Chapter 2121: Abyssal Underground(2)

Chapter 2121: Abyssal Underground(2)

"Please, follow me." The middle-aged man led Yuan to a beautiful woman with emerald- colored hair and brown eyes at the other side of the entrance.

Unlike the middle-aged man, who was only a Silver Immortal, this woman had the cultivation of a True Immortal.

“Senior Zeng, I have brought you a potential customer. This is his first time here."

The woman looked at Yuan with a gentle smile and spoke, "Hello, esteemed guest. I'm Zeng Guoquan, also known as the Jade Guide around here. I have over a thousand years of experience with tens of thousands of satisfied customers. If you're looking for a reliable and experienced guide for the Abyssal Underground, you have found the right person."

Yuan nodded and said, “I'm Xiao Yang, and I'm trying to reach the Abyssal Crystal Ants." “The Abyssal Crystal Ants are located between underground levels 250 and 300, where most Golden Immortal realm creatures roam. I can take you there for 500,000 spirit stones. 750,000 spirit stones if you want me to guide you back. I can even act as your bodyguard, but that will cost an additional 1 million spirit stones.”

“I just need you to bring me there," Yuan said.

“I understand. When would you like to depart?"

“Immediately, if possible. Otherwise, as soon as possible.”

“We can depart immediately then.” Zeng Guoquan said.

"Stay close to me."

Yuan nodded and followed Zeng Guoquan into the entrance to the Abyssal Underground.

From the outside, the Abyssal Underworld appeared to be an endless void of pitch black, but once Yuan crossed a certain threshold, a dim light seeped through the darkness. It wasn't nearly as bright as the surface, more akin to the faint glow of a nightlight in a dark room. Still, for a cultivator like Yuan, the low light made little difference; he could see through the darkness with ease.

"How deep does the Abyssal Underworld go?" Yuan asked as they ventured further into the tunnels.

"No one can say for certain since nobody has ever reached the end. The furthest anyone has descended is to underground level 1,290, where peak God Ascension beings roam," Zeng Guoquan replied.

"Peak of God Ascension? There are beings that strong within the Abyssal Underworld?" Yuan was surprised to hear this.

“This world is filled with unfathomable beings, after all." Zeng Guoquan calmly remarked.

The tunnels of the Abyssal Underworld stretched wide and spacious, their ceilings soaring nearly ninety-five meters high, allowing for effortless movement through their vast expanse.

As Yuan and Zeng Guoguan made their way through the tunnels, they came across a myriad of insects and subterranean creatures, each native only in the Abyssal Underworld.

Two days later.

"We're at underground level 100 right now. We should arrive at our destination in a few more days."

"Okay."

“If you don't mind me asking, why are you looking for the Abyssal Crystal Ants?" Zeng Guoquan suddenly asked.

“For training: Yuan gave a generic answer.

“I see. Where are you from? I used to be a disciple at the Verdant Rivers Pavilion before coming here to work as a guide,” Zeng Guoquan continued to make small talk as they traveled.

“I grew up as an orphan, so I don't have any background."

“Wow. You managed to reach that level as an orphan? You must be very talented."

“I wouldn't say that. However, I did get lucky with a few fortunate encounters.”

“Well, some say that luck is even more important than talent."

They passed the time with light conversation, and after two days of unhurried travel, they reached the 200th floor. Thanks to their overwhelming cultivation, none of the creatures dared to approach, allowing their journey to remain calm and untroubled. However, once they reached the 200th floor—where even the weakest beings were at the Silver Immortal realm—the monsters finally began to launch attacks against them. “Just ignore them," Zeng Guoguan instructed. "If you have a technique to mask your presence, use it."

With that, she activated a technique that suppressed her aura just enough to slip past unnoticed.

Yuan followed suit, though he deliberately left a trace of his presence unconcealed. Several days passed in silence, Zeng Guoquan uttering not a single word, her attention seemingly fixed solely on guiding Yuan to his destination.

“How much further until we arrive?" Yuan eventually asked.

“We're only a few hours away," she calmly responded.

Yuan didn't say anything else and continued to follow her.

Two hours later, Zeng Guoquan came to a halt and said, "We have arrived at our destination."

Yuan used his divine sense to sweep the place, but he couldn't find any Abyssal Crystal Ants.

"Are you sure we're in the right place?” he asked.

“Yes, I am sure."

Yuan closed his eyes and sighed.

While he didn't find any Abyssal Crystal Ants, he did find something else—several powerful presences.

"So much for being a reputable guide," he sighed out loud.

In the next moment, the presences he had sensed revealed themselves, grinning broadly. Four figures stepped into view—human cultivators, each at the True Immortal realm.

“I didn't lie to you," Zeng Guoquan said. “I really am a reputable guide, and almost everyone knows me. But they only know what I choose to show them.”

Unfazed, Yuan asked, "So, how often do you trap your customers?"

"Not often. Only when they're nobodies who won't be missed... orphans with no background like you," she replied with a peal of laughter.

The four cultivators joined in her laughter, their voices reverberating through the tunnel in mocking echoes.

“These idiots have no idea what they've gotten themselves into." Feng Yuxiang shook her head as she watched everything unfold within Yuan's Dantian.

Yuan then spoke, "So, what are you going to do to me? Kill me and rob my corpse?"

“It won't be considered robbing if the treasures owner is already dead," remarked one of the cultivators.

“In that case, hurry up and get it over with," Yuan said, his voice devoid of even the slightest trace of concern.
