Chapter 2575: Already?
Chapter 2575: Already?
Date: Unspecified
Time: Unspecified
Location: Myriad Realms, Card World, Central Region, Central Academic City, Morningstar University District, Brothwork Manor
"So, is this the business you wanted to discuss with me after our breakfast date tomorrow?" Jill asked once Drew left, clearly wondering whether I planned to use her Dream Nymph card distribution channels to sell my Slime Fairy cards in the Central Region.
"Well, it’s part of it," I replied, choosing not to elaborate.
I wouldn’t have dared to promote my pleasure cards under Jill’s name if I hadn’t already known how she would answer after tomorrow’s talk.
At first, I thought Jill had started the pleasure card venture just to make quick money. But now that I knew she’d done it to trap me, I understood that she wouldn’t refuse anything I asked of her.
After all, she was willing to tarnish her father’s long-standing reputation just to secure a single date with me. Women this obsessed with you were rare. Most people would keep their distance from someone like her... but I preferred keeping her close.
I barely had time to love or care for myself, but she loved and cared for me enough for both of us. With her at my side, I knew not a single day of mine would ever be dull.
"How about we have that talk now?" Jill asked. Neither of us had any interest in whatever this party was supposed to be—group sex, group masturbation... who even decided the distinction?
"Nah. I want at least one proper date with you before I go and ruin it," I declined. I was confident Jill would agree to work with me, but only the ignorant find comfort in certainty; I knew better than to assume.
Listening to my words, Jill blinked in surprise, then her face lit up. She took my hand and led me toward one of the empty gardens in the mansion’s left wing, not bothering to wait for Drew. "Don’t worry about him," she said reassuringly. "He has a good nose. He’ll find us."
"He seems to genuinely care about you," I said, still surprised she had someone she could actually call a best friend—especially one from the opposite sex. With Jill’s physique, most men couldn’t help but have profane thoughts about her; resisting them was nearly impossible.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Jill teased, a wide grin spreading across her face. She clearly enjoyed the idea that I disliked her having a male best friend.
If that were truly the case, I wouldn’t have asked him to help distribute the Slime Fairy cards at the party. But I didn’t deny it. Better to let her have her fun. "Yes," I said. "He’s a good-looking fellow. Don’t tell me you’re keeping a boy-toy on the side."
"Yes, I am. What are you going to do about it?" Jill shot back, letting go of my hand as she rushed ahead, spinning around to face me while acting cute and ridiculous at the same time.
"Woman, did you already forget what I can do?" I asked, raising a brow. "It hasn’t even been that long," I added, alluding to our intimate combat session that had lasted the entire day.
The moment I brought that up, the playful smile on Jill’s face faded. "Just you wait," she declared. "Let’s see if you can still say that once I finish creating those runes."
I sighed, realizing exactly where I had gone wrong. "Do you have to be that competitive? Most women would be thrilled to have a partner who can help them reach orgasm—and here I am giving you multiple, each lasting for hours."
"Well, I’m not like most women, am I?" Jill shot back, clearly offended by the comparison. "Just enjoy yourself for now. We’ll see who gets the last laugh."
I’d made that mistake before—with the other two as well. I supposed I was just like most men in that regard: incapable of learning from my own missteps.
Still, there was one upside to all this. Jill wasn’t planning to abstain from sex while forging those runes she believed would make her the best in bed across the entire Myriad Realms, not just the Card World. Well, how could she abstain? She clearly enjoyed the deed—maybe not as much as I did, but she certainly enjoyed it.
"I leave you alone for one moment and you’re already fighting with my brother-in-law? At some point, you should consider the possibility that you are the problem," Drew’s voice came from behind us, mocking Jill’s competitive, petty streak.
"Already?" I asked, surprised he’d returned so quickly.
"Yep. They were instantly mesmerized by the beauty and sound of the Slime Fairy card," Drew said, stepping closer. "You were right—it’s leagues above the Dream Nymph card. Even if you priced it at ten times the Dream Nymph’s cost, they’d still clear out every store. Once I ran out of cards to hand out, I honestly thought they might tear me apart from disappointment. I barely escaped with my life. Brother-in-law, you’ve created another game-changing card, congrats."
Drew didn’t hold back on the praise. He did me a favor without even exerting any effort.
I took out a small stack of premium Slime Fairy cards—ones I’d set aside for VIPs—and handed them to him. "Thank you," I said. "Keep these. Use them however you see fit."
One premium Slime Fairy card was more than enough to satisfy a Card Apprentice, yet I gave Drew an entire stack. They were meant to be gifts for his friends and elders to his relationships and connections. Even though the card hadn’t officially entered the market, its value was already undeniable. He could auction the whole stack and make a fortune if he wanted—I wouldn’t mind in the slightest.
All I cared about was ensuring the depraved elite of the Five Regions learned that the Southern Region now had a pleasure card far superior to the Dream Nymph card. It was only a matter of time before they came knocking on my door.
