Chapter 2342 Speaking With Bahrah
Chapter 2342 Speaking With Bahrah
After a moment of silence, the Enlightened One spoke in a trembling voice, "If you're not serving the Eternal, then are you claiming to be on equal terms with them?"
However, before Yuan could respond, the Enlightened One exploded with anger and roared loudly, "Blasphemy! The Gods are above us! The only equals they have are each other!"
Yuan shrugged.
"I wouldn't say we're equals, but I am definitely not working for them, either."
He had an urge to say that Eternals were beneath him to see how the Enlightened One would react, but he decided not to stir up unnecessary trouble.
The Enlightened One glared at him for a good moment before speaking again, "The God you've been in contact with… What is their name?"
"Sorry, but he told me not to reveal it to anyone, especially if they're already working for another Eternal."
Of course, it was a lie, as Shura never said such a thing.
However, the Enlightened One didn't question it and then said, "Even if you're in contact with another God, it doesn't change my God's orders to recruit you."
"Oh?" Yuan raised an eyebrow at this unexpected situation.
"Your Eternal wants to recruit me? I'm listening."
He didn't immediately refuse since this would help him learn more about the Eternal behind the Enlightened One.
The Enlightened One sucked his teeth after seeing Yuan's unexpected enthusiasm.
"I thought you didn't want to serve the Gods?" "Huh? When did I say that? I merely responded to your question—that I wasn't serving one. I never said that I'd never serve one."
"Hmph! I do not believe you."
"So, when do I get to speak with your God?" Yuan then asked.
"Who the hell do you think you are? Do you think you can speak to my God whenever you want? Unfortunately for you, my God will speak with you when they're ready, and you won't be able to force your way as you did with me."
"Relax. I am just asking a question. Are you always this aggressive? Or do you just dislike me for whatever reason?" Yuan looked at him with a questioning gaze.
"Your entire existence annoys me!" The Enlightened One admitted. "I don't know why, but when I look at you, my entire being feels disgusted! Even now, I am resisting the urge to puke!" "But this is our first time meeting. Or was my first impression really that bad?" Yuan wondered out loud.
"Anyway, if your God isn't going to speak with me right now, I have no reason to linger, so I'll be taking my leave."
"Wait!" The Enlightened One suddenly stopped him. "Who said you could leave?" "Do you want me to stay? I thought my existence disgusted you. If I were you, I'd want me to leave as soon as possible."
"As much as I want you to get out of my sight, I still have some questions for you," he said.
"I can't say I'll be able to answer all of your questions, but feel free to ask them."
"What is your relationship with the Giant Emperor and the God behind him?"
"A tough question right from the get-go, huh?" Yuan smiled. "He was a friend of mine. We've known each other long before he met the Eternal. As for the Eternal… I don't have any relationship with him."
"Then why did you kill the Giant Emperor?"
"Are you asking me why I saved the world from his invasion? Would you have done it if I didn't intervene?" Yuan asked.
The Enlightened One remained quiet for a moment before responding in a clear voice, "Of course, I would've stopped him. In fact, if you had waited a day later, I would've already taken care of him."
"And how would you have done that?" Yuan pressed.
"Does it even matter anymore?" The Enlightened One shook his head, refusing to explain further.
Hearing his response, Yuan couldn't help but laugh inwardly. "Anyway, how did you defeat the Giant Emperor?" The Enlightened One continued to ask.
"I chopped his head off." "That simple? I heard that even six God Realm cultivators working together weren't able to penetrate his skin, much less injure him."
"What can I say other than that I am simply stronger than them?" "Then how—"
The Enlightened One suddenly halted his sentence.
After a brief pause, he continued, "My God has demanded your audience. I will now connect you to them. Don't move."
The Enlightened One suddenly raised his arm and mumbled something before tapping Yuan on the forehead.
The next moment, Yuan found himself hovering before a massive entity staring down upon him from many light-years away.
"So you're the mortal who ruined Zaaran's plans. You're a lot weaker than I anticipated. Did you really defeat Zaaran's puppet?"
"..."
Yuan studied the Eternal before him with a calm gaze.
"I see. So you're the one supporting the Enlightened One, Bahrah."
"?!?!"
Bahrah's eyes widened when Yuan called it by its name, even though this was their first meeting.
"Why do you know my name? Did Zaaran tell you? Or was it the Eternal behind you?" Bahrah asked.
Unbeknownst to Bahrah, Yuan knew its name because he'd fought it before, even putting it into a deep slumber.
Yuan ignored Bahrah's question and continued asking, "Where are the others?"
"The others? What nonsense are you spewing?"
'I see… so he's still working alone at this point.'
"Never mind," he said out loud a moment later.
"Answer my question, mortal. Who gave you my name? If you dare to ignore me again, I'll erase you from existence."
"It was Zaaran," Yuan lied with a calm face.
Bahrah narrowed his eyes at Yuan. "You have an odd atmosphere around you. You're clearly mortal, yet I am getting a different feeling from you. Who is the Eternal that you serve?"
"I don't serve any Eternal—at least not yet."
"Then who is the Eternal supporting you?"
"Saaruk," Yuan said with a smile on his face.
"What?! Saaruk?! I thought that bastard wasn't interested in this place!" Bahrah exclaimed in a surprised voice.
