Chapter 580 - 580 Allies? Spying on the Technology of Advanced Civilizations
580 Allies? Spying on the Technology of Advanced Civilizations
Few people could explain the concepts of four-dimensional space and three-dimensional space. The information they could obtain came from alien accounts.
“Yes, they tried to control our planet’s civilization and use our civilization to conquer the surrounding galaxies.”
As soon as the alien finished speaking, it revealed a helpless expression and shook its head gently.
Their planet was also about to face danger. In the vast universe, the birth and death of life, the rise and fall of civilizations, all followed the law of the strong preying on the weak.
In the competition between Level 3 civilizations, the strong were like wolves while the weak were like lambs.
If they were not strong enough, they would likely be devoured by a stronger Level 3 civilization and become a stepping stone on their path to becoming a Level 2 civilization.
In this competition, the most crucial thing was interstellar conquest.
“So, when you came to our planet, did you find the technology to bypass spatial restrictions?” Wu Mo asked the key question.
However, the alien shook his head and firmly said, “No, there is no such technology capable of interdimensional travel on your planet or in the entire galaxy.”
Hearing this answer, Wu Mo nodded slightly. That was the answer he wanted to hear. If the Taal Nebula truly had such technology, humans would be the most likely race to make a breakthrough in four-dimensional space travel.
Then, the alien with green hair explained the main purpose of their visit. “We discovered that your planet’s civilization was about to reach Level 3. Therefore, we were hoping to borrow your strength to fight planet Fita together.”
Fita? Wu Mo was shocked. It was another planet with a civilization of its own. It was five light-years away from Dark Star and even further away from Earth.
“Fita is about seven light-years away from you. Our three planets are actually distributed in a triangle.”
Wu Mo immediately recorded the alien’s explanation and drew a simulation map, which clearly depicted the location of the three planets in the universe.
“Are you kidding me? Our human planet hasn’t even learned how to walk yet, and we’re already embroiled in a Level 3 civilization war. They’re obviously using us!”
After the aliens left, Wu Mo, the old chief, and a group of military officers held an emergency meeting with the Planetary Alliance.
The atmosphere in the room was as dreary as a murky lake, and the authoritative figures, who were seated, had a cautious look in their eyes.
When Wu Mo calmly revealed the purpose of the aliens’ visit, there was an uproar. Several generals from the military took the lead in expressing their disapproval.
They firmly believed that the aliens were lying and that it was all a trap. Their only goal was to make humans work for them and become cannon fodder on the battlefield.
They imagined that once humans went all out, they would send spaceships to the mysterious Fita and participate in this so-called “Civilization War.”
When that happened, the raging waves of destruction would instantly sweep over them.
In their heads, mankind would only become Dark Star’s defensive line. Dark Star would then use this opportunity to fight back against Fita and turn defeat into victory.
Most people accepted this as fact. Even the heads of state fell into deep thought.
Obviously, they did not think highly of Wu Mo’s idea.
Only the old chief saw through Wu Mo’s true intentions.
“Wu Mo, you don’t actually want to participate in the Civilization War. Your real goal is to obtain their technology, right?” The old chief’s words hit the nail in the coffin.
‘The old chief is the only one who knows me.’ Wu Mo’s lips curled into a smile.
He nodded and admitted, “That’s right. We will send no more than three spaceships, they’ll be on full autopilot mode. Even if we really become cannon fodder, our losses will be kept to a minimum. But more importantly, we’ll have the opportunity to learn more advanced alien technology.”
Hearing Wu Mo’s answer, everyone in the meeting room had new hope in their eyes. If it was truly as Wu Mo said, this plan might be worth a try.
“However, we’ve only successfully made one spaceship fly faster than the speed of light, Chief Engineer Wu. Won’t it be difficult to make three?” an official asked with some doubt.
Wu Mo shook his head and confidently said, “It won’t be a problem. Give me half a month.”
“Half a month? ” The meeting room was filled with shock. Wu Mo understood the technical challenges of building a spaceship, and so did every other researcher there.
To build a spaceship with antimatter propulsion was not only difficult but also almost impossible.
The top scientific research teams from all over the world had spent nearly a month working day and night to successfully develop it.
Now, Wu Mo was claiming that he could build three spaceships like that in just half a month. His words were firm, but everyone felt that his claim would be nothing more than a dream. Others suspected Wu Mo of doing this for his reputation, hence he had to shoulder the almost impossible task. Such a move might bring irreversible danger to mankind.
“Chief Engineer Wu, we need to discuss this further.” A senior researcher walked up to Wu Mo steadily, his voice full of seriousness. This researcher was called Zheng Jun. He did not stand out on the research base, but he knew all the equipment and technology there like the back of his hand. He was even more proficient than Wu Mo in that sense.
He was usually low-key and taciturn. Every time he opened his mouth, his words would be the result of careful consideration.
Wu Mo nodded slightly and accepted Zheng Jun’s request. He knew that such a discussion was necessary.
Zheng Jun was accompanied by a few researchers. They were Wu Mo’s right-hand men, so they knew every part of the plan.
“Chief Wu, if we participate in the war, will we draw the attention of an advanced civilization in the future?” Zheng Jun went straight to the point and addressed the main issue.
His question forced everyone to face reality. Mankind could borrow Dark Star’s power to go on an expedition, and they would only lose three spaceships.
However, once the war was over, would other civilizations track the origin of those three spaceships? If they found Earth, it would bring even more unpredictable consequences to human society.
Wu Mo’s eyes glinted with a thoughtful light as he finally opened his mouth and said, “We can activate the camouflage devices on the spaceships so that others can’t track their route and find our planet.” His answer seemed simple but witty.
Zheng Jun nodded thoughtfully but soon frowned.” Chief Engineer Wu, if Dark Star has other unknown motives, then not only will we not be able to obtain their advanced technology, we might even attract disaster.”
This question actually revealed a deeper concern.
Currently, Dark Star appeared to be friendly, and it even provided a blueprint for an advanced weaponry.
However, all of this was because they were unable to fight against humans now.
