The travel to Liu Shan Lin didn’t take too long, as it was only a few kilometers away from the city.
Along the way, Lin Xuan Qi could see through the window of the horse carriage that the trees and flowers had come back to life after the cold winter.
Everywhere was covered in green with spots of different red, yellow, blue and purple from the flowers.
Even the weather seemed perfect. It was neither too warm nor too cold.
As the gentle breeze blew, he took in a slow breath to relax himself.
Crack.
The whip of the coachman cracked and the horse carriage stopped.
"We have arrived?" Yue Xin was eager to have a great time viewing the flowers and asked.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and said, "I think so."
"Great." Yue Xin opened the door of the horse carriage and the view was absolutely stunning.
It was a large field filled with all sorts of blooming flowers, stretching into the distance as far as the eye could see.
She quickly alighted with excitement to get a better view of it.
"Be careful." Yue Jie shouted and followed closely behind Yue Xin.
Both of them stood by the side of the horse carriage and were in awe at the sight of the field.
Lin Xuan Qi also alighted from the horse carriage with Xue Cong and Liu Shi Shi right after them.
Xue Cong who had never seen something like the view in front of her had her eyes opened wide and she walked closer to the field to have a better look.
"They look so pretty." She pointed at the red flowers in front of her and glanced back at Lin Xuan Qi.
He marveled at her instead.
She was looking great with her white dress standing beside the sea of red flowers.
The idea of a spring outing didn’t seem so bad after all.
He glanced around and saw a nice spot under a tree that was not too far away.
"Xiu, setup the items over there." Lin Xuan Qi pointed at the spot and instructed Xiu to get everything ready.
"Yes, Master Lin." Xiu, who was wiping the sweat from her forehead, nodded and got the other servants to do so immediately.
And in the meantime, he walked towards Xue Cong and stood beside her to check out the flowers together with her.
He took in the view and was glad to be able to get away from everything once in a while.
Then, Yue Xin and Yue Jie walked passed them adding on to the view.
Yue Xin had walked into the field to pick up some of the flowers, with Yue Jie following while shaking her head behind Yue Xin.
But Yue Jie was also in a good mood with her lips curled up while chasing after her sister.
Liu Shi Shi in her bright red dress stood out from the flowers instead.
She walked slowly behind both of them with a sword in her hand.
It was a precious moment and Lin Xuan Qi wished that he had something to record such moments in life.
He could then playback and reminisce these moments of blissfulness whenever he wanted to.
There might be some artifacts that could do it and he took note to have a look out for it when he goes to procure more items in Wan Shou Fang next time.
"Master Lin, everything is ready." Xiu came over with her face filled with smiles.
Seeing Lin Xuan Qi standing together with her Head Mistress was such a delightful sight for her.
Her heart was filled with content when you saw lovers being together.
"Come, let’s have some dessert and tea under the shade of the tree." Lin Xuan Qi said and they moved over to the spot that was set up by Xiu and the servants.
They had laid out a silk mat on the ground, desserts, tea, and wine were placed in the middle of it.
Lin Xuan Qi sat down with Xue Cong and the others.
"Go enjoy the scenery with the other servants but don’t venture too far away." He glanced at Xiu and said.
"Thank you so much!" Xiu was surprised by it and she bowed at him.
The other servant girls were also ecstatic to be able to do so, and they walked towards the field in big strides to have a look at the flowers.
After they were gone, Xue Cong poured him a cup of wine and Yue Jie passed him a piece of red bean cake.
He took a bite of the cake and had a sip of the wine.
With the fragrance of the flowers in the air, and his wife with his concubines by the side, the wine washed down all the fatigue and pressure he was dealing with for the past few weeks.
He could sit down and enjoy the scene forever but the gaze from Liu Shi Shi at him reminded him of something.
There was a poem waiting to be recited by him.
He knew what Liu Shi Shi wanted and he didn’t want to disappoint her.
After all, she had been anticipating it for a very long time.
And besides that, he haven’t impressed Xue Cong and the others in a while and it was the moment for him to do so.
"Ahem." He cleared his throat, stood up and walked around as if he was trying to think and come up with something.
Xue Cong glanced at him with a look of admiration while he was doing pacing around.
Sitting beside her, Yue Jie was also looking at him, her eyes glittering with admiration.
Yue Xin didn’t waste her time, she continued to stuff herself with some of the dessert while her eyes tracked his every movement.
And among them, the one that was most eager for him to recite something was Liu Shi Shi.
She frowned with every step he took, and it made her anxious when he remained quiet after he did so.
It worried her if the inspiration for a poem had escaped him.
But how could it be? Everything was set up nicely for it.
Then, Lin Xuan Qi stopped and lifted the wine cup he had in the air.
