Chapter 674 - Battle
Chapter 674: Battle
I looked at Tong Hui sympathetically. “Uncle is truly a kind-hearted father. It’s a pity that your son doesn’t appreciate your kindness.”
Tong Zhuo sneered. “If it weren’t for him, would I have ended up in this state? This is all his fault!”
I nodded in agreement. “That’s true. Without him, my little uncle and my family wouldn’t have been destroyed.”
Tong Zhuo said disdainfully, “What does that have to do with me? Everything I’ve suffered is because of your Phoenix Blood. You’re the bane of the Tong family!”
I smiled. “I’m sorry. I won’t take the blame for this. It’s not that I want to be born with the Phoenix Blood. Your obsession with the Phoenix Blood is not my issue either.”
“You sure know how to shirk responsibility. But stop talking nonsense and come with me, or all these people will die!” Tong Zhuo said fiercely.
I didn’t say anything. I looked at Tong Zhuo quietly.
“Nanxing, get down!” Jing Tian’s urgent voice came from behind me.
A series of gunshots sounded behind me.
I rolled forward instinctively. I reached out my hand and grabbed the leg of the gunman beside Vincent. I pulled him down. His gun went off, and the bullets flew into the air.
I spun around on the ground and kicked the people beside Daisy away.
“Run!” I shouted at the two of them.
I didn’t dare to relax my grip. After all, those people were aiming their guns at me.
I had already activated the greatest potential in my body. I wasn’t worried about Tong Zhuo at all. I could trust Jing Tian to keep him busy.
The sound of gunshots rose and fell, but I wasn’t distracted. Jing Tian would have less burden if I killed one more person. I believed that Jing Tian was thinking about the same thing.
My left arm suddenly went numb. I was shot.
I didn’t have time to think about it. While the person nearest to me was down on the ground, I grabbed his gun. I fired a volley of shots. The recoil hit me, and I fell to the ground. My left arm pulsed with pain, but I didn’t care. Those high-ranking officials and nobles fled in all directions while howling like ghosts. Tong Zhuo’s subordinates were all brave and valiant. I could feel the blood in my body boiling and surging. My movements became smoother, and my marksmanship became more accurate.
As the bullets were fired, the disguise of the room slowly shed. I started to see pieces of the banquet hall peeking through. Tong Zhuo was very good with this technology.
However, how did Jing Tian figure it out? I admired him greatly. I had to ask him later to tell me how he discovered all of this.
Jing Tian asked me to stall for time. I thought it was to give him the opportunity to attack. I didn’t expect that he was actually trying to buy time for the people outside.
The intense firefights cleared up my mind.
There were other people who had joined the firefight. Otherwise, with just Jing Tian and me, the firefight wouldn’t be so intense.
Tong Hui spun his wheelchair and said anxiously, “Tong Zhuo, Tong Zhuo, leave! Don’t fight anymore!”
However, Tong Zhuo and Jing Tian were already entangled in the fight.
I sneered and pulled the trigger. I pulled out a dagger from one of Tong Zhuo’s fallen men. I pressed the tip of the dagger against Tong Hui’s neck.
“Tong Zhuo, tell your men to stop, or I’ll kill him!” I shouted loudly.
Tong Zhuo turned his head around, but his movements paused for a moment.
Jing Tian stepped back, gasping for breath.
Tong Zhuo looked at me and smiled. “Nanxing, you’re cute. But you won’t have the heart to kill him.”
I glared at him.
Tong Zhuo turned to Jing Tian. “I’m very curious. How did you see through this illusionary realm?”
