"What the fuck is all this nonsense?" Corey cursed aloud, staring at the description of her new title demon core, Samsara Flame of Agony. The information barely made sense to her. It irritated it so much that she didn’t celebrate the fact that she had just gained three new soul traits and an entirely new physique.
Frustrated, she stopped trying to decipher everything at once. She decided she would either test the functions of her title demon core and traits in real time or wait for Park to explain them properly. Overanalyzing them now would only slow her down.
Then, under our surprised gazes, Corey summoned the card containing Agony’s memories from the card holder and equid it into the attack page of her grimoire. Activating it without hesitation, she said, "If she doesn’t have her memories, how will she atone for what she did to Lil’ Baem and for the deaths of my loyal comrades?"
Corey didn’t want Agony erased. But she had no intention of letting her walk free from the consequences of how she treated Lil’ Baem and her hand in the deaths of Corey Park’s old comrades. Even if Lil’ Baem and Park themselves seemed indifferent, Corey clearly wasn’t willing to let it go.
Watching Corey find a way to complicate everything, I could only slap my forehead in frustration. This was on me. I never should have let her keep Agony’s memories. I should have taken them when I had the chance. Now it made sense why she had agreed so easily when I explained the fix earlier. She had already decided to go through with this. She just needed the right moment.
The moment Agony’s memories were restored, the small ball of flame cradled in Park’s embrace suddenly shot into the air. It expanded mid-flight, erupting outward and reshaping itself into a humanoid form similar to Park’s.
However, unlike Park, this figure was clad in full-body armor forged from dense black smoke woven through golden flame. The smoky plating wrapped around her limbs and torso like living metal, solid yet shifting with the fire beneath it.
"Where am I? What’s going on?" Agony muttered as she scanned her surroundings. She barely acknowledged the rest of us. Instead, her eyes immediately locked onto Lil’ Baem, who was coiled around Corey’s right wrist.
"Baem! Baem!! What’s happening?" she called out desperately.
When Lil’ Baem gave no response, Agony’s gaze snapped toward Corey. "Who are you? Why do you have Baem with you? What did you do to her? Why isn’t she answering me—ah!"
Her humanoid flame form flickered violently as she screamed in sudden pain, clutching at her head before collapsing to one knee midair. "Father!!!" she cried out.
The moment her eyes found me, whatever confusion remained vanished, replaced by raw fury. She lunged forward, shouting, "I’ll kill you! How dare you fight my father’s incarnation?!"
However, before Agony could even reach me, Corey’s voice rang out with calm authority. "Stand down, Crusader."
The command took effect instantly. Agony halted mid-lunge, her body snapping upright as if seized by invisible reins. She stood at attention, every movement rigid and instinctive rather than voluntary.
Corey walked toward her unhurriedly until she stood face to face with the armored flame. "I really love my new title demon core," she said lightly. Then she reached out and patted Agony’s cheek twice, almost fondly. "Go repent in the False Haven."
As Agony vanished into the False Haven, Corey immediately shifted her attention to her grimoire. She flipped to the attack page and focused on her Origin Card, her expression caught somewhere between anticipation and restraint. She clearly wanted to see what’s new, yet part of her seemed wary knowing the nature of her Origin Card.
