Lin Xuan Qi and Liu Shi Shi left to head for Old Feng’s Inn.
And after they had a meal in the inn, he took his time with Liu Shi Shi, to shop around the area, trying to find something suitable for Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin.
He couldn’t find anything interesting, and so, he decided to buy some candies and desserts for them instead.
They were young and still liked tidbits like these.
Even Liu Shi Shi wanted some sour plum cake to make the heat from the summer go away.
He relished such moments after being so busy for the past few weeks and it would get much busier for him again soon.
But it was necessary and worth the hard work.
If he surrounded Zhao Geng Nian’s residence with his properties, he was more than confident that he could beat Zhao Geng Nian with a surprise attack.
There was no way Zhao Geng Nian could figure out that buying up properties would be a huge factor in his downfall.
However, having said that, Lin Xuan Qi also knew that he had to continue cultivating.
If he could get to Nascent Soul Level and get a soul infused with the Natal Puppet he had, it would make him much more assured of a victory when the time came.
He estimated that Zhao Geng Nian was at least at Nascent Soul Level or even at Soul Formation Level.
And even though his Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques allowed him to battle with someone at a higher level than he was, being at Soul Formation Level was something which he shouldn’t underestimate.
Who knows what techniques and artifacts Zhao Geng Nian had that might be able to counter him?
"Look, over there." Liu Shi Shi’s voice and her tugging at his sleeve brought him out of his thoughts.
He glanced in the direction where she was pointing.
The sky was painted in a reddish orange with tints of purple where it was closer to the horizon.
It looked like a painting and it was a gorgeous sunset.
"I think it’s time to get back to the mansion." Lin Xuan Qi marveled at the scene for a moment and said.
He was wary that Liu Shi Shi would ask him to recite a poem under such a scenery.
Thankfully, spending the whole day with him was enough for her.
It was tiring and fulfilling at the same time.

Back in the mansion.
"Xuan Qi, you are back." Xue Cong said when she saw him come back with Liu Shi Shi.
"We went out to shop around but there aren’t much except for some desserts and candies for the rest of you." Lin Xuan Qi said and held up the bundle he had in his hand.
Yue Xin, who was also in the main hall, widened her eyes at the words ’desserts and candies’.
She came up to him and said, "Let me help get it to sister Xue Cong."
Yue Jie, who was standing beside her, shook her head and exposed her, "You only want to check on the desserts and candies first."
"I’m sure sister Xue Cong would understand my effort to pay my respect to her." Yue Xin stuck her tongue at her sister and protested.
Xue Cong shook her head, smiled at Yue Xin and said, "I’m sure you do."
Yue Xin was the youngest among them and she always managed to bring a smile to her face, lightening up everyone’s mood at the same time.
"Get Auntie Sue to prepare for dinner." Xue Cong glanced over at Xiu and said.
Xiu nodded and headed for the kitchen as usual.
"Eat some of the desserts and candies if you are hungry in the meantime." Lin Xuan Qi said to them and he sat down in his favorite chair in the main hall.
Xue Cong proceeded to pour him a cup of tea and sat beside him.
He glanced at her while she was doing so and he noticed that she was still looking young and had that hint of the demure look when she brushed the side of her hair back behind her ears.
"This is good, sister Xue Cong, try some." Yue Xin had taken a bite of the sour plum cake and recommended it to her.
Lin Xuan Qi also took a glance at Yue Xin.
She still had that curious look about everything, but she was looking a little bit more like a young woman now with her clothes that were for a young mistress.
It was part of growing up together and it felt great for him to see her becoming more mature, taking on responsibilities in the mansion and helping out Xue Cong on any other matters.
They chatted about what he had done for the day while waiting for dinner.
His new idea got Xue Cong and the others perturbed again, but they knew of his track record so they didn’t say much other than trying to figure out what this shopping mall would be like.
It was hard for him to help them visualize it and he promised to bring them over to have a look when it was done.
"I hope it would be before the next few months when we get to see it." Xue Cong said and she glanced at her belly.
It was the fifth month now and although it wasn’t too obvious now, she had heard from her mother, Mei Jiao that it would be very obvious from the sixth month onwards.
Yue Xin also glanced down at her belly and rubbed it with a smile.
"I’m sure I will be able to get it completed soon." Lin Xuan Qi replied and held onto the hand of Xue Cong.
The first shop was settled and there were only nineteen more to go.
"Master Lin, dinner is ready." Xiu entered back into the main hall and said.
It was the perfect timing as he was already getting hungry.
He helped Xue Cong stand up and they headed towards the dining hall for dinner.
Dinner was sumptuous as usual and he couldn’t wait to have a taste of Auntie Sue’s braised beef, especially after having the bland beef noodle soup earlier in the day.
