Chapter 3913: The Culprit

“I don’t know who would work against our Wind clan either.” Chen Feng’s heart weighed heavily. He continued, “Although our Wind clan has some enemies in the Immortals’ World, there are only so many people who have entered the Skyscraping World this time. The organisations behind them have nothing to do with our Wind clan, so I struggle to understand who would come after our Wind clan no matter how hard I think.”

“Fellow Chen Feng, could the deaths of your two great elders be related to a struggle over some treasure?” The middle-aged man in white robes guessed.

“Even if it were a struggle over treasure, what kind of treasure do you need for them to silence them with death? After all, our Wind clan is no ordinary peak organisation.” Chen Feng shook his head gently, clearly disagreeing with this suggestion.

After a casual conversation, the middle-aged man left. He continued to scour the area for Yang Yutian.

The Immortal Exalt ancestor of the Wind clan remained on the mossy stone, clearly choosing to remain uninvolved.

From the voice, he could tell that the person was within thirty metres of him, yet he had failed to sense his approach at all.

Chen Feng suddenly looked back. All he saw was a figure hovering three inches above the ground nine metres behind him. His entire body was covered in an ancient armour, only leaving his eyes exposed.

“It’s you! Yang Yutian!” Chen Feng called out. He recognised him with a single glance, but he was very perplexed. Right now, many Immortal Exalts were searching for his traces on the mountain peak. Instead of hiding away properly, why did he come to him instead?

Chen Feng composed himself and looked at Jian Chen with mixed feelings. “That’s true. I am one of the ancestors of the Wind clan from the Fierce Gales Heaven. Yang Yutian, you’ve gone as far as to expose yourself to find me, so why?”

“Since I’ve confirmed your identity, it’s time for me to send you on your way.” Jian Chen’s voice was icy. Reaching out, the high quality god artifact, the Heaven-lifting sword, appeared in his hand. It surged with light.

“Oh right, I forgot to tell you, but soon after we entered the Skyscraping World, the two great elders of your Wind clan died by my hand.” With that, the Heaven-lifting sword suddenly erupted with dazzling light, directly thrusting towards Chen Feng.

When he struck out, numerous blurs immediately appeared in the space there before overlapping. When the five blurs merged together completely, Jian Chen’s attack rose to a level that could even shock First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts.

Jian Chen knew that regular attacks would struggle to pose much of a threat towards a First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt like Chen Feng, so he used the Five Superimposition Sword right off the bat!

“What? The two great elders of our Wind clan were actually killed by you? Yang Yutian, how has our Wind clan provoked you for you to be so vicious?” Chen Feng was greatly shocked. He was overcome with surprise and fury. He stared straight at Jian Chen as his eyes turned bloodshot.

In the next moment, he erupted with surging energy. A mallet-shaped high quality god artifact appeared in his hand, erupting with gorgeous light as he swung down viciously.

Boom!

The two god artifacts clashed violently mid-air. With a deafening rumble, Chen Feng staggered backwards with a violent storm of energy.

The Five Superimposition Sword unleashed with Jian Chen’s current strength was completely sufficient to pose a certain level of threat to First Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts.

But similarly, Jian Chen stumbled over a dozen steps back uncontrollably. His right arm that wielded the Heaven-lifting sword became numb.

“Why, Yang Yutian? Tell me, why did you kill the two great elders of our Wind clan? What feud does our Wind clan have with you?” Chen Feng regained his footing. He clutched his mallet firmly. He gripped it so tightly that veins had already begun to bulge on his arm. His growls were filled with fury.

“You want to know the reason? If it were the Mistress of Contrary Winds, I would let her die knowing, but you’re nowhere close to being worthy.” Jian Chen sneered.

“How dare you. Yang Yutian, you’re only an Immortal Emperor. How dare you disrespect the Contrary Winds Ancestor like that!” Chen Feng was furious. The Mistress of Contrary Winds clearly held great status in his eyes. He could not allow anyone to show any disrespect towards her.

His presence surged. Tremendous energy gushed out like a tidal wave as the mallet in his hand erupted with blinding light. He swung it towards Jian Chen with startling force.

Immediately, the immense might of the world filled the surroundings. Chen Feng’s attack was no regular attack. Instead, he instantly used a God Tier Immortal Technique.

With the God Tier Immortal Technique, the power of his attack virtually broke through the limits of the First Heavenly Layer, reaching the Second Heavenly Layer.

Despite his strength, he was using a God Tier Immortal Technique against Jian Chen who was only a mid Immortal Emperor, which only demonstrated the extent of his wariness.

There had been far too many rumours surrounding Jian Chen recently. In particular, he had escaped with ease from a group of Immortal Exalts when he seized the Spiritual Fruit of Sword Nurturing.

As a result, Chen Feng did not dare to be careless at all against such a troublesome opponent. He used his full strength right from the beginning.

However, he failed to sense that when he used the God Tier Immortal Technique, Jian Chen’s lips curled into a mysterious smile underneath the Divine Armour of Heavenflight.

In the end, the terrifying strike that should have possessed devastating power dissipated into the surroundings as a ball of pure energy.

Even when part of it came into contact with Jian Chen, it struggled to pose a threat to him.

When his God Tier Immortal Technique collapsed, Chen Feng was taken aback.

However, Jian Chen did not hesitate. While Chen Feng remained stunned, he used the Shadowless Lifetaking Strike. The Laws of the Sword and the Laws of Space merged together. A powerful strand of sword Qi bypassed all of Chen Feng’s defences and directly erupted inside his body.

Spurt! Chen Feng grunted in pain as blood sprayed from his mouth. His eyes were filled with shock.

By now, Jian Chen had already arrived before him silently. The Heaven-lifting sword thrust towards Chen Feng’s forehead with five afterimages.
