Chapter 388 - Patched up a lie
Chapter 388 Patched up a lie
Chen Qian tipped her mother a wink while thinking. She hoped her mother could help to say something good for her to Chen Huiqiang.
Peeping at the man who was serious and with a terrible face, Lv Xiaoru looked at her daughter, shook her head, and pursed her lips to imply that Chen Qian should face it in person.
Chen Qian was nervous because she had never been questioned by someone before. When she looked at her father who was serious and listened to his cold words, her fear grew strong……
The room was quiet for a few minutes. Chen Qian tried to look up at her father. At that moment when she looked at her father’s eyes, she felt like a fool and her mind went blank. She heard her father ask her again.
“Qian, if you don’t know how to start, I will remind you. Take it easy. I just want to get the lay of the land. You can say what you want…”
She heard her father’s attractive voice.
On the next second, she saw that her father was looking for something on his phone, and then she heard the familiar voice again. Exactly, it was Jiang Jingcheng’s voice.
Her pupils dilated unconsciously. She could not disguise the fear, nervousness and shame from her heart. It seemed that a lie was caught by someone.
Now Chen Qian could find no place to hide herself for shame. The feeling of being questioned tortured her so much.
All of a sudden, Chen Qian reckoned that she had to stop being like that. She had to persuade everyone to believe her. They could not make the conclusion that she did that only with the short recording. They didn’t have any direct evidence.
On this moment, she had to convince her father.
“Dad, do you really believe that I did it? I don’t want to talk about it because no one will believe me. There is no need to say it. Since everyone thinks it is I who did it, there is no need for me to argue about it.”
Chen Qian plucked up the courage and yelled. Her tone and expression was so convincing that even Lv Xiaoru almost believed what she said.
Chen Huiqiang glanced at his daughter in surprise and then became serious again. This time his voice was warmer. “Sweetie, why would he say that? Why did he try to frame you without any reason?” He asked.
Chen Qian lowered her eyes and frowned. After a while, she looked at her parents, and said with a forced smile, “Dad, I don’t want to say. I really don’t want to talk about it.”
She lowered her head and tears were falling down from her red and swollen eyes.
He was brokenhearted when he saw Chen Qian who was crying. He couldn’t just ignore that his daughter was wronged by someone.
“Tell me about it, Qian. I won’t let anyone bully you! We can’t stand this kind of thing. Tell me!”
“Qian, you’d better talk to your dad. He is worried about you. It will make you feel better after saying it.”
Lv Xiaoru exaggerated the details when she found the situation had reversed.
Chen Qian kept crying no matter how hard they tried to persuade her, which made Chen Huiqiang more distressed.
Chen Huiqiang stopped pushing her and he was determined to avenge his daughter. He could not bear to see his daughter wronged.
Chen Qian cried for a long time and finally she calmed down. She peeped at her father while wiping the tears. She was relieved when she saw her father looked at her lovingly.
She lowered her head and gave a quiet cough. She wiped the tears occasionally and said, “Dad, you know me. You know what kind of person I am. How could I do that to hurt others! Of course I like Mo Yichen, but I won’t use such a dirty trick.”
Lv Xiaoru watched her daughter with concern, touched her back and handed tissues to her. Finally, she was relaxed when the atmosphere was lightened.
“Well. You know our daughter will not do such a thing. There must be someone who framed her. Chen Qian has always been a straightforward and upright girl. I believe she didn’t do it!”
He nodded to show that he agreed with them. Chen Qian was happy and grinned, but it didn’t last long.
“Qian, do you know why he framed you? You just tell me and I will help you to vent your anger.”
Chen Qian’s eyes were full of tears again and her voice was a little hoarse. When he knew Chen Qian had suffered so much, Chen Huiqiang clenched his fists.
“That man kept chasing me all the time, but I refused him. A few days ago, he threatened me that he would not let me go if I didn’t promise to be his girlfriend.”
“However, I think I can’t make a compromise in love, so perhaps he starts to hate me from then on.”
“I reckon that it is his way of taking revenge. However, I never thought he would do that, but it is okay if he can feel better.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about it?” He frowned and lowered his head, looking very sad.
Chen Qian hesitated for a while. This familiar while strange feeling warmed her heart. When she saw her father’s concerned eyes and heard those kind words, Chen Qian had mixed feelings.
“Dad, I don’t want to bother you because you are so busy. You’ve done so much for our family. As for these trifles, it’s not important.”
Chen Qian’s affectedly sweet voice echoed throughout the room. She leaned on her father’s shoulder, looking tender and pitiful.
“Sweetie, I will help you to vent your anger. I will give him a lesson that the daughter of Chen’s family is not the one he can bully.”
He stood up and scolded Jiang Jingcheng. He claimed that he would take revenge on Jiang Jingcheng. Chen Qian was happy, but she didn’t want him to do that, or she would be caught in a lie once again.
“Dad, forget it. I don’t want to dwell on it. Just let bygones be bygones. I don’t want to care about the things of the past. As for whether other people will believe me or not, I don’t care. I have a clear conscience!”
“Alas…” Chen Huiqiang heaved a long sigh. His daughter was considerate to others, which made him relieved.
