Chapter 2536: Prime Eternal Hilla(2)
Chapter 2536: Prime Eternal Hilla(2)
Shiva cried inwardly when she heard Hilla’s words, but she didn’t dare to complain and stopped to face her invisible figure.
"What do you want from me?" Shiva asked with a slight frown.
Even though she was facing a Prime Eternal, Shiva was still an Eternal herself and had to maintain her composure. As long as she did nothing to offend Hilla, she had no real reason to fear her.
Meanwhile, Yuan also stopped to watch them. However, both Shiva and Hilla suddenly vanished from his perception, becoming completely invisible and undetectable even to his divine sense.
’I guess she doesn’t want me to hear whatever they are going to discuss...’ Yuan shook his head inwardly.
Still, he lingered, as he did not want to leave without Shiva.
Not far away, Hilla and Shiva began their conversation within a concealment barrier.
"Why are you with this mortal? Last I heard, you were sealed after losing a fight." Hilla questioned.
"He was the one who freed me from my seal," Shiva answered truthfully. "And he promised to help me regain my true body, so I am just following him around until then."
"So, you have no intention of acquiring the power that resides within his world?"
"The Absolute Power? Hah!" Shiva sneered. "I am not stupid enough to chase after some imaginary power that nobody has been able to prove truly exists."
"Even though there is evidence that it exists?"
"If you mean how our powers get weaker the closer we get to that world, I wouldn’t consider it real evidence. Who knows? It could be a special trait of the world and has nothing to do with the Absolute Power."
"..."
Hilla fell silent, as if pondering something.
"Did you stop me just to ask me a few questions?" Shiva then asked.
"That mortal..." Hilla spoke, but paused midway and did not continue.
"No... forget it. There are still a few things I need to confirm."
"What do you mean?" Shilva raised her eyebrows, looking puzzled.
However, Hilla refused to elaborate and vanished into the void.
At the same time, the barrier around Shiva disappeared, allowing Yuan to see her again.
Shiva turned to look at him and remarked, "You’re still here?"
"Why would I leave without you? Unlike a certain someone, I am not the type to abandon others," Yuan replied, taking a jab at her for abandoning him before.
Shiva sucked her teeth in annoyance but did not say anything else and returned control of the body to Mu Xuelian.
Shortly later, Yuan and Mu Xuelian continued leaving the Primordial Chaos, quickly returning to the Nine Heavens.
"I’m surprised that she actually let us go so quickly," Yuan muttered.
"Lord Shiva said it’s unexpected but not shocking, considering that Prime Eternal Hilla is the most mysterious amongst the five Prime Eternals," Mu Xuelian said.
"The most mysterious?" Yuan asked.
"Lord Shiva said that nobody ever knows what she’s thinking, and that she doesn’t participate in a lot of things, merely keeping to herself."
"The only thing I want to know is..."
Yuan paused briefly before continuing via voice transmission, "Should I be worried about her?"
"Lord Shiva said that Prime Eternal Hilla is the least aggressive Prime Eternal and that she tends to be an observer most of the time."
"Still, I don’t know how to feel about having a Prime Eternal constantly watching over me like a creep..." Yuan shivered.
"Believe it or not... There are Eternals constantly watching the Nine Heavens. You just aren’t aware of them because they don’t make themselves known."
"So the Absolute Being’s power doesn’t block their surveillance, huh?"
"It doesn’t take much energy to look, so no, it doesn’t. Also, it’s not like they constantly keep watch. They usually just take a peek before returning to their own business."
"Good to know."
After returning to the Seventh Heaven, Yuan brought Mu Xuelian directly to the Nameless Stairway.
Upon arriving, Yuan was surprised to find the area crowded with people. However, most of them did not appear to be climbers. Instead, they were inspecting the stairway with great interest.
"What’s going on here?" Yuan approached one of the people there and asked.
"You haven’t heard? After this new Stairway to Heaven was confirmed to have been crafted by a legendary blacksmith from the past, blacksmiths from all over the world gathered here just to inspect it."
"Is that so?"
Yuan turned to look at Mu Xuelian and said, "Let’s go."
Without waiting for a response, he jumped toward the stairway, landing right before the door.
"Hey, you guys mind moving out of the way?"
"Shut up, can’t you see that we’re busy here?"
Yuan sighed, "I know you’re excited about this new treasure, and I don’t blame you, but you shouldn’t block the whole thing, preventing people from using it."
"..."
However, the blacksmiths completely ignored him and continued to examine the stairway.
Unbeknownst to them, they were completely ignoring the very person who created the Nameless Stairway they were inspecting.
"Just give up," another climber waiting for the blacksmiths to finish said to Yuan. "They won’t move for anyone. If one of them leaves, another blacksmith will immediately take their spot."
"It’s also unwise to offend them, or your life may become complicated in the future."
Since most blacksmiths were members of the same association, offending one of them was no different from offending all of them. If that happened, one could be barred from purchasing weapons or having their own weapons repaired, which would make any cultivator’s life extremely difficult.
Of course, the same could be said for offending alchemists. However, unlike blacksmiths, alchemists have many different organizations, so offending a few would not be the end of the world, as long as they did not belong to a top one.
That being said, Yuan couldn’t care less about offending them. Even if he offended every single blacksmith in the world, it would not matter to him.
After taking a deep breath, Yuan approached one of the blacksmiths, grabbed him by the back of his robes, and yanked him away from the door, shocking everyone watching.
