1871 Gains! The Goodwill Of The Two Powers! (4)
He simultaneously held respect for Wang Teng and caution towards him.
This was why he wanted Shen Yanfeng and Shi Tianyun to attack him so that he could attempt to win Wang Teng over through kindness.
The method was clever, but they underestimated Wang Teng’s strength and abilities.
Wang Teng forced Feng Qingyan to appear after defeating Shen Yanfeng and Shi Tianyun in the arena.
Otherwise, Feng Qingyan could have easily shifted the blame onto other factions, like the Feiyun Alliance, and remained hidden in the background.
Many thoughts went through Wu De’s mind. He smiled deeply and gave Wang Teng a profound look before waving his hand and saying, “Now that things are settled, I’ll take my leave.”
“Senior, take care,” Wang Teng said.
“Oh, by the way, there’s some good news coming your way soon. Be prepared for it,” Wu De suddenly turned back and said mysteriously.
“What good news?” Wang Teng asked in confusion.
“I can’t tell you that. You’ll find out when the time comes,” Wu De chuckled and walked away.
Wang Teng was speechless.
“Wang Teng, Wu De did it on purpose.” Round Ball’s voice emerged in his mind.
“What a bad sense of humor.” Wang Teng shook his head. “Never mind, keep an eye out for information that might interest me. I’m getting curious.”
“Okay!” Round Ball chuckled.
Ji Feiyun and Wu Ming had not left. After Wu De departed, they descended from the sky and neared Wang Teng.
“Junior Wang Teng!”
“Nice to meet you!” Wang Teng looked at them and nodded.
One should not hit a smiling face. From their current demeanor, it seemed that these two had no ill intentions towards him. Wang Teng wouldn’t treat them the way he did to Feng Qingyan.
“Junior Wang Teng, you’ve certainly stirred up quite a commotion this time,” Ji Feiyun teased with a smile.
“I had no choice. I was forced,” Wang Teng replied helplessly.
“I didn’t expect Feng Qingyan to do such a thing.” Ji Feiyun agreed in agreement and then shook his head. “But this time, you’ve made an enemy out of him.”
“You have to be careful. Feng Qingyan isn’t a broad-minded person,” Wu Ming said.
“Oh? Let’s see if he has the ability.” Wang Teng remained calm. A cold smile appeared at the edge of his lips.
“Seeing you in person is better than hearing your name!” Wu Ming gave Wang Teng a thumbs up. He exclaimed, “I thought that no matter how outstanding a new student like you is, you will still need time to develop. But now, it seems that your presence alone far surpasses many senior students. Not many senior students dared to confront Feng Qingyan.”
“You’re flattering me. I just don’t like to be treated like an idiot,” Wang Teng replied calmly. He showed no sign of arrogance despite the praise.
“I wanted to recruit you to join our Feiyun Alliance but it seems impossible now,” Ji Feiyun sighed with regret. “Someone like you wouldn’t settle for anything less.”
“Thank you for your kind offer but I have many people relying on me now. I can’t just leave them behind,” Wang Teng gave an apologetic look and uttered with regret.
“With so many people willing to follow you, that speaks volumes about your abilities,” Ji Feiyun remarked. “I won’t say more. Even if we can’t recruit you into the Feiyun Alliance, I hope we won’t be enemies. We can collaborate in the future.”
“Okay!” Wang Teng nodded. He certainly didn’t want to gain an unnecessary enemy.
Having one more friend was always better than having one more enemy.
Yue Qiqiao and the others were elated. They had gained another ally.
And it was an established faction.
“The same goes for the Witch Tower Alliance. I hope to be friends with you.” Wu Ming looked at Ji Feiyun and muttered an expletive in his heart at Ji Feiyun’s slick maneuvering. He then grinned and addressed Wang Teng.
“Senior, you’re too kind. It’s my honor,” Wang Teng replied with a nod.
“If you need any help to deal with Feng Qingyan, you can tell me. I’ll do my best,” Ji Feiyun said sincerely.
“You said everything.” Wu Ming gave Ji Feiyun an exasperated look.
“Hahaha, who inquired you to be so slow?” Ji Feiyun laughed.
“Wang Teng, his words are my words. If you need anything, just say it. The Witch Tower Alliance isn’t afraid of Feng Qingyan,” Wu Ming snorted and promised Wang Teng.
Wang Teng was surprised.
Regardless of their motives, the fact that they could say such words meant they weren’t empty promises.
This wasn’t a small promise.
After all, the clash between these two factions was no trivial matter.
Wang Teng grinned and replied, “Thank you both for your kind intentions, but I believe I should be able to handle it.”
Ji Feiyun and Wu Ming glanced at each other and saw a hint of surprise in each other’s eyes. Wang Teng was confident. He even rejected their help.
Seeing this, they didn’t press further and exchanged a few more pleasantries before taking their leave
Yue Qiqiao looked at their backs as they left. She couldn’t help but ask, “Why did you give up such a good opportunity?”
“Don’t worry, we can resist Feng Qingyan with our strength,” Wang Teng replied calmly. “It’s only this way that we, the Constellation Society, can truly establish ourselves within the academy. Victories obtained with the help of others are never as significant as those we gain with our own hands.”
Yue Qiqiao was stunned for a moment before she understood. She had to admit that Wang Teng was right.
If they could defeat Feng Qingyan through their efforts and rise within the academy amidst the conflict with the Qingyan Society, the Constellation Society would truly find its footing.
“Moreover, we’ve gained two allies, which will make many things easier in the future,” Wang Teng added with a smile as he took out his spacecraft. “Let’s go back.”
Yue Qiqiao’s face brightened up as she understood the significance of having two allies. She quickly followed Wang Teng.
The members of the Constellation Society followed him. The spacecraft turned into a beam of light and disappeared into the horizon.
