Chapter 401 - 401 I Just Woke Up Late
401 I Just Woke Up Late
Most importantly, they did not have any extraordinary legacies or corresponding extraordinary knowledge and systems. By studying craters, they figured out how to use Divine weapons to absorb the power of heaven and earth. That way, they could transcend.
However, their utilization of this extraordinary power was too slow. Without a legacy, they could only rely on the gathered experiences of numerous people.
They inevitably made mistakes, and countless people with lofty aspirations went berserk or even died because of this.
Therefore, although the supernatural powers of this world had been developed for decades, there was still an insurmountable gap between it and technology.
After all, extraordinary power was invisible and intangible. There was no relic or reference point. It could only be created out of thin air, and that was obviously challenging.
However, Wu Mo was different. He did not have a transcendent inheritance related to cultivation, but he had something related to Divine weapons. With it as a reference, he could perfect the establishment and application of his own transcendent system faster.
He should take this path instead of investing more experience into combining transcendence and technology.
With a thought, Wu Mo returned to his hotel room, and he exhaled lightly.
Although he had been in the Divine Forging Space for the past 10 days, he continued to scan his room for any movements.
“Perhaps I can create a piece of equipment for surveillance. If I can create something similar to the Vision Ward in League of Legends, it would make things much simpler. But this is just an option. Right now, I still have to utilize my experience in the exchange conference. Whether I’m interested in this exchange conference or not, I can’t disappoint the people who’ve helped me. They look forward to it, so that’s the least I can do!”
He took a shower, changed his clothes, and pushed the door open.
As soon as he stepped out, he saw a few familiar figures at the elevator door not far away. It was Xu Wanqing and the others.
The moment he appeared, Xu Wanqing’s beautiful eyes widened.
She remembered knocking on his door for a long time, but she never heard any movement from inside. She thought that he had already gone downstairs. She did not expect him to still be in his room.
Wu Mo had actually heard the knocking earlier, but he was putting the finishing touches to the Frost Star. Since he was in the middle of something important, he decided to ignore it.
After he exited the space, he even deliberately dawdled for a while and washed up. He did not expect to bump into them when he stepped out.
He raised his hand and touched his nose to ease the awkward atmosphere, but he realized that Xu Wanqing was still staring at him.
“Ahem! Good morning!”
Xu Wanqing, Gan Yun, Liu Ze, and Chen Qingbai gave him a strange look.
“It’ll be noon in two hours!” Xu Wanqing said after a long while.
Wu Mo walked over to them and remained silent.
Gan Yun approached Wu Mo and bumped into him. “What were you doing in your room? Were you…” he asked as laughed sleazily. He was being too familiar with Wu Mo.
Wu Mo could tell that his brain was full of naughty thoughts. He was speechless. “I just woke up late!” he responded in annoyance.
“I understand, I understand. We’re all at that age. Who wouldn’t know?! Look at your face. It’s a little pale. You need to nourish yourself!”
Wu Mo looked up helplessly and gave up on explaining.
Liu Ze and Chen Qingbai smiled knowingly. They kept quiet, but their silence said everything.
Xu Wanqing looked at the three of them, and she was somewhat baffled.
She was irritated because Wu Mo had clearly been in his room, but he never opened the door for her. She did not know what he had been occupied with. Was it possible that the guys knew?
“What are you talking about? Do you know what he was doing in his room?”
“No, we don’t!” Gan Yun quickly denied.
Liu Ze and Chen Qingbai also shook their heads to indicate that they had no idea.
Right then, the elevator arrived, and the doors opened with a ding. Wu Mo quickly pushed Xu Wanqing aside and said, “Hurry up, it’s getting late!”
Xu Wanqing snorted and said unhappily, “If you don’t open the door for me next time, I’ll definitely kick it open and see what you’re doing in your room!”
When Gan Yun and the other two heard this, they all looked on with anticipation. They even gave Wu Mo an encouraging look. They seemed completely happy with themselves.
Wu Mo did not know how these guys suddenly became so close. He just pretended not to see them.
Soon, they arrived downstairs.
Guan Hu had already brought his men over to guard the elevator doors. He stood guard the instant he saw them come down.
“The exchange conference is about to start. Wu Mo, if you’re hungry, you can eat in the car while you wait for lunch! Who asked you to wake up so late?”
Although Xu Wanqing’s eyes were filled with resentment, she still expressed her concern and handed Wu Mo a bag.
It warmed his heart a little. Even though this girl had a little temper, she was still a good person.
At this moment, the participants from the other provinces also appeared in the hall one after another, and they all sized each other up.
Dressed in formal attire, Chu Qingyan was standing in the crowd and chatting with a few Red Heart blacksmiths whom he knew. Among them was Zhang Weiyi, the “seeded player.”
They chatted happily as if there was no one else around and it showed that they had a plan in mind.
However, when Chu Qingyan saw a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye, his heart skipped a beat.
He felt as if he had spotted someone, and he could not believe it when he turned his head. He saw Wu Mo who had just walked out of the elevator.
There was a jolt in his heart!
“This isn’t right! Wasn’t he demoted to a quality inspector? Why is he here to participate in the exchange conference? Is he qualified and strong enough?”
Chu Qingyan was filled with resentment toward Wu Mo. If it were not for the fact that he could not do anything to Wu Mo, he would have taken revenge long ago. He never thought he would meet his enemy here.
In a moment of agitation, his eyes revealed a vicious and hateful expression. His originally gloomy temperament became sinister.
A few people who were chatting with him sensed that something was off, and they could not help but follow his gaze.
“That must be the White River province’s Wu Mo! I heard that he’s created several top-notch equipment that can be mass-produced. White River’s military has purchased them. He’s quite famous in our circle!” a young man with glasses said with a confident smile.
Zhang Weiyi recognized Wu Mo and nodded as well. “He’s indeed famous, but that’s pretty much it. I heard that Xu Wanqing, Academician Xu’s granddaughter from White River, is also participating in this exchange conference. As for Wu Mo, the equipment he’s developed is just so-so. It’s only suitable for a small number of people!”
Right then, Chu Qingyan finally regained his senses. A smile instantly replaced the expression on his face. “Hmph, I won’t hide this from everyone—I have a grudge against Wu Mo. I thought that he had already disappeared into oblivion. I didn’t expect him to be here, so I lost my composure just now.”
