Chapter 3690: Sales!
Chapter 3690: Sales!
"Sister Orb, that wasn’t you, was it?" Roan glared at the Orb.
[Don’t look at me! I had nothing to do with that! It was the system!]
"How can I not look at you when you live inside the same place as the system? You are both inside the Control Orb," Rean commented.
[Well... Yes... We are, but I did not say anything. It was the system, okay?]
As always, only Rean, Roan, and Sister Orb could listen when the system spoke, so they had to tell Kentucky, Celis, and Zangeshu about what they had just heard.
"Since when has the system become a supermarket on sale day?" Kentucky couldn’t help but ask.
"Why doesn’t it actually make a promotion to send us back to Lisan Universe?" Rean complained. "I don’t know, 100 Celestial Points to be teleported back. Wouldn’t that be great? Sigh... who am I trying to fool here? No way it would do such a thing."
"I’m more curious about what the Terms and Conditions are..." Celis also felt puzzled.
[From the looks of it, the Terms and Conditions are basically that the Celestial Clue can only be used for that one task. Anything else we ask will have a random price based on difficulty... or so I think.]
Rean narrowed his eyes. "It is almost as if the system is forcing us to go find another system. I mean, the moment we decided to ignore that quest, it came up with this ’promotion,’ didn’t it? Shall we buy it?"
Roan didn’t like how the system acted, but he also couldn’t deny that the ’promotion’ was pretty good. "We have 413 Celestial Points remaining. Since asking for that clue costs only 10 points and will only last 24 hours, we’d better get it. This other system thing might come in handy later on, depending on what the new upgrades will be."
Everyone nodded. It was truly cheap, even if the system seemed to be leading them into it.
As soon as the twins took a look at the list, the specific option was there too.
[Promotional Celestial Clue: 10 Celestial Points.]
[Proceed with request?]
They looked at each other, nodding.
"Yes!"
[Task accepted.]
Just like the last time, the system went silent for a while, obviously gathering the information necessary. The twins’ group just waited until it spoke again, which didn’t happen for the next ten minutes.
*Pin!*
[Not all systems are beneficial. There were many times when systems have gone awry. They might have destroyed their hosts, or maybe they simply ended up being of no use whatsoever. There were also times when they were good, but their abilities didn’t match the race of their hosts. In the worst cases, some systems went corrupt, creating all kinds of problems, some with Universe-sized repercussions. You never know where it could go wrong.]
The system didn’t stop there.
[One of such systems can be found within the Rank D Universes. It has been isolated and all information about its location wiped out. However, clues can be found as long as the hosts have a higher authority level in the Werdlem Network.]
And that was all the Celestial Soul System said.
"Alright, a Rank D Universe. Our system said information about this other system has been wiped out, but we can get some clues from the network with higher authority," Rean analyzed. "It is pretty much asking us to go talk to Triaglia or maybe Rifindio."
"Rifindio won’t be back anytime soon, and Triaglia made it pretty obvious she doesn’t want to see our faces anymore. If we go after her, she might end up killing us instead," Roan added.
"But do we really need to go after it?" Kentucky still found it a pretty meaningless task. "We won’t lose anything if we ignore it anyway."
"For now, it is indeed meaningless," Zangeshu had his opinion. "I don’t think it would be a good idea to try to move to other Universes as we are now. First, it would be better if you used all the Starlight Fruits to cultivate. Then you can think about going out."
Celis would kiss Zangeshu if he could. "Well said! Alright, we have our cultivation upgrades done, and we have the resources. We can decide our next step once we increase our strength. Does anyone have anything against this plan?"
Everyone shook their heads. It was already the initial plan anyway.
"Good!" Celis was happy to hear that. "Then, let’s start."
"Right, Master," Zangeshu turned to Rean. "I’m going out for a while. I want to test out the runes I made. Perhaps I will be able to upgrade the System Armor."
"Oh, right!" Rean nodded. "You did mention you would be working on the armor’s runes while we were in the Golden Palace. Very well. Just take as many Divine Stones as you need and buy whatever you find necessary. With your cultivation, you have no need for us to go out with you or whatever. Also, because you were confined in the Dimensional Realm for so long, I can already feel the backlash of your cultivation accumulating for the lack of proper outside training."
"That is also true." Part of Zangeshu’s plan was to catch up with his cultivation schedule as well. "Anyway, thank you, Master. I will go now."
*Zush!*
Zangeshu disappeared. As long as he knew where the entrance to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm was, he could come and go any time. Not to mention, he could simply use his CD to contact Rean and the others outside if necessary.
*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*
Several of the Starlight Fruits appeared around, although only one of the fruits was put on the formations Zangeshu prepared. Celis quickly jumped on it, and his roots entangled around the fruit and several different points in the formation. "Oh yeah... this is nice!"
Kentucky flew to his nest on Celis’s Branches, although he didn’t look as happy. "And here we go, another long time of boredom."
Roan didn’t say anything and sat down, taking out several Rank Eight Divine Stones. Rean followed suit, waiting for Celis’s Signal.
"Alright, this is it. Let’s start!" Finally, the time to collect the fruits of their labor arrived.
