Chapter 2834: Kill Them All!

Date: Unspecified

Time: Unspecified

Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Southern Region, Blossom District, Three Mischief Encampment

Fighting a Cactus Devil beneath a blood rule storm would put anyone at a disadvantage. Cactus Devils were known to swallow seas and oceans of water—or any fluid—to increase their size and store it for recovery when needed. Under a blood rule storm, Peyote would have an endless supply of blood rule to help him recover without compromising his size.

So, taking him on beneath the blood rule storm was a terrible idea, even for Konjur. Why would he spend twice, or even thrice, the amount of faith when he could defeat the same opponent for less? Konjur might be wealthy in faith, but he wasn’t foolish. He took the fight above the blood rule storm, where he could more easily disrupt Peyote’s recovery by cutting off his access to the liquid blood raining from it.

"Let’s not forget our main target. Split up and find the Emissary of Light. Field Marshal, you take the storm clouds. Karl and Corey, you two take the ground. I’ll search above the storm.

When you find him, don’t be reckless. Just because he’s lost his followers doesn’t mean he’s harmless. As far as I know, the Dark Cults use faith as a currency, which means they can exchange it among themselves. So it’s not far-fetched to assume he borrowed faith from Konjur.

When you find him, report immediately and wait for reinforcements. Only engage if he’s trying to escape."

I immediately assigned each of them their roles, intent on making full use of the chaos to accomplish my primary objective—killing the Emissary of Light. As for the rest, I wanted to first assess how the fight between Peyote and Konjur was unfolding. Based on that, I would decide how to ensure there were no dangers or obstacles left in my path.

Both Peyote and Konjur were proving to be formidable—especially Peyote. I had underestimated him. His illusion materialization ability was nothing short of a godsend. It served as both an excellent offensive and defensive power.

"Wyatt, Karl can handle the search for the Emissary on the ground alone. I’m coming with you."

As the Field Marshal and Karl moved to carry out their orders, Corey questioned hers. There was a reason I had paired her with Karl—so he could subtly keep an eye on her and stop her before she did anything reckless again. So, of course, I refused.

"Don’t be ridiculous. Just conduct the search for the Emissary on the ground with Karl. Don’t make me repeat myself."

"Wyatt, I don’t need your protection. I’m more than capable of handling this—just like I have so far."

Corey continued to argue, and without waiting for my permission, she shot up above the clouds. Enraged, I grabbed her and flung her down, slamming her hard onto the ground below.

"Corey, all you’ve managed to do is turn the Card World into a battlefield for two semi-ruler entities with power rivaling that of ruler-class beings—despite both of them having their realms suppressed by the world’s will. If one of them doesn’t back down soon, they could destroy the five regions—maybe even the entire Card World. The fact that you can’t see the consequences of your actions says enough. Shut up and do what I say, or I will—"

When I faced Konjur, I remember thinking things couldn’t get any worse—but Corey found a way to prove me wrong by inviting Peyote. Even now, she seemed to be following a plan of her own. Knowing just how reckless her plans could be, I had no intention of letting her continue down that path, even if it meant standing against her myself. But Corey ferociously cutin, yelling, "Or you will what, Wyatt?

"Grow up already. We’re being invaded by two of the Myriad Realm’s most notorious forces—the Devil Merchant Code and the Dark Cults. There’s no playing it safe here. Today, we’re not just killing the Emissary of Light—we’re killing Konjur and Peyote as well. Because neither of them will simply leave after defeating the other. As long as either of them is alive, the Card World isn’t safe. So they all need to die."

"Corey, honey, calm down. Killing those two devils in our realm will not change anything, only delay the inevitable."

The Field Marshal halted after hearing our altercation. She sided with me—not because I was her young lord, but because Corey’s plan was too extreme. She wanted us to kill two semi-ruler entities, and not just any—these two stood at the very peak of that level. Especially Konjur, with his near-endless reserves of faith.

The Field Marshal believed our chances were far better if we forced both of them to withdraw for now. Killing them outright wasn’t feasible—not unless we could somehow exhaust Konjur’s faith reserves or find a way to harm Peyote’s true body in its illusionary state. Both were far easier said than done.

"You guys, can’t you trust me for once? My previous self killed Peyote once. I can do it again. Have faith in me."

Corey spoke with a hint of disappointment, but beneath that facade she was concealing far too much. Back in Princess Corey Stuart’s world, Peyote’s realm had been suppressed, and even the number of abilities he could use had been limited. His illusion materialization had never reached its full potential—yet it had still managed to take Corey Stuart down with it.

Corey didn’t dare share any of that with her boss. She knew he would bench her without a second thought, never even hearing the ’brilliant’ plan she believed could kill not just Peyote, but Konjur as well.

Yes, her earlier indignation had mostly been an act—meant to seize control of the situation and get her way without question. But she hadn’t expected her boss to be this stubborn. Fortunately for her, he was also her best friend.

Corey wasn’t sure about her boss, but the Field Marshal seemed to be buying her story. She stepped in to persuade him.

"Wyatt, it wouldn’t hurt to hear her out. After all, she did kill him once."
