Chapter 442 - His Life Was Ruined Anyway
Chapter 442: His Life Was Ruined Anyway
Ruan Pengcheng couldn’t be bothered to continue arguing with Gao Fengxia, so he said lightly, “Whatever you wish to think.”
He then turned around and walked out of the ward.
“Mom, you have to avenge me!” Ruan Xuan looked at Gao Fengxia anxiously. “Chi Jiao caused me to become like this. If I can’t vent this anger inside me, I won’t be able to live anymore!”
“Stop talking nonsense.” Gao Fengxia’s eyes were red as she looked at Ruan Xuan with heartache. “Don’t worry. I won’t let that little b*tch Chi Jiao live easy.”
Ruan Xuan nodded as a dark glint flashed across his lowered eyes.
His life was ruined, anyway.
If he got the chance, he would kill Chi Jiao!
The night passed quickly.
Chi Jiao slept very well. When she opened her eyes, it was already morning.
Stretching, she instinctively looked towards the side of the bed.
She was stunned.
The person sitting by the bed was not Chi Mingwei but Quan Jue.
She met the youth’s deep eyes.
At that moment, Chi Jiao thought she was dreaming.
“You’re awake. How do you feel?” Quan Jue’s deep voice was slightly hoarse.
Chi Jiao came back to her senses and looked down bashfully. “I feel much better.”
“Then get up and wash up. We still have to put a drip on you later,” Quan Jue said as he carried her from the bed and walked towards the washroom.
Chi Jiao’s arm was in a cast, so it was not convenient.
Quan Jue squeezed the toothpaste onto her toothbrush and filled the disposable cup with water before passing the toothbrush to her other hand.
While Chi Jiao was brushing her teeth, she kept looking at Quan Jue through the mirror.
The young man stood quietly beside her, looking down at her with an ambiguous expression.
It had been a long time since Chi Jiao saw such a gloomy Quan Jue.
She was sure that he was angry.
And it had something to do with her.
After Chi Jiao finished brushing her teeth, Quan Jue helped her wash her face. He then picked up the comb on the sink and stood behind her to help her comb her hair.
His slender fingers passed through her soft black hair, nimbly braiding it.
“Brother Quan, are you done with your work?” Chi Jiao couldn’t stand the silence between them and asked him in a low voice.
Quan Jue grunted in acknowledgment.
He then lifted her into his arms again and walked out.
Quan Jue placed Chi Jiao back on the bed and covered her with the blanket. “I’m going to buy breakfast.”
With that, he turned around and strode out of the ward.
Chi Jiao pursed her lips as she watched Quan Jue leave.
Damn.
This proud, temperamental guy was angry now. He wasn’t going to be easy to appease.
If she knew this would happen, she would have called Quan Jue herself and told him about her injury.
Not long after Quan Jue left, someone else came into the ward.
It was Gao Fengxia and two other middle-aged women that Chi Jiao had never seen before.
The two middle-aged women looked like rich madams dripping with jewelry. They looked aggressive and were obviously not easy people to deal with.
Chi Jiao could roughly guess their identity. They should be Yu Dahui and Dan Xiaoliang’s family members.
“It’s this b*tch! She’s the one who caused your sons to end up like that!” Gao Fengxia pointed at Chi Jiao and looked at her as if she wanted to skin her alive.
Bian Shurong and Jin Hongjie stared at Chi Jiao, sizing her up.
There was a cast on the young girl’s arm, and her roomy hospital gown hung loosely on her body, making her look even more petite and frail. Coupled with her fair and harmless little face, she looked like an innocent young thing who could be bullied by anyone.
