Chapter 3688: Upgrades
Chapter 3688: Upgrades
Seeing that Elsie had left, Kentucky took the chance to ask Rean. "By the way, have you managed to contact Rifindio?"
Unfortunately, he didn’t. "No. Chances are, there is no Werdlem Network Signal available where Rifindio is located. Or maybe he simply doesn’t have time to look into his CD at the moment. Well, Victor said he will reach the Celestial Realm in a thousand to two thousand years, so he must be quite busy."
Rean made his way out of the city with Kentucky. "Anyway, it doesn’t matter much to us. Let’s find some place to settle down."
The two quickly left the City, heading towards the more remote regions of that continent. There, Rean and Kentucky prepared another hidden location, entering the Dimensional Realm from there.
"You guys took forever!" Celis complained. He already had Zangeshu prepare the formations and was just waiting for the twins.
"What about Roan?" Rean asked. "Is he free now?"
"I’m here," Roan appeared out of nowhere, his expression cold as ever. "I used these last days to consolidate the knowledge we got this last time. I’ll share my memories with you, idiot. Take a look."
Rean checked that and saw that Roan fine-tuned the new skills they acquired in the Palace, like the Crimson Lightning Movement. He also added a few touches to Rean’s Red Lightning and Light Element enhancement skill. Their skills didn’t get stronger, but they were quite a lot more efficient now, especially in the damaging body part.
"This is quite good," Rean admitted. "Then take a look at this." Right after, he shared his memories as well of the improvements he came up with.
Rean didn’t touch the movement technique, but the enhancement with Light Element and Red Lightning was originally his idea.
Roan checked the new memories and nodded, satisfied. "If we add your improvements and mine, we should be able to keep the Red Lightning and Light Element Enhancement running for more than just a second."
"Yes," Rean agreed with him. "Two seconds should be possible, and we haven’t started cultivating yet."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah... good for you!" Celis didn’t want to wait anymore. "Just get over it and let’s start."
The twins nodded and called Sister Orb. Then, touching the Control Orb, the Upgrades List appeared in their mind.
"The cultivation enhancement, right?"
"That’s the idea."
Together, the twins wished the same thing.
[Universal Cultivation Enhancement Level 4: 50 Celestial Points]
[Celestial Points: 1023]
[Proceed with the Upgrade?]
"Yes!" The twins said.
[Task accepted.]
Immediately, Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky felt their bodies change, just like the previous times when they bought a level of this upgrade. Soon, they could tell that it became slightly easier to absorb and convert the energies for their cultivation.
"Another 5% extra cultivation speed." Rean was happy to feel that.
"It’s not over yet! Check the next level." Celis wanted a lot more, though.
The twins checked the list, and the new values were made available.
[Universal Cultivation Enhancement Level 5: 500 Celestial Points]
"Wow!" Rean was taken aback. "The price went up ten times! Isn’t it a little too much?"
Roan didn’t expect that either. "Perhaps that’s because cultivation speed enhancement is a very crucial part of our development. Besides, it also includes the speed of the conversion of Divine Energy, Soul Energy, and Starlight Energy into Sky Energy." They cultivated now with Sky Energy, which needed those three energies to be created, so it made sense.
Of course, they still bought it. The idea was to buy at least two levels, and three if the price allowed.
[Universal Cultivation Enhancement Level 5: 500 Celestial Points]
[Celestial Points: 973]
[Proceed with the Upgrade?]
"Yes!"
[Task accepted.]
The transformation started again, with no side effects whatsoever. By the time it finished, the twins’ group could feel the difference just like before. "With this, our cultivation speed increased by another 10%"
"How much is it to buy the next level?" Celis asked, curious.
The twins checked, sharing it with everyone.
[Universal Cultivation Enhancement Level 6: 5000 Celestial Points]
"Yeap, absolutely no chance of buying this thing any time soon," Kentucky commented.
[Rean, Roan,] Sister Orb took the chance to speak. [Since you still have 473 Celestial Points, you might as well buy the range upgrade.]
Roan was already thinking about that. "Sister Orb is right. That would make it a lot easier to work together in the future, especially since all four of us can enter and leave the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm."
Rean and the others had no complaints. "The Range Upgrade it is then!"
[Soul Connection Range Upgrade Level 7: 60 Celestial Points]
[Celestial Points: 473]
[Proceed with the Upgrade?]
"Yes!"
[Task accepted.]
For a moment, the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm seemed to distort. The border of the realm shone with a yellow and silver light as well. It only lasted a second, though. And then, everything was over.
[Upgrade concluded. New Soul Connection Range: 01 Light Year.]
"How much is a Light Year?" Kentucky wondered. He knew Rean mentioned it before, but he couldn’t remember.
[Almost ten trillion kilometers,] Sister Orb didn’t mind answering the question.
"That’s a lot more than the previous one million kilometers range we had..." Celis commented.
Rean and Roan didn’t stop, though. They quickly checked how much the next level costs.
[Soul Connection Range Upgrade Level 8: 1100 Celestial Points] (One Million Light Years)
"The price skyrocketed again, but the range upgrade was even more so," Rean said as he looked at that.
Of course, even if they wanted to buy it, they didn’t have the points. "Forget it. We don’t even know when we will get more Celestial Points."
"Should we save the remaining 413 points or do we buy something else?" Rean ignored the next range upgrade.
"Buy what?" Roan asked, looking at him in disdain. "There is literally nothing else left to purchase. The Celestial Destiny Shift costs one million points, and we’ve already bought the bone upgrades. The next levels for the Range and Cultivation Upgrades cost more points than we have. The only option remaining is the Celestial Clue."
Rean checked the list and had to admit Roan was right. "Well, we already got the Starlight Fruits, so we don’t really have a reason to use the clue right now."
Roan confirmed. "Exactly." But he also took another look at the Upgrades List. "Still... this system is truly lacking in upgrades compared to when we started."
Everyone nodded. They also felt it was the case. But then...
*Pin!*
[New Quest Available.]
"Something tells me you shouldn’t have mentioned that..." Rean commented before the system spoke more.
