out that Reliance didn’t have the guy’s ID. As one could expect, the scope of a war for the control of a Universe was enormous, and there were many spies everywhere. But that wasn’t all. There were also those who didn’t like the side they were part of, or some who simply didn’t care about it and were willing to sell any information for the right price.
The Demon beasts received a tip from within the Humanoid Races, saying that there was someone they could acquire information from for a certain cost. The problem was that the informant didn’t want to have his ID to be known. After all, if he is found, the humanoid races would definitely kill him. Even if not, his ID could definitely be blocked in the future if the humanoids come out on top. Worst of all, the informant could end up with his connection with the energies of the world cut forever. That was worse than death to most high-level experts.
The clue to find him was Reliance’s mask. The informant would get in contact with Reliance in a random store or shop in this city. However, which one? They didn’t know. Thus, Reliance visited all stores and shops he could in a day before going back to the hotel, and he had been doing it for a few days already. It’s just that this city is enormous, so it would take several more days to visit them all. Of course, the informant might get in contact before that, as long as he sees Reliance and thinks it is safe enough to approach Reliance.
’That is another reason why I didn’t want you to get involved. The Demon Beasts were supposed to send only one representative to buy the information, so I couldn’t really be seen with more people,’ Reliance finished.
’So that’s what is happening...’ Rean and Kentucky nodded while Roan observed from within the Dimensional Realm.
’So, here is where I need your help,’ Reliance entered the main topic. ’Since you said you can copy someone’s ID with enough time, that means you can somehow read the Werdlem Stone’s Energy, right? Would you be able to do that and find out who is selling the information? I’m sure this informant will not be using his real name or appearance. If I find out who he really is, the demon beasts can use that information to get him to work for us.’
’So, you want us to help you blackmail someone,’ Roan resumed the whole thing.
’Exactly,’ Reliance didn’t try to sugarcoat it. ’Can you do that without showing your presence?’
’Shouldn’t be too hard... or so I wanted to say,’ Rean explained. ’I can analyze his Werdlem Stone Energy to find his real ID. The problem is that I need access to it. Remember when I said I intended to knock someone out before copying his ID? It wasn’t just because we couldn’t have two experts using the same ID in the network. It was also so that I could have contact with this expert’s Werdlem Stone Energy up close.’
Reliance narrowed his eyes. ’If you approach too much, this informant will never reveal himself.’
Roan couldn’t help but ask. ’Aren’t you afraid this is a trap? I don’t know how the Demon Beasts found out about this guy, but it might be just a plot to capture you.’
’I hardly think so,’ Reliance shook his head. ’After all, what use would be there in capturing a low-level expert from the Demon Beasts? No one would ever expect the Demon Beasts to send someone important.’
Roan had his doubts, but Reliance’s words made sense, too. ’Perhaps you are right.’
But then, Reliance sighed. ’Yet, if you need to get close and maybe even touch the guy, it will be difficult to use your ability to find his ID. You probably need time to do that too.’
’That’s correct,’ Rean confirmed. But then, he smiled. ’However, there is no need to worry.’
Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Roan had many holographic screens opened in front of him, provided by Sister Orb. One, in particular, was magnified in front of Roan, his mind certain of what he was seeing. ’Found him... actually her. She is watching Reliance from two blocks away with her Divine Sense.’
